Chill and relaxed. No frills dive bar here. Locals may seem a bit perplexed by a «young» crowd coming through… But that shouldn’t prevent you from checking out the place. I look forward to coming back — especially in the summer to hang on the porch. Only makes me wish I had a dog to bring here.

Came here for the annual pig roast and had a great time. Love that this place is dog friendly! Brought my pups and Brazicki’s was so gracious to them. Drinks are well made and very affordable. It’s definitely a locals place but the people were very nice and definite sports fans. Great neighborhood joint.

After our local«lets grab a drink» joint closed(RIP Monaghan’s Tavern) we needed to start exploring some other watering holes in the Heights. Enter Brazickis Tavern. We read on Unilocal that they allowed dogs but we decided to call before bringing the beast. Good thing we did, you four legged friend isn’t allowed inside the bar but they are more than welcome to hang out on a leash with you at a table outside the bar. The super friendly bartendress even came out and gave our guy some treats! Brazickis seems like a total local bar. Everyone knows each other and it’s located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The inside is nothing special and it has the feel like you’re hanging in your friends basement(except their parents aren’t going to yell at you for making too much noise). The drinks are cheap, the vibe is chill and they have Buckhunter. What else could you want from a bar 2 blocks from the 1⁄9?

Good find. The owners are great, the prices are great, and to top it all off, there’s a *DOG* who hangs out there. Bar dog = perfection. There’s not much selection, and it’s not a classy place — but you’re not going here for that. A fine spot to spend a night hanging out with a few friends.

If you ever find yourself longing for that super small town vibe, Brazicki’s Tavern just might be the spot for you. This bar is tucked into a residential street near a dead end road, away from most of the hustle and pseudo-bustle that is more commonplace in Jersey City. When you first enter the bar, the locals may look at you like you’re a bit strange. The crowd here tends to all know each other and they just might be wondering how you even found the place. Once you get over the initial discomfort of having a ton of strangers stare straight through you, you can enjoy a true local vibe. While Brazicki’s does not accept credit cards(always a huge negative in my book), the drinks are cheap enough that you can enjoy a night there without feeling like you need a metal briefcase to carry your loot in. The bartenders, who totally employ the slow local pub pace, mix a strong drink and are always very friendly. The problem, however, is they also know everyone and sometimes you will have to actually interrupt a long-winded conversation to get a drink. There is a pool table in the middle of the floor which you don’t usually have to wait too long to get a game in. Just beware walking around. The local pool players will rarely stop a game to avoid impaling you with a stick. The rest of the bar isn’t exactly spacious but there’s rarely a big enough crowd for that to be bothersome. In warmer weather, there’s also a little outdoor area where you can sit with your drink that’s always pleasant. Part of the local charm of Brazicki’s is that it’s partly run by the family matriarch who loves to cook and often has free buffet style food set out for everyone. It seems to always be someone’s birthday or milestone event and they love to celebrate with a free meal. For drinks that cheap and delicious food for free 99, I have no problem making the occasional pitstop here.

This little tavern on a side street in a little neighborhood area of Jersey City truly is a place«where everybody knows your name…» It is frequented by locals who are very friendly and accommodating. There’s a pool table and a couple of TVs so you can watch a game while having a beer or something stronger to drink.
