Delicious Indian food. Great option for delivery too. Chapati, egg white bhurji, dal, chicken chettinad are amazing dishes. Jaggery paratha is perfect ending to a great meal. We have had delivery from here a couple of times, never disappoints. And if you are hungry after drinks late in the night, this is the place to go!

I am getting married at the end of June and my Mom suggested I choose a restaurant for a small dinner the night before our wedding. We are choosing K.C. because — and I’m being honest — it is my favorite restaurant in Jersey City. Is it fancy? No. Does it have metal floors? yep. Is there usually a cricket game on the TV, to which staff is paying attention? Sure. But what matters is the food, which is excellent. I can’t recommend the puffed lotus seed dish enough. It’s the best dish I’ve had on Newark Ave. GO!

The Food is AMAZING! So, what’s with the one star rating… We use , and this is the only place that takes forever to deliver. I became accustomed to waiting 1h 15 mins, however, we are now past 2 hours, for the 2nd time in a row. This place is less than 2 miles away from where I live. I’ve called them before to make sure the order went through, and every time, it’s the same story. 10 minutes… It’s not 10 minutes, it’s at least double that, they do not care about service, otherwise they would hire another driver. Looking at the other reviews, this place has great reviews for food, however, the common complaint is delivery time.

I ordered on seamless at 530. called once at 630 and was told it was out for delivery and would be there in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later i called again and was told the same thing. 15 minutes later, and still no food. this is the absolute worst service ive ever gotten and there is no excuse or reason for such a long delay. When we finally got the food TWO hours later, it was cold. and also not as kick ass as it needs to be for a 2 hour wait. NEVERAGAIN

This place used to be Paratha Junction which moved a couple of shops closer to Kennedy Blvd. However the chef didn’t move and although Parath Junction wasn’t bad I find Kulch corner a bit better. Open 24 hours and a neat no-nonsense Indian food restaurant. Came here few backs with quite some friends and their spouses. Ordered a quite a few meat and veggie curries most of which were pretty decent and flavored. The Madras Chicken was good, Butter chicken had nice flavor(just messed up a little bit of tomato purée part, was little more than expected), malai kofta which is my fav was pretty good. The Goat Roganjosh wasn’t what it is supposed to be but whatever it was tasted pretty good. 12⁄2013: visited again few weeks ago for late night dinner with friends and was good to know that the place holds to my earlier review. So still a rocking place. Verdict — Overall would be my goto Indian place on this street whenever I am not in mood for experimenting with others.

It takes a while to order but the food is the best I’ve had in jersey city. Amazing kulcha chole and malai tikka worth a visit. There is only one waiter who keeps running back and forth. I look forward to trying more of the food they have to offer.

Fair warning: they take approximately 60 – 90 mins to deliver. We still use seamless or delivery dot com & order from here all the time, especially when we have unexpected guests or are in a group. The vegetarian dishes are really very good and top of the list is: Saag Paneer, Daal makhani, Daal tadka, Paneer tikka masala and Sarson ka saag. The Malai kofta is pretty decent as well. We also like the Mutton Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken, both are really flavorful and are not too sweet or spicy. Also, the food sometimes is pretty oily and we drain out all the excess oil before consuming it. Dishes to avoid: Aaloo Gobi — this is the worst I’ve ever had in my life and I’m not exaggerating. Not sure how they managed to get it so wrong! This came in the form of a tomato-onion gravy and it seemed like they mixed the gravy from their other dishes to come up with this weird concoction! Avoid. The Egg curry, Chana masala & Chicken Sukha were all pretty lame as well. From the Kulcha corner itself, the paneer kulcha and keema paratha(both chicken and mutton) are excellent. The restaurant itself is pretty dingy and crowded. Great food to-go or order in. The quantities are decent and each dish is more than enough for two people. The price is right. And oh yes, it’s open till 2 or 3 am to dine in, in case you’re hungry in the middle of the night or need a snack!

Am I really in the US? Yes? So, why do I get stared at when I entered Kulcha Corner? Unfortunately, it is one of the few 24h restaurants in Jersey City, and when I am over at my boyfriend’s place in Secaucus and have a midnight craving for Indian food… there isn’t much choice. I often have been stared at around Journal Square, especially when I am walking hand-in-hand with my Indian boyfriend. However, Kulcha Corner was a different league of staring. I entered the restaurant with my boyfriend and his roommate, and people were literally turning around to get a glimpse of me. Since patrons don’t affect my opinion of the institution, I will move on and get over it. It did not get better. Our waiter took TWENTY minutes to take our order. WHY? It was 12am and the place is tiny. We kept starring at them for them to get that we were ready to order, but no… nothing. Finally, I impatiently tell a random waiter that we are ready to order. I was craving chole poori, but there was nothing comparable to the menu, so my boyfriend recommended another dish to me(I do not remember the name) while he and his roommate ordered butter chicken. Fifteen minutes later, our first waiter comes to our table and asks if our order was taken. SERIOUSLY? 35 minutes after we sat down? I couldn’t help but snap a snarky remark at him. The food came and my dish was so spicy, I could not even eat it. My boyfriend and his roommate were kind enough to share the butter chicken and naan with me. Also, they told me that they ran out of Mango Lassi, and 15 minutes later they serve exactly that to the table of 10 Indian students next to us. I’d rather go to the 24h diner in Secaucus if I ever am hungry at that time instead of going back to this awful place. One extra star because the butter chicken was pretty good.

