Tried to find this place based on awesome Unilocal reviews but couldn’t find it based on map directions. I think it’s out of business. Too bad. Sounded delicious.

Love this place big time. In any other state this would be a 6 star BBQ place. Never disappointed

If you’re new to Jarrell, you have got to try this place. It’s like eating at Grandma’s for Sunday dinner EVERY day of the week. The owners take care and make most everything from scratch. Just had the potato salad, and it was as good as it gets. Homemade Slaw also, plus a host of other daily vegetables from«Mimi’s Pantry»,(apparently the owners grandmother’s recipes) and she could cook! Reasonably priced, friendly and great Sunday dinners. We go there whenever we’re in town!

As a confirmed foodie, I’ve discovered lately that some of the best places turn out to be not in the Big City, but on the outskirts, or even a bit further out. And, as a confirmed foodie, I’m willing to travel. Fortunately, to eat at Ruby’s, I only have to go five minutes from the ranch into Jarrell. My husband and I stopped by Ruby’s a while after it had opened, wanting to eat, but not wanting to cook OR drive all the way into Georgetown. BOY, are we glad we did. Everything we’ve eaten there has been good(good home cooking, from grandma’s recipes), but let me just say that they make the very best chicken fried steak I’ve had in my 60 years of eating them. There is a secret, but I’m not going to share it — you have to eat one, and then ask the proprietor. They also are a bakery, but I’ve never had any of their baked goods. Somehow, I’m always too full after eating there and not being able to leave a single bite go unsavored to try them. Some day, I’ll go in just for those. But if they are equal in quality to the breakfast and lunch and dinners, they’re outstanding. I recommend taking a drive out to try it. Or, if you’re heading to points north on I35, take Exit 275, turn right just before the truck stop, and grab a bite at Ruby’s to sustain you on your journey.
