The good would be the fact that the«Mix» has an inventive cuisine for breakfast… better than the standard restaurant. However, the second time I had the beet and kale hash with poached eggs, the eggs were cooked hard… not at all appealing. I received a replacement order of eggs too late. The kitchen was extremely slow on both visits.

A small restaurant about 10 minutes from Smuggler’s Notch Resort. Excellent and fresh Huevos!

I think the place was okay. I will say the bfast I got was alright! Eggs done well, pancake tasty but the only thing that disturbed me was the massive amounts of flies all over the place. Kinda made me feel the place wasn’t the cleanest.

I went here on 08⁄02 with my boyfriend, sister and her husband during our vacation in Fletcher, VT. We were curious about what other dining options Jeffersonville had to offer, as we had already tried 158 Main St. Bakery with delicious results. The Mix proved to be an excellent choice. I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich without the onions(it came with lettuce, tomato, cream cheese and capers) on wheat toast, and I had some homemade cranberry juice as well. Holy Mother of God, that cranberry juice was unlike any juice I’ve ever drank. Surely this must be the nectar the gods in ancient Greece drank up in Mt. Olympus. It was tart and sweet, but not overpowering, and there were bits and pieces of cranberry scattered throughout to give it a little extra kick. I didn’t care if it was $ 3.50 a glass; it was divine. As for my smoked salmon sandwich, I enjoyed it very much; the fishy flavor of the salmon was offset by the salty bite of the capers, and the lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh). Our server, Justin, was very friendly and prompt, and didn’t seem to mind our inability to come to a quick decision on what we wanted to order(seriously, almost all the menu options looked awesome). We promised him we’d be back for another breakfast/brunch for our return trip home, but sadly, The Mix was closed due to a local music/arts festival on the 8th. Boo! Next year, The Mix. Next year.

All four of us got something different and really liked it. I got the omlete special, beets, spinach, cheese went well together, good taters and toast, good coffee and service. Closes early. Weird but interesting apocalyptic scenery paintings on the walls. Outside tables, good menu mix, good ingredients. Soup, sandwiches, salads, egg dishes. Grits, cherizo and eggs looked good. Recommended for the food and easy mealtime.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here today. The crème brûlée French toast was delicious — almost like cake. If you have a sweet tooth get this! My breakfast of the standards(eggs, potatoes, ham, English muffins) was good. Not extraordinary but it’s a basic breakfast so it’s perfectly fine. My daughter’s pancake was very good. Coffee was just okay. Service was excellent! Cheerful, attentive, and accommodating. Décor is simple Vermont –perfect for the size and style of restaurant. If I was local I’d definitely go back. We had a decent breakfast earlier in the week at 158 Main but liked the food here much better. If you are a foodie they have lots of very interesting options. I only went simple because I’m pregnant otherwise I would absolutely have tried one of their specialty dishes!

We ate here while vacationing at Smuggler’s Notch. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the crime brûlée French toast was amazing! It’s a little rich so I recommend the half order.

It is unfortunate to give this hopeful venue a poor review. Upon entering there were 4 groups eating and a bunch of empty tables and the counter area available. All of the tables still had dirty dishes so we opted for the counter. Upon sitting down we noticed the counter was dirty so we politely sat waiting for someone to greet us, wipe it down and offer us coffee. After sitting there for roughly 10 minutes(making eye contact with all of the employees) no greetings were offered. A mother and daughter entered the restaurant who were known by the employees. Suddenly the dirty high top was cleared, wiped, and menus were given to them. After waiting a couple more minutes we still had a dirty counter surface, no coffee, no menus, no hello or greeting. For the first time in our lives we got up and left a restaurant due to poor service.

I am not one to write online reviews. Yesterday I had breakfast at the mix… Terrible. In the past it was an option to upgrade to a local egg. When I asked about it, the waiter said all our eggs are sourced local. This may be the fact now, but the quality of the egg made me suspicious. Too say I was not impressed by my meal is an extreme understatement. I was embarrassed that I recommended this restaurant. I try not to say anything bad about local businesses, but I felt the need to share. I will never go back.

Heard good things about this place, so we drove 45 minutes to try it out. We waited 40 minutes for a table and then another 30 minutes for breakfast. When breakfast finally arrived, we wished we’d stayed home. The beet and kale hash really had no flavor. Kale looked like it came out of a bag from Hannafords. Poached eggs were cooked so they were completely hard(6 or 7 minutes hard). When I asked for another order of eggs to replace my hard ones, the waiter returned to our table no fewer than 3 times to check and re-check that I really wanted to replace my hard eggs with two soft ones. I ensured him I did. 15 minutes later, when I finally received 2 more eggs, they too were completely hard. I didn’t have the heart or the patience to complain again. Also, the eggs were definitely not fresh, local farm eggs as the waiter claimed. I know fresh eggs when I eat them and these were not fresh. This place has the pretense of serving local food, but we weren’t served any. The service is slow, the food is lacking in flavor and it doesn’t appear to be cooked with any flair. No reason to return.

