well, the Banana bread was absolutely AMAZING. Best I have ever had. Hands down and it automatically came with my salad. The bread and server it what made me give 3 stars. Its a mom&pop shop, where«Jan» bakes everything herself. So bakery items are quite freaking delicious. Reason for the 3 stars is becuase the place was kinda dirty. Sorry but true. Silverware was not the best, and my boyfriend kinda threw a fit that we ate there as we were leaving after he used the bathroom… I didnt see it or walk around much at all. He did. I know this place is a Jensen Beach little staple & gem. & truly the staff is friendly, polite, warm. Bakery items deserve 5 stars on their own. Unfortunately I dont think im going to be able to convince my boyfriend to come back,(or myself) after the unsanitary experience. Maybe we caught you guys on an off day? I hope so because the it was a positive world around town:/

The California Omelet was great, but the real jewel of my breakfast was the waffles! Unbelievable, homemade waffles! My wife had the pancakes and had high praise for them, as well.

As others have said, the blueberry french toast and cinnamon roll french toast are to die for. We also gorged on their eggs, bacon and sausage, with coffee, and the entire meal was quite delicious… probably the best since we arrived in Florida a month ago. Also, the price was right and even though the place was full when we arrived, we just sat at the bar and it was fine. Highly recommended!

I had the meat lovers omelette and everything in that meal was great. From the omelette, to the hash browns, to the toast, everything was on point. I would say I have a pretty big appetite but I couldn’t even finish the omelette on my own. You’re given more than enough. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Great food for a great price!

Prices are a little high for breakfast in my opinion. But the food is excellent! And having baked goods you can take with you to nibble on rest of the day is awesome as well. Tried the bananas foster French toast. As well as biscuits and gravy and blueberry muffin. We loved it all. Service was excellent and very friendly. Will definitely return.

I’ve been going to Jan’s for years whenever I’m in the area. The menu is an extensive mix of breakfast and lunch options depending on your mood. The portions are generous! Be sure to get a slice of their loaf– a different baked daily(banana nut, blueberry, etc.). The location has changed many times over the past few years but the management and service have always been consistent.

What a wonderful place for a family breakfast! Was nearby on vacation, so price wasn’t as important as it might be at other times. It is pricey for a breakfast place but you get so much quality food you probably wouldn’t want to make it a twice a week habit if you valued your health, anyway. It also has a Long menu with tons of unique stuff, including plenty of fancy omelets with fresh seafood(I had a Neptune Omelet with scallops and shrimp that was absolutely outstanding). They throw Bearnaise Sauce around like it was a condiment and it was a great addition. And having a Mimosa with breakfast while on vacation is not a bad thing, either. The waitress(Doreen) was a joy and all the staff was very high energy on a busy morning. My wife liked the decorations almost as much as her food. All in all a great find.

I’m from out of town visiting for the holidays and gave this place a try for breakfast. I loved the friendly waitresses, the homey atmosphere, and most of all the yummy food! They are 30 – 40 mins out from where I am staying but I will definitely go back for more! I had the banana foster french toast and neptune eggs benedict(giant scallop, crab, shrimp all topped with lobster sauce & all in generous amounts).

Local breakfast &a Brunch restaurant. Reminds me of Hoagies in Minneapolis(MN). Homemade dishes. Outdoor and indoor seating. We loved it so much that we stopped in everyday for late breakfast/brunch. They open early and close at 3pm. One day per week — They are open on Thursdays until 9pm. Homemade corned beef hash is Devine! Their potato spuds are amazing. Dishes are served with a side of sour cream, apple sauce and maple syrup. They have mimosas if you would like! Amazing pies and bakery with take home items. Fun shops across the street. Clean, causal. Great service. No waiting. Always full. We will be returning!

Jan’s has been a breakfast staple in the community since I was an infant. I remember my parents taking my sister and I to Jan’s after church many Sundays, as I scarfed down their delicious pancakes. Although they’ve moved locations over the years, the service and the fare have remained top notch. We dined in for Sunday brunch, a party of seven, and were accommodated warmly by the owner(Bob, Jan’s husband I believe). My Benedict was excellent. A massive sized California-style Benedict, which left me full and satisfied. Sliced, grilled chicken, tomatoes, avocados and spinach. Talk about your new favorite spin on breakfast! If I had one critique, it’d be that the English muffin was undercooked, making it tough to cut through. Minor setback to a fantastic meal. Coffee is served in various kinds of mugs, which is unique and gives guests something to ramble about. All of us were content with our meals, from Benedicts, omelets and French Toast breakfast sandwiches. Jan’s — keep on doing your thing, because you guys are rockstars!

Solid breakfast spot if your in the area. Pricing is a bit more than most would normally spend on breakfast eating out, but the food does justify the price. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgable. I had their special which was French toast with coconut and pineapple(the name of the dish eludes me at this time). It was very filling and definitely unique. If I’m ever up this way I will go back.

