This was our first time at FATZ and boy was it awesome. Dana was always smiling and friendly. I would highly recommend asking for her. After telling her that this was our first time to FATZ, she got us a sample of the calabash chicken. Our group ordered a variety of entrees and only had positive things to say about each. Great experience for us!

The staff was very friendly, quick, and attentive. The food wasn’t worth coming back for. Wife ordered a chef salad that came out in a cold bowl with a cold fork like it was pre-made and chilled before dinner service. I ordered the sirloin steak and ribs meal. The ribs came out cold. Steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. All three kids meals were exactly what we would expect. Not a bad experience, but with so many other dinner spots around Jasper/Ellijay, it’s just not worth a return trip.

We ate here one night while we were looking at houses in the area. The food was great, atmosphere pleasant, and our server, Jenni, was awesome! Thanks for a relaxing, fun evening after an exhausting day!

They have improved on a few things. Pros are Quality of ribs more consistent, Potato soup is indeed now tasty, portions are more generous and food came out more quickly. Cons are beer remains over-priced. Same beer is half the price at another local place New menu is significantly higher priced and a few affordable favorites were removed. Food is mostly previously frozen, not fresh. We always look for value for our money. Unfortunately, Pricing remains a deterrent to going here but a few times a year at best.

Food was great, and as it was our first time they brought out some samples of their chicken to try, it was pretty good. The poppy seed bread was amazing, however, it’s more of a dessert than an actual appetizer. As for entrees, the food was great, not the best though. I had a burger and I wasn’t disappointed nor was I impressed either. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was alright, nothing extravagant to comment about.

The service was excellent. The waiter recommended a drink that the bartender created for valentine’s day special and it was quite good. The rolls they bring are also good although more like a sweet poppyseed doughnut than a dinner roll. The house salad was fine nothing special. The appetizer of fried green tomatoes was very good. Had cheese on it wwhich I didn’t t expect and was a nice addition. They were on a bed of cheese grits which were ok. The main dish was the 10 oz sirloin. Cooked well for medium rare but was kinda tough. The flavor was good though. The side of veggies were fine steamed nice but kinda bland. All in all an acceptable meal. The staff was very accomadating to our request to share meals and efficient time wise. The price was fair. Would good back again but order a different main dish.

Extremely overpriced for generic prefab food. Service takes FOREVER. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We were first time visitors to this place and we came away impressed. The Calabash chicken ans shrimp were a very good choice. My wife kept bragging on the blackened chicken pasta all the way home. The servers were attentive and nice. This is a chain so it does lack some uniqueness but it is definitely worth a visit.

Ask for the«Michael» salad as your side salad… Hamburger was great. Chinese Chicken Salad with edamame… a nice treat… They will even leave the green peppers out. Nice all around restaurant in Jasper if you are going with a variety of folks.

My mom and I recently ate at this Fatz and have several times in the past. It definitely isn’t as good as it first opened, but I say it’s still decent. I got the Big City Reuben with sweet potato fries and overall it was good. The fries were very good, and the sandwich was good, except for it being a little soggy and too salty. My mom had the same problem with her sandwich, but I tried it and thought it was still tasty. Overall, the experience was good. The waitress wasn’t the best, but she wasn’t bad either. We didn’t have their peach cobbler this time, but it is to die for! In the end I would just be careful what you order. Some plates are good while some are not. For example, I don’t think their calabash chicken is as good as it used to be, but their chicken pot pie is good. As for this visit, the experience was good.

An adequate spot for lunch, but nothing spectacular or memorable. It’s a chain. Think Applebee’s with a drawl. I ordered the Hickory Burger. My wife ordered the«Fatz Famous Fish.» The burger had a crispy edge, while the rest was medium, as ordered. I was wondering how they managed the crispness when my wife suggested that it was a frozen burger which was slightly concave, allowing them to get the edge caramelized while the rest thawed on the grill. I hope she’s wrong, but she seldom is. I also ordered a side of the onion straws. These were well-made and not overly seasoned. My wife’;s fish was described in the menu as ‘Light, flaky white fish.” Note that there is no species mentioned, nor were we able to discern one from the fillet that was presented. It was well-prepared but I doubt that my wife would order the«mystery fish» were we to return.

It’s a good fast food chain in Jasper, GA. It has good days and bad days where food is concerned. It may be good, it may be bad like blah. I don’t mean bad like they serve bad food, just bland and overcooked sometimes. It is a go-to restaurant especially when you can’t think of any placeto go, or drive away from Jasper.

What a great place. The service is great and the food is awesome. Try the calabash chicken salad. They also have great hamburgers. We have been to this location and the one in Athens both are good.

I thought I’d take a few minutes & get caught up on a couple of reviews! My wife & I had been traveling around looking for a Honda GoldWing trike & took a trip to Jasper, GA to a dealership there. While we were there, we realized we were famished & ‘Yelped’ the area restaurants. Someone in our group recognized the name of the establishment named FATZ. All I can tell you is OHMYGOODNESS!!! The service was impeccable, the food was fabulous & the atmosphere was FUN! If you EVER get close to Jasper, GA, it will be worth the drive. By the way, we did find that trike!!!

If you want a good meal, this is a good choice. I love the Calabash chicken and loaded baked potato soup! The prices are average. My one complaint? The service is hit or miss. We eat here about once a year(thanks to a gift card from an employer). In the five years we’ve been coming here, I can recall one visit with exceptional service.

I feel neither here nor there about this restaurant. It was very quiet here. Things came out from the kitchen slowly and our server, while very nice, disappeared a LOT. Food was ok at best but the bread was amazing or should i sat the butter for the bread. The place reminds me of a Applebee’s or other chain restaurant. Anyway, like I said, the food was decent — and the pricing was fair. We may be back, but its not top of my list of return places.

This place looks like any typical Chili’s/Applebees type of place, but it does that concept with a down-home southern flair. The food is a cut above what you’d find at those other establishments, and the service is 100% top-notch. You may feel overwhelmed by the sheer friendliness and joy of the staff here, if you aren’t used to the people in the rural South. The calabash chicken(their specialty fried tenders) really is good, and you can tell the coleslaw is made in house, as are most of their dishes. It’s also open later than most other places in and around Jasper. Give FATZ a try!

Just a great place to have a family meal with a wide variety of selections. I’m sure there is something for everyone on the menu. I give only 3 stars because they are like a typical Applebee’s with décor and menu but they also go the extra mile with alot of the basic southern favorites on the menu. Think of this place like Outback meets chili’s, meets Folks. My husband loves the fried green tomato with bologna sandwich. You can’t go wrong here when you need to please a big group! Enjoy!