Really interesting selection of items: normal breakfast fare with a twist. French toast + crème brule= amazing, hash + kimchi= unique and yummy, poutine + eggs = gluttonous breakfast. Breakfast sandwich was huge. Smallish seating area makes it impossible to sit a large(5+) together. Overall, we all left happy and stuffed.

Now that was a great breakfast! The crème brule french toast was delicious. The bacon, egg, and potatoes were cooked well and seasoned perfectly. I tried the maple milk, and it tasted like a milkshake. It’s location on a sidestreet made it a little hard to find, but I’m glad we took the time to look.

The Mix used to be my favorite breakfast spot. It is still really really good, but unfortunately it isn’t quite where it used to be. They cut their menu down significantly this past year and have been out of certain items the last couple of times that I’ve been there. Also, they made the bizarre decision to eliminate printed menus. You now have to order off of what they’ve written on a chalkboard and the descriptions of each items are very vague(e.g. «breakfast flatbread» with no explanation). I find myself asking the servers way too many questions each time I’m in there and wish they’d go back to a more traditional system. Still, despite these issues I have to say that their food is still delicious, and a few items(like the famous crème brûlée french toast) are downright sensational. It’s definitely a place I’ll continue to return to, but I just hope that next time the menus come back!

Had a great breakfast here on an early morning scenic drive a few days after a big snowstorm. It wasn’t very busy, we enjoyed a few cups of coffee alongside our huevos rancheros and breakfast poutine. There were several other menu items we wanted to try, and after this enjoyable experience, I think we’ll be back for more!

Tucked back behind the jeffersonville inn and the village tavern off of church street. Not as crowded as 158 main, but the food is just as good if not better. I had kimchi sausage hash with poached eggs and fresh baked rye toast. I had high hopes and was not disappointed. The kimchi added a really nice bite to the sausage and potatoes, and the poached eggs ran all over everything the only way it should be. A little siracha and ketchup complimented everything quite nicely!

Four words: Crème Brulee French Toast. This breakfast dish is seriously life-altering. You will not be sorry. I came here with my family while on a ski vacation at Smugglers Notch, and thanks to Unilocal,we found this little gem. It’s a little out of the way, and it’s easy to blow past the tiny sign, but once you’re inside, get ready for a treat. I’m no stranger to quaint Vermont breakfast spots, but this is one of the best I’ve been to. The French Toast was to die for — a custardy, blueberry-smothered hunk of heaven. Others in my party had the huevos rancheros and the breakfast flatbread, both of which were also delicious. They serve tea in these adorable glass beakers that keep the tea relatively warm. The service was great. The waitress was very friendly, the staff seemed generally happy to be there, and the other patrons looked well-fed. Prices were low — while I definitely have a higher threshold for that, coming from Manhattan, this place is really affordable.(Entrees were all around $ 8.) Check this spot out for a great breakfast!

We really enjoyed our dining experience at The Mix. We ate here on a rainy Sunday morning. I ordered a hot chocolate which was a perfect addition to a chilly morning. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. He liked it and he ate it, but he did feel that it was a little too oniony. He’s really picky when it comes to onions though. I had the famous Crème Brûlée French Toast with Drunken Blueberries. It totally lived up to it’s hype. It was SO good. The service was great. We had a great experience.

This the favorite brunch spot of my nieces-in-law, who grew up in a neighboring town. All the ingredients are fresh, and they add their own, gourmet, creative touches to their omelets, french toast, and other breakfast items. In the fall, my husband, niece, and I all ordered the Breakfast Flatbread($ 8) sausage, apple, caramelized onion, and cheddar with rounds of potatoes underneath and a sunny side-up egg on top, home fries. I ate all of mine — inhaled it, really, and then foraged from my husband’s plate.(The gentleman pretended to not notice) On another occasion, I had the seasonal omelette — on that spring day, it included tender fiddlehead(baby fern, for the uninitiated), black beans, caramelized onion, and cheddar. A lovely Mix. They have great homefries, soft slices with a hearty potato flavor. I also love their cinnamon bread, and the strawberry jam seems homemade – excellent One of my favorites, though, is indeed the crème brûlée french toast(8 $) 2 triangles, 2 inches thick of dense, eggy, heaven in your mouth — though I needed more syrup. I don’t drink coffe, but while my husband says it’s «eh…,» my daughter declared it good. A solid place to have a better-than-usual, out-of-the-ordinary breakfast.
