Went to the mall today and realized that I haven’t had Panda Express in years! I used to work in Jersey City, and used to come here all the time. This was long before Unilocal was around; over 10 years ago! Hey, I’m not that old; still in my twenties, haha! Anyways, the orange chicken is so good, probably the best. Why the 4 stars? I try and eat at local places; unfortunately I’m weak, and fall prey to yummy fast food on occasion. I will say, however, this orange chicken tops any local Chinese food place.

12.18 $ with a drink you would expect better portions, don’t let the picture fool you, it’s the container with the three sections, just appears that way because the rice is covering the styrofoam divider… I should of just had something else! Lol… angus beef with mushrooms was about two dollars extra because it was«angus beef» but the server probably put three small peices of angus with so much mushrooms… should of seen the Kung pao chicken… I felt like I was just eating vegetables the whole time… so not worth it, I get it… high price because it’s food court mall food but damn for the price I paid I could have went somewhere else and received better food! …sorry but yes no more Panda Express for me unless it was the only choice I had… and I do hella reviews and hate leaving bad reviews but it was not a great experience for me especially with the rice having no flavor at all, tasted kind of old like it’s been their all day, they need to send corporate to see what’s going on because Panda Express has been at Newport for how long I can remember and its fell off! Get it Together Panda Express Newport centre mall!

Fast Chinese that makes a good quick lunch or dinner option in Newport mall if you’re looking for some tasty, but unhealthy/oily Asian fare. You can get a plate of white/fried rice or noodles with with choices for entrees that you would find in any chinese takeout spot(think Kung Pao Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, Black Pepper Chicken, etc — all good choices btw). The staff are always friendly here eve later in the day. Be sure to ask for a sample if you’re on the fence and be aware some options have an extra charge(e.g. steak).

The panda express at this particular location ripped me off with 80% rice and 10% for each entrée. Proportions can be better

While the food tastes good, the quantity they give is pathetic. The company has taken measures to give its image a facelift — new signs and a new look, the food still disappoints. The chicken pieces are too small and infested with chicken skin. One has to hunt through a myriad of veggies and skin to find chicken. Don’t waste your money here.

One of my favorites at the mall, behind Sarku and Taco Bell. I like that you get to choose multiple sides. It is not authentic Chinese food. Prices are a bit high since an entrée with 2 sides runs about $ 8 – 9. Lots of flavor and probably lots of sodium as well.

Average mall Chinese food, nothing special. The steak with mushrooms is actually pretty good but skip the pepper chicken. The celery and onions that accompany the chicken aren’t bad the the chicken had that weird mystery meat look/feel/taste. Next time I’d just get double steak. The mall has that«dying mall» look and feel but it became somewhat crowded at lunch so plan accordingly.

Panda is going healthy as well with new dishes like kale & chicken breast and brown rice(which is very professionally cooked). The staff are very friendly and efficient. Remember to finish an online survey to get a redemption code for a free entrée. Yes I like Americanized Chinese food …

Nothing special. Just fast food. The orange chicken with bacon is exactly like what it sounds like. But it’s more expensive than the regular orange chicken. You’re better off just getting that. Also, the person let me sample the food before I chose it, which I thought was very nice.

I mostly end up here if I am in Newport mall during lunch time. Ofcourse, its the familiarity that pulls me back and not the food! I usually get the friedrice coz I find the noodles quite undercooked. I also stick with pepper chicken and kungpao chicken which are decent. The staff here have always been friendly which is another reason I keep coming back.

Last time I ate here was the late 1990s. That was when they made the food I just bought. Going down memory lane is over for another 2 decades.

It is goo dplace for the mall chinese food. Food is allways hot at this place and can’t go wrong with around $ 7 for 2 entrée and a rice.

I had beef and broccoli. The broccoli was good but the beef was substandard; the texture was completely smooth and the taste barely hinted at beef. 1.5 stars (Update 1÷12÷2013) A couple weeks ago I decided to eat here again. I ordered the firecracker chicken and a side of(steamed/blanched) vegetables. The vegetables were pretty decent. But the aftertaste of the firecracker chicken made me nauseous for hours. Never again. 1 star.

These are scarcer on the East Coast than I thought. Even disappearing from the airports. I always prefer the noodles, even if they are greasier. Their beef broccoli needs some more cooking(broccoli can be almost raw sometimes and in too big of chunks — they need to cut it a bit), but their orange chicken is good, and when they say something’s spicy, it’s not that much so. Mushroom chicken w/zucchini is probably the only other dish I get regularly there. Have yet to try the soup or egg rolls…

In LA, there are a plethora of Panda Expresses to choose from. There was even a little Panda station in the local Ralphs that I would frequent when I was on my way home. Suffice to say, since I’ve moved to NY, I’ve definitely gone to Jersey solely to partake in some heaven drenched orange chicken. Seriously people, the magic they make this chicken with is unbelievable. I don’t know, nor do I want to know, how the chicken gets the amazing sticky deliciousness oozing from every orifice. All I know is that I want more more more. I often think about moving to Jersey. Hey, the rent is cheaper and Panda is right around the corner. Sigh. Note to owners of Panda Express/City Planners: PLEASEOPENONEINMANHATTAN. That is all.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Chinese food in a mall — HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! So why am i giving it three stars? Well, i am a sucker when it comes to chinese food. I will eat at the most horrific place, but if the fried rice is good i’ll be a regular. And that’s how I feel about Panda Express. It’s sort of like the Cadillac of Yugo’s, if you get my drift. The only thing that is fresh on a regular basis is the rice and noodles. They churn both items out pretty quickly, so it doesn’t have that stale, been sitting for hours taste to it. I usually get the mandarin chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. I mean, how can they screw up chicken — pardon me, i mean how can they screw up «chicken»? In the abyss that is the Newport Mall food court, this is one of my regular stops. Don’t judge me, please.

Buyer’s beware! Usually my sister and I drool over Panda Express. It’s the best of the worst of fast food Chinese. There’s just something about all that grease. It’s just made better than everyone else’s. However, I recently went to Panda Express with my roommate and she had an unfortunate situation that happened to her which I just have to share. My roommate paid the Panda Express dude with a $ 50 bill. He handed her $ 3 back. She said, «Excuse me. I gave you a $ 50.» So then the guy opened the cash register and gave her $ 20. My roommate then said, «Um. I gave you $ 50. My meal was $ 7. You should at least give me back $ 43.» So then the guy gave her the other $ 20 back. I don’t think this was an issue of not knowing how to count money. I think the guy was really trying to make some money off of my roommate. He was not apologetic or even surprised when she kept asking for her correct change back. Nor did he even open the cash register to check if she really did give him a $ 50 bill. He knew. He was just hoping she would not be on top of things since she was a bit distracted and on her cell phone. But no one messes with Apt. 906! Big ballers watch out! And Panda Express Dude– we are on to you!
