The food was delicious, service was great, family of six dropped by at 5:30 on a Saturday after a day at lake hartwell. No wait… family friendly… very accommodating. It’s really in the middle of nowhere… and the outside of the building is not much to look at… but nice and quaint inside. Great shrimp and grits… a great crabcake. Kids had burgers, sliders, Mac and Cheese. Menu has a great selection and lots of choices… has a bit of a farm to table feel…

Been here w/the old owners as well as the new. Both had it going on. Love the fresh brews. It is a bit pricey but if you want a great lunch/dinner w/o screaming kids etc this is the place. Menu varies w/seasonal items which is very nice. The wife never argues when I say«Let’s go to the spoon».

Stopped in after my nephew’s graduation. The food and service were exceptional. The cornbread nibblers were so good we ended up ordering another serving. Highly recommend the crab cake sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, and the black and blue burger. Desserts were delicious, too!

Great spot in Jefferson. Awesome beer list and amazing food. Kids are welcome here but if possible I would leave them at home!

This was a great little find. Thanks, Unilocal reviewers! Great selection of modestly priced items(creative burgers etc.) and small plates, along with some more substantial and pricey entrees. Everything we had was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. This place is a little hard to find — it’s tucked away in a brick building back behind a Shell gas station. But it was a great little find.

It has been awhile since my first review of The Savory Spoon, and I need to rave a bit more. Chefs Josh and Arielle, along with Front of the House Manager, Heather and all their staff teamed up with the crew from Creature Comforts Brewing in Athens, GA to put on a truly spectacular beer dinner on March 10th, 2016. A sold out house, with 60 people all seated family style, was presented with a staggeringly diverse meal of 5 food courses paired with 5 amazing beers. From curried duck confit over cauliflower/sunchoke mash, to filet mignon flash poached in a gin broth, to a diver scallop with a jerk squash custard and blood orange soaked gooseberries, the food was exciting, unique, and beautifully presented. The beer pairings which covered the spectrum of Creature Comforts offerings, were spot-on complements to the amazing flavors. My personal favorite was course #3. A roasted nectarine topped with chunks of twice cooked pork belly. This was accented with chunks of delightfully funky Ibores cheese and drizzled with a sour sop, papaya sauce and topped with pink Himalayan salt. This was served alongside Emergence Tart Wine Barrel Aged Blonde, a barrel-aged, bottle-conditioned brew with deep funky character. 5-Stars all the WAY!!! Savory Spoon and Creature Comforts are two local places that are doing it right!!! It was a decadent, sensual pleasure to take part in this fantastic evening!

At first site, we almost turned around… but don’t let the building fool you, the food is amazing. There are local beers on tap. We enjoyed the cheese plate, the prosciutto wrapped dates, and a super juicy black and blue burger. This place is the gem of Jefferson.

The service was fast and friendly. It was nice inside. My chicken was bland, but the pecan crust was great. The mash was simply fantastic. I’m not a carrot person, but the carrots were tasty. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

Without a doubt one of the best burgers I’ve had. Great service and atmosphere as well. The more special items are a bit expensive but you can’t beat a big gourmet burger for $ 12. Definitely recommend

Seriously good, local sourced menu, cooked properly with plenty of flavor. Substantial draught beer menu as well. Price is high for the area but I’d still label it a good value for the quality of the food. Excellent burgers too. You’ll have to drive to Athens to find a better restaurant.

Me and my best friend went this past Saturday for brunch. We were very impressed with our food! I started with a mimosa with peach bitters. Very good. I had the Crab Cake Benedict with cheese grits for my entrée. It was a great portion and everything tasted great. I stole a bite of my best friends shrimp and grits and next time I go, that’s what I will get! They were awesome! Service was a little slow considering we were 1 of 2 groups that was in there. Overall though, I will definitely be back!

Outstanding and a refreshing change from the norm. Prices appropriate for the amount of food given. Oh, draft beer! Lots of varieties. Good beer, great food, and decent service.

Server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a crab cake sandwich with no bun and sautéed cabbage. The crab cake was perfect. Not too much breading and perfectly seasoned. Good portion size too for a crab cake. The cabbage was delicious and seasoned well as well however, the plate was swimming in the oil they used to «sautée» it with. So much for picking a healthy side. Over all it was good and I would go back.

We both had the crab cakes, mashed potatoes and cabbage. Outstanding crab cakes and the taters were seasoned to perfectly complement the crab. The iced tea was very tasty too! Will go back again and again.

Unique menu, great food, will eat there again! Just moved to Jefferson and wanted to try something near by — this was delicious! Menu changes based on what’s available/seasonal, although there are a few reoccuring items. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, my husband had the steak — both were large portions and delicious. We also has the beer boiled peanuts, which were ok but we like normal boiled peanuts better. Not big beer drinkers, but tried the Rootbeer Beer — great! We would get again! Highly recommend you give it a go! View the menu before hand to see what’s new that night.

The Savory Spoon is a local favorite in Jefferson. Fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables are always on the menu. They offer a broad selection of wines and craft beers, which are always a favorite. We love their wine dinners and other special events. Tonight was Worldly Wednesday and they featured Korean Bulgogi – something we had never tried. It was great and so were the Crabcake Stuffed Mushrooms and the Shaved Brussel Sprouts with agave and bacon. All delicious! I love the wines and my husband always finds a craft beer to try out. Can’t comment on the desserts because we are usually too full to try them! Great portions and friendly service, too!
