I tried this place for the first time on 6⁄25. We ordered scallion pancakes and Goyza. I didn’t care too much for them, I have better somewhere else. Now, their Sushi and sesame chicken, oh, my! so so good. The spicy lover I ordered was delicious one of the best and freshest I have tried! a good portion, too. This place is BYOB. I will be back to try some other things on the menu.

Went here for my husband’s birthday and sat in the beautiful back garden! All the food was delicious, especially the duck appetizer and soft shell crab. For a group of 7 with lots of food, it came to $ 25 per person, which really can’t beat in downtown Jersey City! Loved that it was BYOB and the lady attending us was so friendly and accommodating. I’ve ordered out from this place before and sat in the front, but only learned about the back garden recently! Will definitely be back whenever the weather permits!

Note — this restaurant is being«dinged» not for my meal but for its terrible service. I went here on a weekday for lunch and arrived a little after 2 pm. I had noticed they had a nice outdoor seating area. It was a nice day, the sun was shining, and I asked to sit out there. The Thai woman who greeted me(with a bob style hair cut) seemed annoyed that I wanted to sit outside and she tried to talk me out of it which I thought was odd. We went back and fourth. I made a few jokes and she finally gave in and I went back there. After a few minutes of waiting for her to greet me with a menu I decided I didn’t want to sit there because it smelled like garbage, which must have been left out and I wasnt going to be smelling that all through my meal. I got up and decided to head back into the restaurant. She saw me and said«good Im glad you’re sitting up front because it’s less work for me.» I just laughed and said«oh, now the truth comes out lol.» Mind you it was maybe a 7 second walk from the front to serve me outside. Anyway, I ordered drunken noodles, and the flavor was great. I won’t say the portion was small because it was off the lunch menu and the prices were scaled down for lunch, so the portions were appropriate. My main complaint comes with the series of events that happened next. The same woman who initially greeted me(with the bob haircut) had a passive aggressive approach with everyone around me in the restaurant. At around 2:30, 2 people came in to eat and sat right next to me. The first thing she said to them was not welcome, how are you? Instead she said«we close at 3, so you have to eat fast. What do you want?» I thought this was odd, because even if the restaurant closes at 3 to re-open later for dinner doesn’t that usually mean they stop taking orders at 3? I mean what are they going to do — rush you out at 3 if you’re still eating? Another single woman came in at 2:50. She was also greeted with«we close at 3 you have to eat fast, what do you want?» before she even had a chance to sit down. At this point it became evident to me that this restaurant or in particular the woman in charge there was more interested in closing at 3 than in taking care of their customers. The customer places her order at 2:53(I looked at my watch), so the kitchen had 7 minutes to make it before she«must leave.» To the right of me at this time was a single woman who wanted her bill for lunch. The same server seemed very annoyed that the customer wanted to pay with credit. She kept saying«do you have cash do you have cash can you pay in cash?» Finally the customer begrudgingly obliged. I looked over at her in disbelief. She looked at me. I rolled my eyes, and shook my head and she smiled and did the same — indicating to me that she indeed felt as annoyed as I thought with the server’s pushy, rude nature. At this point I couldn’t believe the nerve of this server. Again I want to reiterate my lunch was really tasty and the flavors were on point. I would go back and try a different server. It was now 2:55 and it was time for me to leave. I remember thinking how can I prove a point to this woman(without being nasty or rude) and let her know that she wasn’t going to boss me around like she was all her other«guests?» My meal came to around $ 12. I carry cash, but I rarely use it. I like to use debit or even credit and have a record of what I’m doing. She dropped me the bill and I had my debit card ready. I pulled it out of my money clip and placed it in the check holder. She looked at me and said«can you pay with cash?» I said no, I’d rather pay with a card. She said again«why can’t you pay with cash?» She was looking at my cash. I purposely had it out out so she could see that I indeed had cash. I said«I can pay with cash but I won’t. Besides, who pays cash for anything nowadays?» I looked at her with an insincere grin and nudged the bill and my card towards her. She had no choice but to run the card. Surprised that I wasn’t going to roll over like the rest of her«guests,» she then«warms up» and tells me me that they have a $ 15 minimum for cards but that she would make an exception just for me… Awe, aint she sweet!!! ***The funny thing is, little does she know that I know by FEDERALLAW it is ILLEGAL to impose a credit card minimum on your customers greater than $ 10. If I wanted to be a real stickler I could report them to their merchant provider, but I won’t. This review will be punishment enough.*** MORALOFTHESTORY — TASTYFOOD — GOODPRICING — BEONTHELOOKOUTFORBOBSTYLEHAIRCUTLADY and if she approaches you, be ready to battle! Went with friends on a Friday night, ordered green curry, drunken noodles, red curry and thai chilli basil. The food tasted good. In terms of ambience there is nothing much, the place was little suffocating inside as it was full of kitchen smoke. Service was ok and the food was served quickly. Tip: Try the red curry and if you can handle little heat ask them to make it spicy. It stood out of all the things we ordered. For food its 3.5 stars

Excellent Thai Food. Excellebt presentation. Come daily almost. Love the Mussaman Curry with Chicken. Waitresses are friendly and customer service is great. Manager is very fair with us as customers and for me and our group prices are affordable. Two blocks from new jersey path train so that is also convenient that can get dinner before walking home.

