Typical after work drinks bar. Service is generally good. It’s mostly standing room only, as there really aren’t that many seats around the bar. The one or two times I’ve had the food here it’s been decent. But the warmer months are when you want to come here. Nothing beats having a nice cold beverage while sitting outside with views of the New York skyline.

You come here for the view. Food is mediocre. Henry’s is classic American fare set to the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. I’m assuming those who live/work in close proximity are aware of it, however it’s kind of recessed in to one of the corporate office buildings over there. Came on a Tuesday evening and the place was empty — I’m assuming they make most of their money catering to the work crowds. It’s a nice space, they even had some great bar deals but I guess that wasn’t enough to draw people in. The food was standard — we got the calamari and guac to start, and a combination of burgers, the grilled shrimp wrap and the grilled chicken sandwich. I didn’t try the burger but heard no complaints. The shrimp wrap was okay, as was the grilled chicken… nothing special. For 6 people our bill came to $ 230 — not bad… but I honestly think that if you’re in the Newport/exchange area, there are other«scenic» restaurants to choose from with way better food. I might come here again for a drink if I’m in the area but not a place I would go out of my way to visit.

This place was ok… server could have been a little more friendly when we arrived… I got the«fish sandwich of the day» which is supposed to come with house made chips and cole slaw. I got 3 salmon tacos, no chips, no slaw… it really should have been made clear that the sides weren’t going to be served with tacos… if I had known I would have gotten an appetizer because I was very hungry after a long drive. As far as drinks, try Henry’s Punch… can’t go wrong…

Great place for happy hour drinks … bit on the loud side! Outside in the cool Spring or Fall is great!

5 stars for the location. I walk by this place almost daily in the warmer months & have always wanted to sit outside and have drinks. Did that yesterday & it was great. Had spinach pizza & calamari which were pretty good. Service was good too. Too bad its not open on weekends.

This place is O-K, they have a great view of downtown nyc and the service was great! The drinks could be a little better and the food was decent, but nothing to get excited about!

So, here’s my DRINKSONLY review of Henry’s. First off, I should start this review by specifying that this place is almost exclusively an after-work crowd. If you work in the area, it’s a nice place to come grab a drink once you’re off for the day. If you’re planning on having a night, it’s a nice place to start that night. The drinks are relatively cheap, and they have good specials most nights. The view of Lower Manhattan is basically unparalleled, although the view of Midtown is blocked by apartments that extend out onto a pier. Staff has always been friendly. Overall, a good place to grab a cheap beer after work.

Two positives: 1) The view of downtown Manhattan. 2) The side of baby potatoes that come with your entrée are pretty good… The only reason this Henry’s doesn’t get one star is because it would make a nice place for a glass of beer or wine while enjoying the sight of the Freedom Tower. Not sure if they’ll let you sit outside for just drinks, but that would be your ideal situation here. Order food, and you might find yourself rather disappointed. I had the chicken marsala special here, and it was pretty bad. It was a piece of breast with the wing attached(both parts were cooked very dry), covered in a watery bland marsala sauce. It came with a side of spinach and baby potatoes, which were the only decent parts of the meal.

Lunch today on the«patio» which is basically the Harborside exterior walkway, it’s hard to be critical of anything when you’ve got NYC views like that! Had a burger from the lunch menu, ordered medium and it came well done but after an IPA and soaking up the glorious sunshine, I had no complaints!

Service is horrible. Had a party of 12 and the server knew since he was getting a tip due to the party size he definitely didn’t care. Food was ok but won’t return due to service.

Went there last week with three friends and had an excellent time. The view of New York is amazing, and I would definitely recommend sitting out back, just for that. I ordered the skirt steak, and had a bit of everything my friends were eating, which included the salmon and swordfish. Ordinarily I am not a fish eater, but this surprised me pleasantly. Everything was delicious, and the service prompt and friendly. If you’re in the mood for drinks, I would also highly recommend the Blood Orange Margarita. Strong as hell and goes down easy.

I would be careful to pick the entrees. The skirt steak and swordfish we’ve had were just so so. I would stick to the burgers and drinks, which I would consider decent. The hostess, however, was nice.

I let them know days in advance that I would be coming with a group and that I was vegan. They assured me that they would accommodate. I am now ill because the food was either prepared in butter or chicken stock. They also served our group a variety of desserts — all of which contained dairy. Needless to say — I would not eat here again. The only thing that is good about this place is the view.

