The chef(name starts with an A) is a complete ***hole. Refuse to eat here until they find someone better than this guy. I’ve dealt with him at the company i work at and he literally upset myself and my coworkers many times. Maybe your food will be better once this man is gone.

I’ve been here for breakfast now as well, and quite a few times at that. The breakfast food is good and it’s priced well — I think it’s the best breakfast option in the Harborside area. I always get a platter, which comes with eggs, a meat of your choice, potatoes, and toast and comes out just under $ 5. So, I’ll add breakfast platters to my list of recommendations from Hudson’s Grill.

Outlandish prices and questionable service. Hudson’s is a product of its environment. This place knows that the food options in the area are less than adequate, so they know they can charge whatever they want and get away with it. And people still line up outside because they don’t really have much choice. Especially for people who work in Harborside Plaza 5. The food here is neither great, nor is it terrible. It’s adequate. Because this place is so small, things can also get lost in the shuffle as far as service goes. Go at your own risk.

This place is in my office area and I used to eat here for lunch a lot as per recommendations from co-workers. I don’t eat here much anymore, and if I do, i’m prepared to take my food back and have them cook it the right time, let me start by saying that the staff here are super duper nice. the place gets really busy and if you go during lunch you might be waiting outside. one time I ordered a salad and asked for extra avocado on it, the salad was supposed to have spinach, bacon, avocado, tomatoes and carrots, but mine only was a giant thingy of spinach with ONE slice of bacon and a sliver of avocado, i’m talking like 1⁄16th of HALF of an avocado, WTF and they wanted $ 12 for THAT? on occasion I will order a chicken cutlet sandwich to find teh chicken is completely charred black and burnt, WTF, how does that even happen, and more than once too?! how do you even have teh audacity to assemble the sandwich after cooking the chicken KNOWING that its burt to hell? a few other times i’ve gotten orders wrong and had so march all teh way back there.

Hudson’s is a frequent stop for my lunchtime salad on Fridays, alternating with Marker’s Express. For $ 7-$ 10, you can get yourself a nice, loaded salad: your choice of 4 greens, up to 6 add-ins, and one of 15(!) dressings. Premium ingredients like cheese, meat, or fancy veggies like brussels sprouts or portabellos are a dollar or two. A bowl of mixed greens, various veggies, goat cheese, and chicken topped with fig vinaigrette makes for a fine, filling lunch. Actually getting exactly what you’ve ordered is easier said than done. You might find a few ingredients substituted or missing. The sandwiches aren’t quite as satisfying, usually lettuce-heavy and soggy, though the karate chicken(grilled chicken, mozz, onions, teriyaki sauce) had a good balance of flavour.

well the bloom is off the rose. the quality of this place has continued to decline since soon after its opening. everything was fantastic during its newly opened stage(about 6 months) but since then the sandwiches have grown smaller and the salads are nowhere near as fresh. it feels like this was their plan all along.

I continue to order from Hudson’s Grill because I haven’t found a better option for quick salad/sandwich lunch delivery in the area. However, the food is mostly bland and they mess up the orders or are out of what I want too frequently for my liking. I wish somewhere better would open in downtown JC!

I was fooled more than once by this establishment. And will never go back there again. They seem to have a lapse in memory. Example: I do not have a lot of time in the morning so I order breakfast over the phone for a pick up. Guess what? THEYNEVERHAVEMYORDERREADYWHEN I ARRIVE!!! I fail to understand how a simple task can get so fouled up!!! GOODRIDDANCE!!!

Great place to get a tasty sandwich or salad for under $ 10 by all the major offices near the waterfront, but there are just a few caveats. — Takeout only. There is some outdoor seating around the corner on Greene St. — Crowds form around lunch time and may not be the quickest place — Those holding a receipt or an empty bag are not in line, follow those who aren’t to order — Get here before noon to avoid the chaos listed above With those warnings out of the way, I haven’t been disappointed with what I’ve ordered from them so far. If you’re vegetarian(or feel like eating healthy) the Garden sandwich is great on a hero. For some reason this always takes a little longer to make even though the guys behind the counter are just putting cold vegetables together. Or when I’m craving meat with it, I turn this into a salad and add grilled chicken to it for like $ 2 more. Of the prepared wraps, I’d recommend the crispy asian chicken and on the sandwiches the chivito. But the place is so flexible you can just customize any sandwich or salad to your liking.