Disclaimer: tried to plan a party for 35 – 40 but this place jerked us around and we didn’t end up having it there. I really wanted to give them one star but since I didn’t have it there, they get two to be fair. Tried to hold a shower for 35 here and we worked back and forth with the main lady there. They have a great outdoor space they can use for private parties. My co-host of the party called and got an arranged cost p/p. I called as well separately and got the same cost p/p. I then physically went there because I wasn’t 100% comfortable about what I was getting for the cost p/p and went through it in person with her. I even asked if it was to rain, can they cater it and she gave me a different price for that as we had an alternate rain location for it. I told her great, I’ll come next week to drop off the deposit. Flash forward a week later when I went there and had a few more questions before confirming and I asked her a few logistics questions and confirmed was what part of the cost and she said it was $ 10 more than what she had originally quoted both of us and if I wanted it catered, it was a cost per person which was fricken outrageous. She said she remembered quoting us that price when In fact I brought the same paper, their menu that j wrote on while I was in front of her the week before. This restaurant was NOT flexible at all in working with us and cost more than the American /French restaurants in the areas for a private party. Needless to say, I walked out on our conversation and thanked her for wasting my time. Clearly they didn’t want our business which made it easy to walk out.

Love the spicy tuna($ 6) and spicy dynamite roll($ 13)! When you get spicy mayo on the side its fairly large container and is well worth a dollar($ 1). The sushi is so good I had it for lunch and dinner. Not only is the food good and prices decent, but the décor is beautiful. And of course I am a returning customer! The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is due to the fact they said they wouldn’t deliver to my house(2 miles away) but still coming back!

Actual rating: 3.5 stars This is only my 2nd time checking in, but it’s actually my 4th or 5th visit. I’ve dined in only once. The food I’ve had thus far has been pretty tasty. Nice atmosphere and friendly, prompt service. I’d give them 4.5 stars, but I have to(temporarily) drop their rating by 1 star. I placed a takeout order for the vegetarian duck in green curry sauce(my fave dish here). When the cashier repeated my order back to me it sounded like she said vegetables in green curry sauce. After I politely corrected her, she repeated my order to me again… veg duck in green curry sauce. Cool. Before heading out, I check the receipt that’s been stapled to my bag just to be sure everything’s straight. It correctly lists my order. I get home, open my food and there’s no veggie duck, just the sauce and vegetables. NoOoOoOoOoO!!! Whyyyyyyy!!! Don’t get me wrong. I love their green curry sauce! I’m just disappointed I didn’t get what I actually ordered and paid for. Honest mistake on their part. Still frustrating nonetheless. It’s not really worth the hassle of calling them or going back down there since I don’t live within walking distance. I’ll certainly be a return customer. I just know from now on I will always… ALWAYS check my takeout order before leaving… even if the receipt appears to be correct.

I have to say, I wasn’t expecting much from this place based upon their name. There nothing about it that screams«Asian food» and usually anytime something is as «express» it means low quality. I was pleasantly surprised, however that this is actually a decent restaurant. They have a pretty extensive menu of Asian dishes with a strong lean towards Japanese and Thai. I’m quite impartial to Thai food, so I went with the basil chicken, starting with a cup of the coconut soup. The soup was pretty much as you would expect, a nice zip of flavor, and even though the menu indicates they will only do it with chicken or shrimp, they will do it with vegetables only if you ask, since I’ve never quite enjoyed chasing around strange pieces of chicken floating in my soup. The entrée was equally as well prepared. The large plate size was a little deceptive– when it first came out I thought it looked small, but as I dug in, I realized that it was actually a decent portion(and ended up having to take some of home with me). You don’t normally expect to get real chicken breast at «express» places, but it was the real deal here. Not overly saucy, and not much grease at all. And no, they don’t charge extra for rice. My only complaint was that the seats near the windows can be quite drafty when the weather is cold, and it was downright uncomfortable when the temperature was 5 degrees outside. Four stars for that, the fact that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom, and because they don’t have a liquor license.

Eh. Food was ok. We just moved to the area and was looking for a good pad Thai place. Meal was ok. Not bad but not really that great. The place seems decent and the staff are very friendly. I would eat here again and try something else. Ok so update: I ordered out the shrimp fried rice which was awesome!!! Not greasy at all, very fresh and flavorful. Will def be ordering this again. Also had the pork dumplings which were pretty good.

This used to be one of my favorite fusion restaurants until my visit last night. The quality with their sushi isn’t that great. I ordered tuna, eel, Alaska, and spider rolls only to find that it tasted as if they didn’t properly store their meat. The dumplings weren’t all that great. This place fell off from what I remembered it for. I came in late in the evening but that shouldn’t be a factor for food quality. Their customer service were ok so I gave it 2⁄5 stars.

This place used to be good, now it’s just another place. Why did they get rid of the Tom Kha Coconut Soup??? Please bring that back.

