My neighborhood goto store. It’s close, see regular folks(same people Giselle turned her nose up at), and buy some booze. The owners are nice… will stock what you ask them to. Not too expensive… compared to Buy-Rite. Booze, cigarettes, lottery, incense(they’re Indian). They get to know their regulars and it feels like an episode of Cheers… the take away version anyways. I might save a dollar or two going to Buy-Rite, but I’ll still come here… where everybody knows your name. Heh heh. Sorry Giselle!

I am appalled at the prices here for hard liquor! What would warrant top shelf brand vodka here to be priced $ 10 higher than anywhere else I shop? It’s not the cost of rent, lemme tell you! Nor is it that the typical clientele can afford it cause it’s not a highbrow neighborhood. Perhaps they know we are sometimes desperate cause it’s the only liquor store in the immediate vicinity of my condo? I have lived in the area for over 5 years now — I will say that I have stopped in several times over the years for wine which you can in fact get at a decent price, however, the selection is not the greatest. For vodka however, I recall from my first visit 5 years ago that the pricing was too high and I never once needed to purchase it again until recently, hence the recent review complete with 2 little stars… Shop here only if necessary.

I needed to lay some serious supplies as I heard a snow storm was coming and whilst others require bottled water and canned items this girl is gonna need some al-ki-hol. Well the lines at the Shop Rite Liquor were crazy long and I didn’t feel like stopping Downtown either so on our drive we saw this liquor store and figured we can at least get some wine. The selection quite frankly is pretty abysmal. I wandered around the small store reading every label and when I was about to give up I scoped through the use of my super human peripheral powers my favorite cabernet… in the refrigerator. Okay. At least they had it. Several dollars more than in my old neighborhood but watevs. The clientele is sketchy at best, lots of «lemme get that rollie and one can of budweiser and a lotto(?) ticket»(actual purchase while I was there) kind of crowd but they seemed to be regulars and the staff was pretty comfy/cool about it. I will say that I wound up picking up a few different bottles of whites and had a nice conversation with a gentleman I think may have been the owner who was very polite and quite chatty. Will I return? Prolly. At least most definitely when I need a rollie, a bud and lotto ticket.(not how I roIl, you know, anymore)
