The NY Waterway is poorly run. They claim to have an awesome app. However, don’t believe the schedules they post on their «wonderful» app. A ferry that was to leave every 15 minutes kept me waiting for 45 minutes. Gave no notice, even though they have our email addresses. People are missing trains as a result of their neglegence. For the expensive prices they charge, their service is beyond unacceptable! Not to mention during this Hurricane Sandy disaster that commuters are still dealing with, they offered NO discount prices or assistance. They know they are the only way for people to get to work and take full advantage. They are subsidized but still money hungry! Please call 1800−53-ferry to give them the feedback they deserve.

Pros:
— Quick ride to NYC & other areas of NJ. Approximately 3 minutes from jersey city-exchange place ti wall street pier 11
— Ferry comes about every 4 – 5 minutes
— Pleasant ride during the summer
Cons:
— Expensive — $ 7.00 for a single ride $ 70.00 for a 10 pack.
— stops running after 9:30 p.m.
Overall I like the waterway. Its the quickest way to get to NYC.

NY Waterway calls itself the «civilized commute» and it really is. Ferries are on time in 15 minute intervals to Pier 11 (except when US Airway flights decide to land on the Hudson), there’s always a seat, and I get to work in half the time. My only issue is that it is four times the cost of taking the Path: $ 6.50 one way versus the Path’s $ 1.50 and there is no discount buying a 10 pack.

First time taking the NY Waterway Ferry ever and man was it smooth!!!
Pro’s:
— Quick/Easy Access on and off the Ferry
— Pleasant ticket counter
— Speedy ride (approx. 3 min) from Jersey City-Exchange Place to World Financial
— Ferry’s come about every 4 – 5 minutes
Con’s:
— Teller run counter (can see during rush hour this being a rather long line)
— Pretty expensive fare: $ 5.50 from JC-Exchange place to World Financial
— Stops running at around 9:30pm
— Motion Sickness from the rocking of the ocean during stormier weather
