U-Haul Moving & Storage of Jericho NY

If I could give them a zero star review if I could. I made a reservation for a cargo van one way to NYC. I get here and they tell they don’t have any one way rentals and reservation was moved to Huntington. I was scheduled to move and now I can’t. The people were totally not helpful… can’t deal with anything out of the ordinary. I called U Haul customers service… unbelievable…I got transfered back and forth and no one could help resolve this… then I get disconnected. I will never rent from U Haul again! Find another company! I should have realized they were inept when the last time I rented from this location I returned the truck woth the correct amount of gas and it took me two months and five phone calls to get a credit.

Incredibly poor service avoid at all costs! The employee that wasted my time for awhile seemed to enjoy it so much. I will never be back and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place. The other customers waiting behind me voiced the same sentiments.

This is by far the worst place to rent a truck. The General Manager Marco Penuela has no clue behind the desk. A few years ago I reserved a truck and when I went to pick it up, he said he didn’t have one and sent me to a location in Hicksville. He has a sign behind him that says they would give you $ 50 if the truck you reserve is not there, when I pointed to that and asked for it he danced around a lot of mumble jumble and did not honor it. I again, needing a truck reserved one to move my mothers dining room set 5 days ago, received a confirmation 2 days ago and even checked in on line to avoid waiting. When I showed up at 9:35 AM for a 10:00AM pick up, he again didn’t have my truck and said I could get one in Bellerose, Queens. Probably 20 miles away opposite of my direction. I had no choice but to do this and a 2 hour quick move turned out to be 6 hour day killing chore. It cost me extra time, extra mileage that charges you $ 1.89 per mile and 2 angry friend that were helping me. It seems that Marco is not organized at all, he has a lot of trouble with the computer, his phone is 5 feet away and is constantly going back and forth while everyone on line is bristling. Never ever will I use this place again. I did shame him in to giving me $ 50 this time after ranting in front of the people behind me. They SUCK. I would not give them a star but without doing so I can not post this.

I guess if you are buying boxes they are just fine– try renting a vehicle — I dare you.
Total incompetence from start to finish. Took me a long time to *get* the truck and a long time to give it back to them.
One guy working there– although he tries hard, the computer is clearly kicking his ass…
I’ll try something else next time…