Great sandwiches! My favorite is the sophi sweetheart it has a sweet taste to it and a must have is their hero bread. A bit on the pricy side but it’s downtown jersey city so it’s expected.

Food is usually good. Breakfast is sometimes not what you ordered. The service is also inconsistent. It really depends what time of day you go here or order delivery. I find its best to place an order online way in advance then walk here when it’s ready(20 – 30 minutes after placing order; again depends on day/time of order). This is to say you can expect quick delivery of you order lunch at 11 am vs 12PM on a sunny day. Today unfortunately it’s raining. I ordered food at 12:30PM for pickup. I called to change it to delivery when it started to down pour. The lady who answered the phone was nice and«easily changed it for the next delivery». It’s 2:41 and still haven’t received it. I would’ve called earlier if it weren’t for a meeting. Seamless is great and credit the charge. I wish I could say I wouldn’t come back here but the sandwiches are good and the price is okay for what I order. Plus it’s only a ten minute walk.

Ordered an hour and a half ago via Seamless. Still waiting — called Hudson Grill — they gave me a proverbial ‘it’ll be there soon’. I will edit this if and when the food gets here. P. s. — I live a mile from this place! Edit: the food came 5 mins after I posted this. I had ordered the soup of the day(carrot and ham) and a Tuna sandwich. The soup wasn’t much to talk about but the sandwich was pretty good. Revising rating to 3 star hoping the delivery delay was one off.

They make really good sandwiches with a wide selection of breads. They allow a lot of customization, whether its to one of their specialty sandwiches or you can just completely create your own. For the hot sandwiches I usually always go with the Sophia Heart on whole wheat slices. I also recently discovered their Black Bean Quinoa Bowl and I added grilled chicken(+$ 2) which is just super yummy! It has kale, peppers, baby tomatoes, corn, and red quinoa at the bottom and drizzled with a light lime vinegar dressing. It is a generous portion that usually takes me a couple of sittings to finish the entire thing. It tends to get a litte crowded around 12 so go either a little before or about 15 minutes after to avoid the lunch rush.

Thanks for delicious cold chicken cutlet sandwich. Thank you for consistently messing up my order. Thank you for this delicious grey cartilage. It was awesome to chew on until I spit it in the trash with the rest of the sandwich.

This place would get a perfect rating for their sandwiches, options, cleanliness, popularity, taste, and prices, however the service is horrible. I almost never want to return just because I feel like and am spoken to like cattle and as if they can do without my money or service. I’ve experienced it first hand. The place seemed busy one lunch afternoon so instead of forgetting what I wanted on my sandwich, I figured I fill out one of the restaraunt provided checklists for making your own wrap. The attendant taking orders had a fit, snapping at me, «Why don’t you just tell me what you want on your sandwhich,» instead of reading from the restaraunt provided checklist. Efficiency. I was trying to make it easier for her in a place so packed that me, 5’2″ barely had space to stand without a stranger elbowing me in the face. Then, when you go to pay for your food, it’s another horrible ball game trying to get some respect from the attendants on the cash register. They know the place is popular so I wasn’t treated as if they valued my service. I felt the treatment was totally undeserved. For those that believe that we aren’t owed anything, I think you’re kidding yourself. Just because I’m hungry doesn’t make me desperate. On another occasion, one of my coworkers called in to ordered a sandwhich. He didn’t check his bag when he left and realized they had given him a salad instead. They then called him back on the phone and told him to return it as if it were his fault. If you can get past all this, then you’ll enjoy the freshness of their food. Unfortunately, there are too many places deserving of my service.

AVOIDBREAKFAST, unless you enjoy charred black food!!! Waited forever for a basic breakfast platter, scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. The eggs were hard and dry, obviously overcooked, hence why I waited so long. The bacon was burnt, see attached pic. The toast was not warm. I rarely get a full breakfast on a weekday, this place helps to keep it that way. They are very good for lunch sandwiches, but now I’m wary of that

Ordered breakfast for a corporate function. Just the baked goods and fruit salad. They arrived on time. Everything was fresh. Got lots of compliments from the team.