I previously had a pretty bad experience with sushi delivery here. This time, I came in for dinner and tried the Thai portion of the menu. Better than the sushi but still, not great. Chicken satay was very dry. The seaweed wrap for the eel hand roll was too dried out. The crab wonton was the one item that stood out — pretty good. Had the vegetarian duck with string beans as my entrée — eh. Faux meats are often lackluster but I have had way better mock duck before. Kudos for offering something other than tofu for the vegetarians though! I added a star because I loved the ambiance here(very cozy and cute, played Christmas music, friendly servers).

Today I ordered theThai Fried Rice with shrimp. First let me say the order is half the size of most restaurants and 2nd their were only 4 shrimps in the entire dish compared with other Thai restaurants like«Sawadee. And to top it off the rice was over cooked. Needless to say it was a take out order that will not be repeated. Follow up 11÷4÷15 a photo of an order of Thai fried with shrimp the competition with at least a DZ and ½ shrimps for $ 8.56.

No, no, no, no, no! The food here is just so not worth it. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because our server was friendly and attentive. So naturally I checked-in to this place and there was an offer for free edamame, when I showed our server she said they don’t honor that anymore because they’re under new ownership. Hey, new ownership, either honor the offer or just remove it, It looks bad that you don’t. To be more specific about the food. The BBQ pork skewers were dry and tasteless. The roasted duck had not meat only far and the portion was so small. The sauce was not tasty at all. The spice Tuna hand roll had no spice to it at all. I didn’t like not even 1 dish. Such a waste of my time and money. It’s obvious that their high rating is from the previous owner.

*roti(these were deep fried and quite salty; the curry soup was rather thin and also salty; it was disappointing that there was no meat or potatoes in the soup; because the roti were already deep fried and oily, they didn’t do a good job of absorbing the soup; definitely better at Malaysian places and would not recommend this one) *drunken noodles(not bad! I liked the flavor of the noodles and the amount of spice in it; veggies were crispy and fresh; there was a lot of chicken in there but overcooked; I wish the noodles were larger and not so cut up) *lemongrass chicken(it was alright; the chicken was relatively dry and that banana dipping sauce was strange as a condiment; I’m used to that banana sauce for dipping lumpia not chicken haha. Perhaps if they served this chicken on a skillet with some juices it would be juicier and more flavorful) *Thai iced tea(I actually liked this; thankfully not a powered form of it and you can taste the red tea flavor; not overly sweet with the milk but sweet enough) *Monster roll(yum! it’s a lightly fried roll with spicy tuna, avocado, seaweed salad and kani salad; this roll is quite large and could honestly be a meal in itself. Flavor is good despite how busy the plate looks) This place is cute. I like the outdoor seating area. The service is good. Bathroom is awkwardly located directly across from the kitchen so please open the door slowly so you don’t knock down anybody or any plate of food they’re carrying. Food itself is ok. They are a little heavy-handed on salt. Overall, decent Thai spot but definitely have had better. Solid 3.5.

****Disclaimer– have not actually eaten in More yet, have just ordered for delivery. However, it was fantastic delivery at that and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until I dine in and enjoy a little thai and BYOB action**** Hooooorah for More! I’ve been waiting for some quality Thai in the new hood and More is everything that I wanted… and more… and made me want more. Guess the name isn’t too surprising. The delivery was really speedy and our food came in under 30 minutes. I despise when delivery takes forever(lazy girls problems) so things were already off to a good start. I went with my go-to’s. I always do this when I’m trying a place out for the first time, just because I know it won’t be worth a second try if they can’t get my go-to right. Pretty sound logic, I know. Curry puffs were A+. Okay, they only came with three. I’ve never had an order with less then five, I’ll just throw it out there. However, what they lacked in quantity they made up for in quantity and I suppose that’s fine. They were really puffy, thick dumplings filled with a delicious curry mixture(I have no idea what it actually is, but it’s standout) and a tangy side of cucumber vinaigrette on the side. Next up was the pad see ew. I was debating between pad see ew and pad thai, so next time I’ll have to try the latter. It might be a tough decision again though, because after trying the pad see ew once it’s all I ever want to eat again. For the rest of time. A perfect blend of noodles, chicken and broccoli with an ample amount of chicken. Often times Thai spots will serve a huuuuge portion that really just looks larger because of an abundance of noodles and a lack of meat. More’s portion was a bit smaller but had more chicken in it which is definitely better in my book. 4 stars for you More!

I love Thai food and I’m always on the hunt to discover the next best Thai place wherever I am in the world. I discovered this small Thai resto when I was wandering along Grove Street last Sunday and it was such a beautiful bright day to seat outside and enjoy Sunday Brunch so I decided to try it. My usual staples and standards in any Thai resto would be the Tom Yum Goong soup, Thai Iced Tea, and Red Curry. While I didn’t feel like ordering Tom Yum soup that early for brunch, I did enjoy the Beef Red Curry. The meat was tender and it had the right level of spicy, which I have high tolerance of, through the years. Their beef red curry came with just enough meat and had plenty of vegetables, which was a good balance. It went very well with steamed rice. Their Thai Iced Tea was delicious. You would think this is so easy to do but you’d be surprised how some Thai restos often miss this part. I think I’d definitely return for more. =)
