John D Rosa, DDS

I have been going to Dr. Rosa for about 15 years. I drive over 45 minutes to see him since I moved 8 years ago. I have always felt like more than ‘just a patient’ there. He always fits me in if I have a problem. The staff is great. I would recommend Dr. Rosa to anyone looking for a dentist.

A friend suggested I go here after I was complaining about being jerked around by other dentists. One told me I had too much plaque and needed to rebook another cleaning appointment on my own dime, another wanted to put me through a «special deep cleaning». I had suspected they were trying to sell me unnecessary services and Dr. Rosa confirmed that.
They have a modern office and a friendly staff. I had a painless cleaning and was quickly out the door without anyone trying to sell me anything.
Highly recommend.

They have the most amazing staff. I was not able to make it to a appointment due to personal problems and they were really considerate even asked me if I wanted to reschedule.

Dr Rosa has been my dentist since 2003. His work is top notch and I’ve never had a complaint. He explains in detail what he’s doing, is very patient and understanding. I can’t recommend him enough. Anytime I hear of anyone looking for a dentist, I always tell them to hop on the PATH and head to Dr. Rosa’s office. He’s the best there is!

Highly unprofessional clinic, they expect patients to sit for minutes when they come for appointments and when patients are running late by few mins they have zero accommodation. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor.

I had my first cleaning and check-​up at Dr. Rosa’s office today.
**I will start this off by saying I haven’t had a cleaning in over 2 years. I will also say I went to another dental office in Newport last fall, which shall remain unnamed, when I was worried about having cavities. That office told me I had 8 cavities and filled two of them. I never made an appointment to have the others filled, based on my first and only experience there.**
I have to say that this was probably one of the best health-​related experiences I’ve had in the NYC area since moving down here in 2010. Here’s why:
I was sitting in the chair ready for x-​rays by the time my appointment started. (+1 star)
For not having my teeth cleaned in two years, they look amazing now. Getting there was a bit painful, but the end result looks great. I could also tell the woman cleaning my teeth was trying her hardest to both do a great job and make sure it wasn’t too painful for me. (+1 star)
Dr. Rosa was extremely nice and knows what he’s doing. As I mentioned above, the other office I went to said I had 6 remaining cavities. Dr. Rosa claims I have two cavities that need to be filled and explained his reasoning. There were also some issues with my insurance (out of the offices and my control) since I’m under my mom’s plan still, and he was really nice about that issue, too, even though it’s been a pain for them trying to work out. (+1 star)
Everyone at the office is super friendly (see insurance issue above) and patient. There are some dental/​doctor/​etc offices I’ve been to where it literally looks like everyone hates their job. Not the case here and that definitely adds to the positive experience. (+1 star)
Lastly, the office is in a great location, minutes from my apartment and office building and has convenient hours. (+1 star)
Unless something goes terribly wrong with filling my cavities, I will be back here again!
UPDATE ⁶⁄₃₀ — Had my two cavities filled. Weird sensations the rest of the night after having them filled, but couldn’t even tell I had fillings the next day. Based on the dental horror stories I researched online the day before, I think I had the best result I could hope for :)

Dr. Rosa and all his staff are extremely friendly and very professional and as a patient you are very quickly made to feel at ease.
I would highly recommend Dr Rosa and his team.

I’ve been going to Dr. Rosa since 2002. Best dentist office ever. Even though I moved out of Jersey City, I still travel back to Jersey City for all of my dental appointments.

I have an irrational fear of going to the dentist, which is why I’ve had the misfortune of having tons of cavities, extractions (wisdom teeth AND a molar), a root canal, and even a dental implant for a broken tooth I ignored for years. The first time I went to Dr. Rosa, I was very near tears. He was kind, easygoing, patient and professional. Plus, he’s FAST without making you feel like he’s rushing — he’s just that good. He’s had the same office manager (Dawn) for years, and she’s always really efficient and friendly. These days, I still get nervous going to see him, and don’t always make it in for cleanings as often as I should, but I completely relax as soon as I walk through the door. I’ve never felt any pain with him, and he’s fluent in the language of «tensing and grunting.» :) I trust him implicitly, and highly recommend him to everyone I know.

Called to schedule a cleaning /​whitening appointment for my wife. Person who answered insisted an X-​ray was necessary and that the dentist would not perform the service on a new patient without one. No other dentist I have ever spoken to has required this before even seeing the patient for a simple cleaning.

Dr. Rosa is extremely kind, courteous and professional.
I went there today and I couldn’t be happier.
His staff is also very good. I recommend to everyone that is looking for a kind and excellent dentist.

Great staff, wonderful doctor. They are all very sweet and friendly. They were able to follow up with me after they had a cancellation and get me in on a Saturday morning which is very difficult for most offices.
The office was very clean and nice as well. Everything seemed up to date and the appointment was quick and efficient!

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Rosa for approximately 6 years. He and his staff are warm, friendly, and a total delight to be around. I’ve also had a few cosmetic procedures done by him and could not be happier. He simply is the best!!!
Everyone we have referred to him feels the same.

I have had several filling and one extraction with Dr. Rosa. He is a nice and sophisticated dentists and very friendly.
