Jamul Meat Market

The best prices on food! And the cardne has such a great taste. My boyfriend and I are always going here when we’re craving mexican food. And it’s also a little liquor store which can always kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Definitely recommend.

Hands-​down, the best California burrito in town! I like to buy the Mexican salsa and guacamole, and it is always very good. Very convenient if you live Jamul, as it is on your way home. I can always call and make a phone order and they will have it waiting for me, very good food and a convenient Mexican market

Best Cali burrito!!! Huge though. Then they have the monster Cali… which is bigger Han my 6lb dog lol

Tried it because the other taco shop up the hill in Jamul is overpriced and undersized on portion– glad I did. Got the Cali burrito — excellent. And too big to eat in one sitting. Been here a couple times since and I always have lunch the day after with the leftovers. They have fresh meats in the case as well if you prefer to take it home and cook it yourself– tasty and pretty cheap too. I would definitely recommend.

My boyfriend brought me to this place when I told him I wanted to try some real cali burrito. I have to say… it was delicious and HUGE [that’s what she said ;) ]

Total hole in the wall… but aren’t those the BEST?
I’ve been to this general store/​butcher shop/​taco shop a few times since I’ve moved out to Jamul. I’ve never personally tried their hot foods served here, but my Dad says they are great.
I can however vouch for the butcher counter. I’ve purchased lean ground hamburger meat, marinated chicken & carne asada, as well as non-​marinated carne.
The meat is always fresh and absolutely delicious.
There is a small cooler at the front counter that has homemade guac and salsas. I bought a tub of the guacamole and my guests destroyed it in like 2.5 seconds. I’ll be sure to get at least 2 tubs next time. They also sell hot carrots by the tub in this refrigerated space that are super yummy :)
Ill be back soon to try a Breakfast Burrito and hopefully some tamales. Ill let you know how that goes :)

been looking all over east county for good burritos. I’ve Lived right down the street from here for 2 years and today i finally tried it. Burritos are HUGE! and the prices are great. Got a double California burrito for $ 7.25. The fries were cooked really well, the meat is good. Overall everything was awesome! The environment and people who worked there were friendly. Defiantly my new spot!

You ever get that craving for a California or Pollo Asado burrito where you can taste it? I do. This place is the cure if your in Jamul. The burritos are too big in a good way. True foot-​longs.
I gave it a 4 star because the quality is determined by who is behind the grill. Look for the owner, Jaime.

Uh… no contest the best California buritto I have ever had

Just went today for my third visit and I must remind myself to come visit more often. I’ve had tamales, tacos, beans, delicious salsa, and many other things, and everything has been great! I have a soft spot for the Mexican restaurants down the hill in Rancho, but this place deserves your business! Jaime is super friendly and the place is a real gem.

The Jamul Meat Market is a thing of legend! It’s a teeny hole in the wall that’s part butcher part connivence store part taco shop and bout 500% awesome! The owner Jaimé is almost always behing the griddle and makes some of the best burritos in San Diego. His California burrito is a sight to behold and not for the faint of heart… errr, stomach. I usually order a small and it comes out a little bigger than a normal burrito. I have heard rumor of the extra large or triple which comes on a tray and hangs over the edges.
Their pre marinated carne asada and pollo asada is very authentic and their chips and roasted salsa is fabulous!
Highly recommended.
