My wife and I each had the valentine special and every item was excellent including the service. She remarked on the way home that it could not have been better and I agree!

Awful … Simply awful. For a restaurant that offers $ 28 — $ 38 entrees presenting itself as an upscale eatery and then serves fries that are frozen potato wedges for $ 5 !!! I confirmed via the waiter that they were in fact frozen and then baked fries… that’s just wrong. Will not return again.

The filet was the best I’ve ever had. The service was not attentive at all. It was not busy in our section. Server that took order then left at end of her shift. No one paid any attention to us at all. Water empty. No one came with check or asked if we wanted dessert. I complained but nothing was even comped. I expect better service when you are leaving such a high tip because food is more expensive.

Very mediocre now for either lunch or dinner — it used to be a very nice place for either a business lunch or a special dinner. Seems like they«dumbed down» the menu to overpriced sandwiches, apps, and entrees. We found the dining, tables, and chairs very dirty. Hostess tried to seat me at a chair with a large, fresh stain. When asked, the waitress said it was from a child the previous night and she didn’t have time to pull the chair. I didn’t bother asking if the dirty table was also from the night before!

Anniversary night, not impressed. Although the staff was excellent, the food was bland. Sent back a steak, lack of seasoning, very disappointed. Mashed potatoes were tasteless like boxed potatoes. My husband and I don’t drink alcohol so we asked for lemonade. We were given what tasted like water with a teaspoon of sugar and was told it was pink lemonade, smh. We will never go back.

Awful. Dreary over-lit, interior that looks like a bad corporate dining room. I could not cleanly cut through my rib-eye … no matter from which direction, filled with stringy sinew. Gross. Would have sent it back except I was a guest at a business dinner. Thought ice cold martini would take edge off. Evidently, «ice cold» means lukewarm at this joint. I asked for a glass of ice and dumped my martini in it. Bad service, management’s fault … server had way too many tables to handle. Stay away.

I was warmly greeted and promptly seated Had the perfect amount of time to look over the menu. The waiter was very friendly and helpful The house bisque was delicious The Australian lamb rack medium rare was perfect and a large portion size My drink was refilled at a very timely manner Will return if I travel again to this area

Food was great! I enjoyed the service and the food. Presentation was wonderful. Ambience was nice it could’ve been better when it comes to the furniture, it’s high end. Overall it’s great!

We’ve always been fans of the Chop House concept, dating back to the one on West Market Street, which sadly closed a number of years ago. There are 3 left, one in Raleigh and one in Wilmington, and this one. The menu here is not quite as broad, but still it is loaded with some great choices. We tried a couple of salads today, and added some protein to fill out the meal — the Caesar with Grilled Chicken($ 11), and the House Salad with Shrimp, also grilled($ 13). The Caesar was excellent as always, with a nice amount of very tasty, very tender chicken, loaded with flavor. their Caesar dressing is perfect, rich in flavor without being overpowering and cloying. The Romaine lettuce was plentiful and very fresh, no small matter in a salad. The House Salad was every bit the equal of the Caesar — the mixed greens, diced green pepper, sliced cucumber, and even the sliced red onion, were fresh and full of flavor. Then you thrown in some roasted almonds, shredded cheese, croutons, and perfectly grill, well sized shrimp, and top with outstanding, house made Blue Cheese Dressing, and you have yourself a perfect lunch salad. And that Blue Cheese is as good as it gets, a sharp blue cheese taste without being too much, and just a slight sour hook at the end. The food here is 5 star, as is the service, but the environment is a bit off, preventing a completely pleasant dining experience. There is little softness to the layout or furnishings — the tables are too close together, and the booths(large or small) are not at all comfortable, and when this place gets busy(and it does), things are on the loud side.

I have dined here a handful of times for business dinners over the past couple of years. The food is always very consistent and steaks have been cooked to the proper temperature each time. They really lack a great wine list however for being a chop house. Furthermore, the service can be dreadfully slow. It also seems as if there is a training issue with the waitstaff as far as being knowledgable about the menu, specials and even simple items such as opening a bottle of wine correctly. The service aspect drops a star for me otherwise I would give the food 4 stars.

I forgot about this restaurant for quite some time, after«refinding» it about three months ago, I have been back four times. The salads are divine! The fact you can get an oyster salad as part of your entrée is just crazy! The Ceasar salad has a great tasting fresh Parmesan cheese. The great quality steak entrees still come with a side and a salad. We have tried pasta, steak and lobster. The diverse sides are good as well. We love the mushrooms and mash potatoes. Very happy with the entire experience. I am so glad to «refind» this locally owned jewel.

