First and foremost, the food is very flavorful. I was so impressed with the quality and taste, and this is my new go to place for Indian. There must be a dozen restaurants in the area and I’ve tired most. This place is on a whole other level. I knew I had to give a review. I am still in disbelief this place only has 3 starts and 2 reviews. They had a prior location and reopened down the street, but the Unilocal profile which comes up when you google the name still shows the old location is listed as closed(which had me scratching my head a little until I figured it out). This also serves as further proof that you should read the reviews and no go on rating alone. I received delivery the day after the blizzard. I was quoted 45 minutes online, but I knew that was too optimistic. The food arrived hot in about 1hr 15 minutes. I had the Chicken 65 and Samosa as an appetizer, which were both amazing. The Mango Lassi was really good too. I really liked the rice and having it absorb the sauce.(On a side note, I was thinking to myself this is the best rice I’ve had for any Indian or Chinese delivery place. I’m really surprised to read the other comment about the lack of salt. I guess it just comes down to preference). The real star of the meal was the Pepper Chicken. I love spice and this was the real deal. It was very very hot,(and I hope they never change it). If you like very spicy food, I highly recommend it. My one advice to the owners is to change the default delivery time from 45 minutes to something more optimistic. No one is delivering within 45 minutes in Journal Square or the Heights even on a good day. Other than that, great job and excellent food! I can’t wait to try more things on the menu.

Was really impressed by both the quality and taste of the food. Ordered Chicken Manchurian(with garlic sauce), Kadai Panneer, Dal Fry and Chapathis. The two gravies came with a side of steaming hot, well made basmati rice. The food was hot when it arrived and the best part, and this is very rare in food from the Journal Square area, was that there was no feeling of uneasiness after having the meal. Oh and the price seemed reasonable and cheaper compared to other restaurants in the area of the same calibre. Good job Chennai Flavors!

(The offense to my tastebuds occurred on Apr 26, 2015) 1h 30m for delivery on a Friday night, despite being told that it would take only 45 minutes. Strike one. Saag Panner was slightly watery and tasteless. Strike two. To my surprise, the rice was not seasoned at all. No salt. This is a first for me at an Indian restaurant. Usually, at least the rice is edible. Strike three. Continuing with the baseball analogy, the place has no more strikes. But they had to add insult to injury. The breading on the onion pakora tasted stale and left an unpleasant aftertaste. It was truly vile and inedible. Lastly,(yup, the saga continues), the veggie corn chowder soup was so disgusting. But this was my bad, no idea what I was thinking ordering corn chowder from an Indian restaurant. Zero stars.
