The mango ice cream is great. The banana flavored ice cream was not good. It was Banana FLAVORED with all flavors that were not fresh bananas. I was so upset, my feelings were hurt!!! I could have paid 99 cents for a box of Runts and have had a pretty similar experience… But I also got the stawberry… so that will be my saving grace… it’s homemade ice cream, people… I can see chunks of strawbe… nope. also flavored ice cream! My bf said it tastes like frozen strawberry milk… I concur. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE strawberry Quik, but it’s only 2 bucks at the grocery store! For a lot of it! So I spent almost 6 bucks each… gourmet ice cream prices, for chemically flavored ice cream. . Bitter. I was bitten by the bitter bug with this place. The mango was good and the ice cream is very creamy. Other than that. It tasted like spoonfuls of false.

I finally visited Dahlia’s Ice Cream Spot today and thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream. I had a sundae made with the soft serve chocolate ice cream which was very smooth and deep chocolate flavor. The sundae was topped with Bordeaux cherry topping(fresh tasting and delicious) and whipped cream. We also had coconut ice cream. This awesome shop has many flavors and toppings to try and based on my first delightful experience I will be returning often. We are so lucky to have handmade ice cream on Central Avenue!

Really great homemade cookies and cream ice cream! I have been coming here for years! I love to buy their quart size to take the ice cream home:) try this place and I’m sure you will love it.

I came here in search of a reprieve from all of the high fallutin pay by the weight yogurt places. This is definitely the opposite. The vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles in a cup met expectations. Just felt the place seemed untidy, the flavor options were a bit lacking, and the restroom was definitely not appetizing.

So it’s sort of funny that this local neighborhood spot gets passed over in favor of some other downtown spots that, quite honestly, in consideration of price, aren’t that great. This place makes a ton of flavors, and they are simply awesome. I’ve had delicious pistachio, dulce du leche, and my favorite(a classic) plain old chocolate: they are all amazing, and I have many friends who are big supporters of this place. Their shakes are great as well. The people who work here are very friendly, and although it can run out of table space kinda quickly, they are really making some amazing ice cream that can go toe to toe(or spoon to spoon?) with any ice cream place downtown or elsewhere.

Went here looking for the Carvel, which my wife assured this was the place. The young girl who waited on us confirmed it used to be Carvel, changed it’s name to Amourville and now is Dahlia’s. We just had simple soft serve cones but it was very good. Will have to go back to try other flavors that they have pre-packed in the coolers in the front. They also have the sandwiches, cakes, etc that remind me of the old days of Carvel. Nothing hits the spot on a hot summer day than a cool ice cream cone. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Home made ice cream and it’s delicious. They didn’t have a Unilocal page, which confused me because their ice cream is amazingly good! After the hurricane I was walking around central avenue and I came upon this ice cream store. There wasn’t much to choose from since they didn’t have electricity in the days before; however, they did have vanilla and another ice cream, chocolate fudge crunch. The vanilla is very good, had it with peanuts. The chocolate fudge crunch was delicious. Very delicious. I haven’t had chocolate ice cream that was this good since Thorntons, a British chocolatier. It was so rich and creamy and just the right about of sweetness and darkness from the chocolate. The fudge was decadent and the cruncies just topped everything off. It is one of the best chocolate ice creams I’ve had in a very very very long while. I will be trying their other things as well, very soon. As far as their prices. Very reasonable for home made ice cream. Pints are $ 4.50, if you get two pints it’s $ 6. Quarts are $ 5.50 and if you get two quarts, $ 10. Their small cones are $ 1.75 and their cups are $ 2 and toppings are 50¢. It really is delicious ice cream. Update: Went back last week and got their Dulche Du Leche, absolutely delicious! Sweet and creamy, ridiculously decadent and the caramel has quite a bit of alcoholic flavor, which I love! The last time I had Dulche Du Leche this good; and I must yet again defer to England, was when I had Thorntons. It’s unfortunately amazing and you’ll find yourself quickly eating way too much.