Have to thank Stephanie Y. for the heads up on this place! I got delivery from here on a Friday night and was warned that it would take at least an hour, which it did. Taming my growling stomache aside, the food is pretty good. I ordered palak paneer(spinach and cheese), chicken vindaloo, and the mooli paratha. The portions are huge. I made so many meals out of these. I personally like my palak to be spicy and the paneer to be on the sweeter side. The palak paneer here was milder tasting but still good. The chicken vindaloo was spicy! However, I was really happy to see the mooli(radish) paratha on the menu — haven’t seen that in a long time — and greatly enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying our the parathas.

I was up in the hood visiting Mana Contemporary and every time I walk this street I feel I have to get my Indian on. Have I told you I am absolutely clueless when it comes to Indian food? Like, embarassing, I can’t believe I call myself cultured clueless about Indian food. I look to Unilocal and decide this is the place. I sit down. I don’t want a full meal — they have about 20 curry options. Indian food — curry is basically a dish with sauce. Sweet. I went with the Chicken tikka paratha. It was like a spicy chicken quesadilla(there goes that ignorant American referring her Indian food to a Mex American«delicacy»). The paratha was spicy as hell! I loved it: filled with onions, chicken, spices and made with whole wheat flour. Yum. Twas a bit greasy but, all good. Boom. $ 5. Kulcha Korner is open 24 hours. It was clean and the service was friendly as in hooking me up with some knowledge about what the hell I should eat. Not a lot of ambiance, tv playing Indian tv shows, a bunch of tables, and a front counter. This place is most definitely like an upscalish Indian diner. They have a sign from Grub Hub saying that people love their butter chicken so that may need to be ordered. I give this spot 4 stars since I thoroughly enjoyed my meal but, I need to try some other spots to see if this place warrants the bright lights and glory of 5 stars. But, most definitely that cheap, delicious and flavorful paratha will have me coming back again and again.

This review is for their takeout only. Yum, yum, yum. Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Malia Tikka, Kali Daal all curried flavorful goodness. The Chicken was unbelievably tender. Everything tasted great with a great combination of spices that just tasted really authentic. The takeout delivery time was way too long though. They said up to forty five minutes but took an hour and a half. It is a testament to the yumminess of the food that I didn’t call to complain. Definitely slipping it into our take out rotation.

Excellent. Generally North Indian; we have been 3 times and all the food was always good and freshly made. Very good lunch boxes, both vegetarian and not. They let you put most of the vegetable or meat curries in the lunch box. We also enjoyed the parathas and 2, only 2, tasty kulchas(on a different menu.) The service is also very pleasant and helpful. They are flexible over ordering things not exactly on menu.

Firslty, the name is ‘Kulcha Corner Jai Ho’ lol! And now to the food. its pretty awesome. this is what you call absolute indian curry taste. it can get spicy some times for the weak hearted. but its anyways an only indian area and an only indian joint! Wish americans would dare to try this atleast once.

The service was amazing. Some of the food came out too spicy for me and they immediately took it back and re-prepared it for me, as well as gave me a drink to «cool the fire». We will definitely be back, as this was the best Indian food we have had in a while. Thanks!

I don’t recall seeing any Kulchas on the menu. We ordered Parathas and some Indian curries, which were good. Regulars on Journal Sq will know that the food is similar to Paratha Junction. Service was good; we had some coupons and the waitress was helpful in letting us take a printout on their printer.

Originally Paratha Junction but all the original team is still here as the food still taste as delicious as before. Apparently the two partners split and I tried both sides I loved food on both restaurants but I just prefer this location as the staff knows me and remembers me what I like. Go there once and you will fall in love with the food. I am a American Football fan I was so happy the owner is a Giants fan, now my wife is happy she does not have to cook and I can watch the game happily having a very good food. We both are happy campers, they also deliver plus they have a 15% off deal going on right now as it covers tip that I would have to pay the deliver man. Since service is fast and food cooked piping hot I prefer eating at the restaurant you can use your 15% discount there too. Good find and great food
