No nonsense kind of spot. Usually only pizza but they have some hot sandwiches available now. Perfect cheese slice right here. It’s the best in the downtown area.

Lisbon plain cheese pie is the best pie in Jersey City. The sweetness of the sauce, the perfect amount of fresh mozzarella, the herbs… mMmm. Needs to be eaten right out of the oven for full experience.

This place is pretty good! Easy to grab a whole pie or a few slices, and prices are decent. I ordered a cheese pie for $ 13.50– the flavor was great, although I wish the crust had a crispier taste(I brought it back to my place so it may have been my fault due to steaming in the box) I wish they did online ordering, but whether I wander in or call ahead it only takes about 10 minutes for them to make a pizza.

It’s easy to be skeptical of a pizza place named after a Portuguese city, but Lisbon might be among the best slices in JC(a dubious distinction, but a distinction nonetheless). I’m bumping it up to 5 stars because its basically the only legit slice spot in the Paulus Hook neighborhood and it’s really cheap. Just grabbed 2 very good slices(with toppings) and 3 garlic knots(with a side of sauce) and dropped a whopping 6 bucks and change. Try getting that much food at Paulus Hook Pizza without hitting the ATM first.

Underrated pizza joint. I’ve been ordering for here since the mid-90’s. Not flashy like the brick oven pies, but far better then the average pizza place. Only set back, is their limited hours.

Swung by at 8:30 to order something and the guy rudely said they were closed even though the sign said they closed at 9 and others were ordering. Never again. You could say I’m being ridiculous, but I’m trying to give them business and it seems like there was still plenty of time to take an order. Even if there isn’t enough time, the guy didn’t need to be rude about it.

I come here 3 times a week after the long days of work. The pizza is so delicious, and in my opinion way better than all the others in the area with gimmicks of brick oven or thin crust in the area that, in my experience in the past has come out. This is just great, old fashioned, delicous pizza. My favorite place to eat after 2 years in paulus hook.

Although it is past midnight and I have work early in the morning I just HAD to write this review because the pizza I had for lunch today is all I can think about! I’ve ordered a couple of times from this place and they have been very prompt with their delivery both times. As far as the food goes, hands down the best pizza I’ve had here in Jersey City. The first time I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a meatball parmesian sandwich, which were both excellent. The crust on this pizza is a great combination of thin and crunchy without being overly greasy. The second time I ordered I had a sausage pizza which was also excellent, mostly because they had ground sausage so it almost felt like I was eating a hamburger pizza. Today I made a very smart decision and ordered the Harborside Pizza– clams, shrimp, and garlic… all I can say is … WOW! This was one of the best pizzas that I have had since moving to the East Coast and this has pretty much kicked all the other current pizzerias that I order from in Jersey CIty off the map. This pie had a good amount of all three ingredients and they were not stingy on the seafood at all! The white sauce was a perfect compliment to the ingredients without overdoing it on the heaviness scale. After always eating meat pizzas this was a great change of pace and really makes me want to try seafood pizzas everywhere else that I go. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the pizza is perfection but it is as close as I have gotten in Jersey City. Make sure to try out the Harborside pizza, especially if you’re a garlic lover!

Ooooh, I’m the first to review! Lisbon is a small mostly take out pizzeria on Warren Street but they also make calzones, rolls, lasagna, stuffed shells, ziti, and manicotti. They also have hot and cold sandwiches. There are a few seats parallel to the window so you can eat inside but there aren’t bonafide tables and chairs. Definitely not a destination restaurant. Drinks are in a glass refrigerator on the wall and they also have ice cream singles(things you buy from an ice cream truck). We ordered a sausage/pepperoni pizza($ 15.50) and picked it up ourselves since we live down the street. It was ready on time. The crust was great, thin and crusty, but my one complaint was that the sausage was all crumpled up… looked like ground hamburger and wasn’t very spicy as I’m used to with sausage on pizza. It was also pretty scanty with the pepperoni. Lisbon uses regular mozarella on their pizza, not the fresh mozarella that some of the more fashionable pizzarias use. Still, it’s pretty good pizza. There’s one size of pizza(8 slices) and prices range from $ 11.95(cheese) to $ 22.00(Sicilian scampi). Most are about $ 13.50. I’ll definitely return and try a few other varieties– maybe the white clam($ 16.50) — it’s good pizza, just not stellar. Maybe they’ll change my mind?