I always enjoy lunch at this location. Service is always great. The food is excellent yesterday I enjoyed a salad with grilled salmon. We even took a dessert back to the office to share. Wonderful food, excellent service, every time I go for lunch. I would recommend this place as a good place to enjoy a good meal every time. I’m never disappointed with this restaurant.

Went in one night on a Tuesday dressed casual and was made to feel uncomfortable because I did not look like a buisnessman, that was not the best way to start off my first experiance in a restaurant. But I digress, We had to wait for around 10 min to be acknowledged at our table, we were put in a corner so I feel it was an honest mistake. The waiter was apologetic and quickly served us from there, I had the NY strip asked for mid rare and got more of a medium. Sides were okay, overall the flavors were good but I can get a better steak elsewhere. I did greatly enjoy the shrimp topping for my steak that was seasoned greatly. All in all it was a poor experiance and the food was average. I will try again to see if it better.

The crab dip kicked things off nicely, and the steak and sides were good. My steak was more medium than medium rare, but it was still flavorful. I’m not the guy who ever sends stuff back though(blame hunger, impatience, fear). My colleague’s ribeye was medium-rare as it should have been. Service was friendly and quick(good job, Melanie), and overall it was a nice time. Chop House is convenient if you’re staying near PDI airport and is an upscale option nearby without going to downtown GBoro or High Point. The price would likely make this more of a special occasion(or business meal) place, and note they describe their steaks as «Angus»,(translated«not prime»?). Your entrée price includes a salad(choose from seven types), and a side, so that makes up for the $ 46NY strip pricing somewhat. It’s a little like the old«double your order free, just pay double shipping» infomercial line if you didn’t want both salad/side, versus a typical steakhouse a la carte menu. I would return if staying near the airport again.

I’ll start out by saying I the ambiance and the staff was wonderful. But l the food. not so much; completely disappointed. I had the grilled chicken, it was an extremely small portion and very — very dry. Wendy’s grilled chicken would actually been much better. I had the mixed fruit for my side as they don’t offer a sweet potato and no baked potato for lunch. I was very disapointed on their side selections. The fruit consited of blackberries and tangerines that tasted like they were served right out of a frozen bag. Strange selection of fruit… was no canttelope or any melon that i saw, no strawberrys and no grapes. Sorry to say the next tine I take a customer to lunch it want be the #ChopHouse at Mendenhall.

Chop House is a really nice restaurant with nice décor. The bf and I went during lunch time and it was not busy, food came quick. i got the herb chicken and the chicken was a tad bit on the dry side for me. Bf got the southern pork burger and he said it was ok. One thing that made me not like this restaurant was the server did not seem quite happy. No smile and after our entrée, he did not offer dessert, he immediately offered to bring the check. Maybe he was having a bad day, i not sure but oh well. Overall the décor was lovely and food was just alright.

mobile review I am well traveled, and have eaten at renowned restaurants all over the world. This restaurant is considered expensive. With that said, the environment/space should not be «basic,» but rather, it should parallel the prices found on the menu. I ordered lamb chops, the food was good. But, the service… Terrible. Have these servers even gone through training? Our food came out an hour and a half after being seated. My sisters 45 dollar lamb was over cooked(and she was then given raw lamb that I highly doubt would be approved by USDA to be served), my dad’s food had been sitting and was cold, and my grandmothers food was nothing more than basic. Her salmon can be sold at your local Fridays. They masked the tasteless fish by covering it in freezing cold bruschetta. I was then given my birthday cake, while we were all still eating dinner. This place has bad service. And once again, the prices DONOT parallel the food. If you want high prices, learn to deliver good food and service.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with a customer. He ordered the seafood sampler special. I so wanted to take out my phone and take a picture of it when it arrived for all my fellow Unilocalers, but decided that would be too tacky given that it was a business lunch. 3 monster shrimp cocktail, a mound of scrumptious looking lump crab meat and 6 oysters anyway you want them. If you are there and they start describing this special, just stop the server right there and order it. I had the reuben which was also very good. I appreciate that, this being a nicer restaurant, that they keep the sandwich inside the bread which allows you to politely pick up the sandwich and eat — as opposed to the local neighborhood diner that feels like they need to put a pound of meat on the sandwich. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was business professional. I’ll be back.