I’m so glad we found Jan’s place. They have a huge menu filled with all the traditional breakfast fare, but then with a wide selection of benedicts, stuffed french toast and all kinds of specialty dishes. Eggs benedict is not something I would normally order but occasionally it strikes my fancy and when the server said it was one of their specialties, I could turn down the opportunity. It was delicious, well balanced and had a perfectly executed poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Everyone at the table was thrilled with their food, from omelets and cinnamon roll french toast to steak and eggs. The prices are on the high side for breakfast but that’s because many of their items include premium ingredients such as filet, shrimp or crab. With 5 adults and one baby it was nice they had a big table in a sort of out of the way location. However, I hope that they are planning to do a little more with the addition to the right as it felt a little like we were tucked away into storage lol.

Local Jensen beach breakfast food of the Gods with great location! Had the chicken fried steak, nice and crunchy, properly seasoned and coated with pretty good sausage gravy. Side of biscuits and hash browns, served piping hot and served less than 10 mins after ordering. Other dishes for my group included smoked lox on toasted bagel with cream cheese, capers, lettuce & tomato, all excellent. Place was packed, will return to try the pancakes.

As the late Lawrence Welk would say; Wunnerful, Wunnerful. We stopped for a late Saturday breakfast and the food couldn’t have been any better, along with efficient, prompt friendly service. The resident navigator(I didn’t know where Jensen Beach was) decided on a simple Western Omelette. Four inches high would not be an exaggeration and just huge, chocked full of ham, red peppers, onion and cheese. It must be baked as there was no browning on the outside which to me is a sign of an omelette cooked too quickly and not properly. Served with two excellent pancakes(or half waffle choice) and the wonderful potato cakes — more on that later. I went with a breakfast sandwich; French toast, ham, swiss and egg, served with syrup. Kind of a Monte Cristo with egg where the turkey would be. It’s touted as a sandwich but so large it required a knife and fork. Eggs were fluffy and included a real slice of ham, not a slice or two of deli ham. Each breakfast included two potato cakes served with both sour cream and applesauce. Not quite as large as tennis balls(but damn close) and seem to be formed mash potatoes, small chunks of diced red potatoes and quickly deep fried — not greasy at all. I know I’m missing some other ingredients — but these things are both creative and fabulous. Do not miss these. There is care and creativity in the kitchen and if I lived closer to Jensen Beach I would eat my way through damn near everything on the breakfast menu, so many choices and so little time. They also offer lunch and close midday. Let those pictures do the talking. Love this place!

I was visiting a friend in Stuart for the weekend and she said that we absolutely had to go to Jan’s Place for breakfast. Its on a small street full of touristy shops and restaurants. There isn’t much parking aside from the street and a little metered spot at the end of the road, so go early if you can, the place really fills up fast. It’s not surprising either because as soon as you walk past Jan’s place, all you can see through the window is a huge display of all of their baked goods like homemade bread pudding, muffins, cakes etc. The smell was amazing too so I completely understood why my friend said we had to go there! First the restaurant is SOCLEAN! Especially since it looks like a diner but a really clean one, lol! It was completely packed at 10:30am on a Sunday but there were 2 seats available at the counter so we decided to grab them. It kind of added to the diner feel actually sitting up there with the old guys reading their paper and our waitress was super nice. I was indecisive as to what type of eggs benedict I wanted to order since they had a few listed that I liked. The waitress suggested the Cajun Steak Benedict which is 2 Filet medallions lightly blackened with Hollandaise sauce. I had to try it and I am so glad that I did it was really delicious! My only complaint is that they really skimped on the hash browns. My friend ordered the Farmers’ Daughter Omelet that had a bunch of veggies in it and so much cheese inside my friend could twirl it with her fork! Overall we loved our meals and I really want to come back now for the French Toast and Pancakes!

If you are vacationing on Hutchinson Island, this is your casual breakfast spot. Family owned and operated, Jan’s Place is a Jensen Beach institution. The current location offers table, counter, and out-door dining. Attached to the restaurant is a bakery filled with muffins, breakfast breads, and cookies all baked in house. Portions are huge, in fact you may want to share. It is easy to see how everyone can have a different favorite here. The menu is large and there are three to four daily specials each morning. Blueberry French Toast and Cinnamon Roll French Toast are show stoppers. Drinks are filled quickly and plates cleared instantly. Overall Jan’s has a Diner vibe to it. Most of the staff are witty and quick on their feet. Come as you are or dressed for the beach. We will be back next time we are in Hutchinson Island.

Guter, netter Service. Grosse Auswahl an Frühstück. Sehr reichlich. Leider wenig Tische draussen. French toast mit Rührei und einem kleinen Burger ist nicht die ideale Kombination für Deutsche Gaumen, Mehr zu empfehlen ist Amerikan Breakfeast.
