This is a Wyndham hotel now. I’ve stayed here both before and after they’ve remodeled and the only upgrades I’ve noticed are basically a new coat of paint in the hallway and upgraded mattresses. During this stay, the first room they put me in had a funky odor and was right next to the maintenance room. There were trash filled bags outside the room, some tools, and an air pump. I promptly called the front desk and they were very apologetic(almost too programmatically apologetic) and I was switched out of the room. The second room smelled clean but not even 5 minutes after I turned on the AC unit it started sputtering and making sounds as if it had an electrical short in it. Not a deal breaker as I travel with ear plugs. In the morning, the smell of cigarette smoke(which is not the hotels fault, but rather disrespectful hotel guests who know they shouldn’t be smoking in a non-smoking hotel but do it anyway). Room had both a fridge and microwave. The second room had a nicer(but still a cheap model) TV than the first, so I guess the quality of furnishings depends on which room they assign you. The bathroom was small and cramped. There is a small bar/lounge area in the lobby next to the breakfast room. I originally thought, «Great! A place to grab a couple drinks and relax.» However, some other patrons got pretty drunk, loud and rowdy, which pretty much ruined the experience. There is a small workout room which I didn’t try. Pros: close to Capital, decent beds Cons: noisy, dated Since the remodel they have also hiked up their prices. I do not think it’s worth staying here anymore.

I have really enjoy staying at the Baymont in the past. They are a bike and pet friendly hotel. I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years(I have family attending Lincoln and living in Jefferson City). I would give Baymont Inn 4 stars, but the last time I stayed there the hotel just did not seem as well kept as it has been in the past. I am not sure if this is due to new management or a lack of employees. I also noticed that the prices of the rooms have increased ~$ 15 to $ 20 per night. Now, I can understand that prices sometimes go up, but it seems like this last increase was a huge leap! I actually would not complain about the price increase if the breakfast that they offered remained the same. Apparently, hot breakfast is no longer offered or is only offered on select days(I did not received hot breakfast at anytime during my weekend stay which makes me wonder, when do they actually bring out the eggs???). For years, I have become accustomed to having breakfast sausage, hot potatoes, eggs, and having the option of using the waffle maker. All of these options were no longer available when I stayed there for the weekend in September. All of the options were flour based(toast, biscuits, cereal, etc) which are all a «no-no» for me because I have a senstivitiy to gluten(…I would make my own GF waffle mix to use in the waffle maker.). If I have to calculate in purchasing breakfast while staying at this hotel, it is no longer affordable. So, I relunctanly have to drop my rating one star. I will be looking at other bike and pet friendly hotels in the area that has better house keeping and more choices for breakfast.

We reserved this hotel room Thursday night — Sunday morning for parents weekend at Mizzou. We called earlier in the week to explain that we wanted all three nights, but that we would not be checking in until early Friday morning(around 9am). When we arrived at the hotel we were told that our reservation was cancelled and that there were no available rooms. They tried to explain that Expedia had called and cancelled our reservation, but when we called Expedia they still showed us with a valid reservation and assured us they had not cancelled anything. They simply said there were no rooms and there was nothing they could do about it. They did not try to accommodate us nor did they provide us any help. We were lucky enough to find one hotel room for Friday night and another for Saturday. The front desk was rude and unhelpful the entire time. STAYAWAY!

I really appreciated the staff at this very dog friendly hotel! I had to stay in this one room with a very nervous little dog that never was in a hotel before. The staff was super nice and didn’t complain that she barked every time I left the room. The free breakfast is great. It’s an older hotel that they’re trying to renovate but the room was good and clean. I couldn’t let housekeeping come into the room because of dog and they put fresh towels and stuff outside of door

So far, I’ve stayed there twice and both times, I have not been impressed. The carpets in the hallways are visibly dirty. I’ve found cleanliness issues in the rooms during both of my stays. I will say, the self serve breakfast is very nice and the dining area is homey. However, based on the concerns with cleanliness, I cannot recommend this hotel. [Hmmmm, that’s funny: I just read another reviewer for this hotel mention that they were told a housekeeper had only been there a few days. That’s the same thing I was told! Wonder how many people get that explanation.]

It’s to bad that often only persons who had bad experiences write reviews. This hotel is newly renovated and well designed. The entire hotel was clean and well maintained. Great hotel bar. Every staff person I encountered over two days was friendly and went above and beyond in customer service. I’ve stayed in hotels that charge twice as much and offer half the service. Also incredibly close to a great little restaurant called Ecolounge.

The employees were friendly and helpful. Ants in the bathtub was just not cool. Wiring for lighting needs improvement. The four star reviews are misleading. It’s ok, not the worst. Supposedly remodeled recently. I didn’t see it. 2 stars– be warned.
