Went in for our anniversary. The waitress Christina was very friendly and attentibe. The place has beautiful views. We sat at a lovely table with a beach view. The décor is upscale and romantic. We ordered our food and you can actually see the Chefs prepare your meal, as they are out front. The pastry Vhef even made us a special anniversary dessert. Food was great! Can’t wait to go back!

Wow. Just wow. We went to the restaurant early Sunday night, off season, maybe two couples other than us. The young waiter wasn’t very attentive but very friendly. We ordered a chopped salad and sea bass with a lobster tail. Sea bass with a lobster tail may possibly be the best food we have ever eaten. Sea bass was juicy and tender. The white sauce was flavorful and lobster tail is acting as a garnish but works so well with the spinach and roasted potatoes. We are always amazed by Westin and its hotels, but this is an exceptionally good restaurant with Westin. That’s why we love Westin.

It’s new, shiny and has killer views of the ocean. The tranquility of Jekyll Island is still felt at this restaurant and they have a nice small bar with a good vodka selection. Yes, I am talking about shots of belvedere flowing all night. Breakfast experience was good and service was impeccable. There was an incident that we were given rotten avocado on the plate(yuk, see the picture). Other than that, Georgia shrimp fish and eggs Benedict were very good. Room service experience was also good here. I’ve ordered their panini and it was spectacular. They were quick and professional about bringing the food to the room in under 30 min. If it’s warm enough, make sure to grab a seat on the outside patio. You’ll hear the ocean waves breaking, feel the breeze, it’s an unforgettable breakfast experience.

My Black Orchid Martini was PERFECTION. I also had the Salmon Trio appetizer, crab cakes, and sea scallops, which were all amazing. I sat at the bar, but there is an indoor dining area and an outdoor dining area, as well. The bartender, Brian, was very helpful in describing various items on the menu to help me make my selections. You should definitely eat here while visiting the island!

Two nights — two different experiences We dined here during our stay on Jekyll Island at the Westin in early August. The first night was just about perfect — the food, service by Sequoya and Ashley and the entire evening.(We loved the Burrata, the Cesar salad, the beet salad, scallops(thought serving was small) and the crab cakes). The second night it was a totally different experience when we were not assigned to Sequoya. There were long waits for all aspects of the service. Some dishes were brought out 2x and we could not get the check at the end of the meal. Although all were apologetic and drinks were on the house, it just seemed like a shame to have such a different experience. It is an ideal location and the staff is lovely — better management of time seems to be a factor!

Great service and ambiance. The Grits in the Shrimp and Grits were runny and somewhat flavorless. The menu offered was a 1⁄3 of the menu online. Super disappointed in the choices. No real seafood available which was part of the attraction to visit the Westin Jekyll Island …Hope they can offer the full menu soon so we will come back.

Excellent healthy and delicious options! Enjoyed the quinoa, redskin potatoes and Brussels. Chef Greg was most accommodating for food allergies and went the extra mile on my order. The restaurant manager Nick was also extremely helpful as was Brian at the bar. Look forward to dining here again on my next visit to Jekyll.

There are barely any places to eat at on the island so this may be your only option. I ate here for lunch and dinner and it’s hit or miss for me. For dinner, I had the Shrimp & Grits which was priced at $ 35. At this price I’m expecting pure perfection. The serving size was relatively small compared to similar dishes I’ve had around the area. The shrimp was very dry and the entire meal was extremely bland with very little seasoning. The service was good and the location along the water is nice. I just wish the food was a little better.

The Westin at Jekyll Island just opened, and we were one of the first people who were not hotel executives to eat at The Reserve, which is the main restaurant at the hotel. As you might expect, everything is brand new and elegant. The view from the restaurant(and the outside deck) is spectacular. The 4-tops inside near the windows, however, have a couch on one side which is just a wee bit too low for my tastes, but some folks might find that comfortable. There are other tables with traditional chairs, however. The full-service bar is well-stocked and looks like the kind of place you could get a well-shaken Martini. However, since this was just lunch, we settled for a bottle of wine. The wine list is extensive, without being ostentatious. Prices seem to range from the low 30’s to the mid 60’s. We settled for a 14 Hands Chardonnay from Washington State, for $ 32, which was crisp and dry and white wine. The lunch menu is extensive and has everything from shrimp bisque to Paella. We had the fish and chips and the Reuben sliders, although the fish tacos looked good. The fish and chips include two fairly large nice pieces of fish, expertly breaded and fried and very hot. The come with fries which were crisp and properly cooked. The Reuben sliders were popular, and are made with applewood smoked bacon instead of corned beef. Very nice, although I thought if the bun was toasted slightly that would have been a plus. The food arrived quickly and the service was efficient, which is unusual for Jekyll Island(outside of the club or the bistro, historically). Our server was friendly and we recognized her from the club(this is a small town, folks!). The entrees were about $ 15 each, which is reasonable for a hotel of this stature. Overall, the liquor bill exceeded the food bill(always a good sign) by two dollars. This is a promising start for a brand-new hotel and a brand-new«downtown» Jekyll, which is slated to open later this month(with more to follow). We look forward to returning again, perhaps for a more formal dinner with friends, or to try out Harry’s, the soon-to-open rooftop lounge. Good Luck, Westin! And welcome to Jekyll Island!