If you want a meal that has the quality of a supermarket frozen TV dinner, this is the place for you to go and waste your money. The Ribeye steak is a quarter inch(probably frozen) terrible piece of meat that isn’t worthy of being served to a stray dog. The fries that accompany the steak are served cold, soggy and bland. Ribeye was requested medium rare but came out well done. After requesting another one, it came out THESAMEWAY. DONOTGOHERE.

Service with a smile, outdoor seating with a beautiful Manhattan view. Food was good as usual and service was wonderful helping us celebrate a birthday. Always greeting us with smiles. We will visit often.

The best parts about this place are that its in a great location and has an awesome view of NYC. I ate here with several other co-workers and we all thought the food was barely alright and overpriced. Most people ordered some kind of sandwich, while I ordered the jambalaya. I felt like my jambalaya was a bit too sweet and that my portion wasn’t very big for how much they were charging me. Service was okay but a bit slow, but it was the lunch rush so its understandable. Overall, food my experience was alright, but this restaurant isn’t a place I would be rushing back to.

I want to like this place.(Jeez, I start an awful lot of reviews like that…) The host/owner is very nice. The service generally seems to try hard. The menu is not half bad, nor is the food most of the time. But unfortunately, Henry, it’s all about to come down to a bad chicken soup experience. It was a cool, rainy afternoon. The specials menu on the table was touting a «spicy chicken noodle soup» for $ 6. Six f*cking dollars. For chicken noodle soup. Me being me, I still had to have it. It seemed like a good day for soup, and I love anything spicy. What arrived at the table was almost criminal. Think of that really lame business conference you got forced to attend at that shitty hotel somewhere in some shitty little city that has nothing going on. Think of that shitty lunch buffet they corral attendees into to eat shitty food with a bunch of annoying people in a really shitty setting. And then think of that little dinky cup of NORPAC foodservice chicken noodle soup that they inevitably hand you at the end of the lunch line. Well, if what I’m saying sounds remotely familiar, then no need to order Henry’s special spicy chicken noodle soup — you’ve already had it. This was essentially that same canned soup product in that same soup shot glass you’ve seen all too often at cheap weddings, lame conferences, and your local Golden Corral buffet line. Oh, don’t get me wrong, that chicken noodle soup is just fine. But not for $ 6. And not masquerading as something special. And it wasn’t even a little bit spicy. #superFAIL I’ll still be back, but don’t ever rob me with that kind of BS ever again.

Stopped in for lunch during restaurant week, so my review may be a bit skewed from a typical dining experience. The deal came to ~$ 20 with tax and tip, so plus 1 for good food for fairly reasonable price here in Exchange Place. That got me an appetizer, entrée and dessert from a small list of preselected items. A bit disappointed in the lack of options, but my buddy(vegetarian) and I(carnivore) both had choices which is also good. My buddy went for the sweet potato pasta, which was good– bit buttery for my tastes but good still. i ope for the crab cakes, which were a bit small if you want to share hut food for one. The salmon I got was good — very juicy and seasoned well. The couscous that came with it wasn’t anything special, and the special sauce was good but unable to decipher. Nonetheless, not bad and definitely healthy. For dessert, I opted for the pecan pie and ice cream, which was very good. Only complaint is trying to figure out why I got a spoon with it, as it was definitely not feasible to eat with a spoon. Service was good, very fast but then again limited people were there when I went. They also have us some free bread(assuming is standard) which was nice. The owner also chatted with us for a bit which is always good. All in all, good restaurant in a great location(views of downtown Manhattan galore!). Definitely want to come back in the spring/summer during happy hour.

Henry’s has a five-star view, three-star food and two-star service. The interior of the restaurant was annoyingly loud – more a bar than a restaurant – and we would’ve left had they not had tables outside on the boardwalk overlooking Manhattan. The host basically dismissed us by waving in the direction of tables and didn’t give us any menus, so we waited until a server noticed us sitting and brought us table settings and menus. The food was adequate. My wife seemed to enjoy her salad, but left half her crab cake sliders uneaten. I ordered a sandwich, which was no better than you’d get anywhere. Our table had no salt, so I asked the server who brought our food if he could deliver some. He said yes, disappeared, and never returned. Several minutes later, I signaled the server who took our order, and he nodded an acknowledgment – and then failed to visit our table for several more minutes. By this time I’d gotten up and asked to borrow another tables sale shaker. You can do worse than eat okay food and enjoy the spectacular view across the Hudson, but Henry’s could do a lot better if they tried a little harder.
