I can’t wait to return back to New Jersey so that I can visit my favorite vegan food source. I highly recommend those that are looking to eat good food take the time to support. From Jersey City to Montclair, they are by far the best in quality and service. It’s a food truck which is what’s the best part. Meals on wheels lol.

Oh Green Radish, how I miss you so… Will you ever make it back to NYC? I have been craving one of your black bean burgers more than I care to admit — but today made you miss you even more. Cinnamon Snail moved back to NY, and I was excited to try them out — but their menu doesn’t hold up to yours! I do not enjoy spicy foods and stay away from gluten, so for me — their menu is extremely limited… PLEASECOMEBACK!

Food trucks have really been chipping away at my apathy for vegan food recently. This truck was at a local jersey city event and I tried their BBQ veggie burger. I’m not a usual fan of BBQ, but I ordered this burger because I was served on a Balthazar Ciabatta roll and their other veggie burger was served on a whole wheat roll. Aside from being a very filling meal for $ 10, it was also extremely tasty and had a nice(not sweet) BBQ sauce.

I came here when they first relocated to Jersey City to try it out. I got The Classic, which is a ¼lb Black Bean Burger with melted onions, smashed avocado, and chipotle mayo as well as the rosemary fries. I’m not a vegetarian, and I still thought this food was amazing. The burger was so flavorful and the ingredients blended together really well. The fries are not what you would typically expect as fries, they’re really slices of potato that are baked and grilled with rosemary and covered with their ketchup, which I believe is homemade(and also really tasty). To top it all off, the staff are very friendly and I had a nice conversation while I waited. Definitely worth checking this truck out, whether you’re a vegetarian or not!

It’s official — I’m in love. I never thought the Cinnamon Snail could be replaced, but then Jim, Chris and Abigail drove into my life. They recently started parking near my office and condo in JC, and their food is amazing. First timers — highly recommend the Banh Mi. Or anything. Plus the rosemary fries. If you love a great sandwich(vegan or not), this is your place.

The Green Radish is officially my favorite food truck, hands down. The people working were so sweet, and their food is out of this world! My boyfriend and I shared the BBQ burger, the classic burger, a raw brownie, and corn on the cob, and every single thing was lick-your-fingers-clean good.

I was very happy to have finally had a chance to visit the truck, today on 51st St. and Sixth Avenue. I tried both the classic black bean burger, and the chocolate covered«donart.» Both items were very well-made, and very fresh. The burger was delicious in a way that I am sure any carnivore would also be very happy with. It is messy(in a GOOD way) and quite genius. I would suggest a bun that is much less chewy though — it was certainly fresh, however here’s the problem: Since the bun is difficult to chew, this made all the other ingredients rather unwieldy. Get many extra napkins. The donart is healthy and moist. A guilt free dessert. The ordering procedure was a little bit confusing for my first time. The truck should specify which side is to place the order, and which side is to pick up. I was standing around for five minutes before I realized I was in the wrong place. I’ll be back. :)

Very awesome. I wasn’t even hungry, but walked by and was intrigued. I got the tofu banh mi. I actually was just going to get the sandwich, but the guy taking the order mentioned while I was looking at the menu that they can put any sandwich over greens. I went for it, and was pretty into it. The taste was awesome – bright and a little spicy, the tofu was great. Greens super fresh. Only con was that it was a littttttle overdressed for my taste. That being said, don’t forget my «salad» was originally supposed to be ordered as a sandwich, so I wasn’t really even turned off by that. I think they might have just put salad dressing on it in addition to the sandwich condiments. It was still pretty awesome. It was also a little pricey, but the quality is definitely apparent. The people who work there are excellent and super energetic, too. They seem excited about the food and it shows. Will be back for sure!

One of the best food trucks I’ve ever eaten from. Fresh and delicious healthy food. My favorite is the black bean burger. The donarts are super yummy. And the staff is so friendly.

Suffice it to say that vegan food trucks aren’t exactly a dime a dozen! So, imagine how happy I was to find The Green Radish(TGR) at my local farmer’s market here in New Jersey(no longer the case since it’s been cold, sadly – they stick around NYC during the week). For a new-ish, up and coming venture, TGR is a solid option for those of us who like our plant food! The good: 1. The staff is really friendly! Every time I’ve ordered from TGR, the owner has been there prepping food along with his staff, which I admire, and they’re always willing to make recommendations, adjustments to certain menu items, etc. 2. The food is good, vegan and all organic! I’ve had had the TLT, a tempeh sandwich on GF bread, which was really good! I’ve also had a delicious sweet potato special they were having one afternoon – also delish! As are the soups I’ve tried. The«eh»: 1. I am a diehard dessert lover… if something is vegan, GF, and sweet, I’ll probably eat it and enjoy it at least a little bit. So for me to say that I don’t understand the hype surrounding their donarts… sort of a big deal. I’ve tried donarts of different flavors on 3 separate occasions and just find them very dry and with a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste. NOW, I’m a huge fan of raw, vegan desserts which tend to be very rich, heavy and moist, so that could be why I’m not sold on the dry, baked donart, but nevertheless, they just don’t blow my mind by any means. I know they’ve started offering a raw donart, which is probably more up my alley, so I will try that next time. I’ve not tried any of the other desserts, so I cannot comment on those. But that donart, man… just can’t hold water next to some of the pastries offered by another vegan food truck you might be familiar with. All in all though, I can’t wait for TGR to return to my local farmer’s market! The friendly faces and fresh, organic vegan fare are all greatly missed!

I am always on the lookout for vegan trucks and so I was excited when I found out about this place. Next I checked their schedule and saw that they parked right next to my office — so I was quite excited!(I am also the person who goes to Cinnamon Snail every week between the hours of 10:30−11am). The first time I was here I tried their classic black bean burger; however they messed up the bread and gave me non gluten free bread. I suspected something was off with the bread so ended up just eating the patty — but it was a bit dry and not that flavorful. It’s not about the fact its vegan, I have had plenty of black bean burgers(in fact I make it at home too and they can taste pretty decent) When I wrote to the owner, he was nice enough to invite me back for a free sandwich. This time I ordered the TLT sandwich which is a tempeh, lettuce and tomato sandwich and comes with a siracha mayo. The sandwich was good and was quite filling. That being said, it wasn’t amazing or finger licking good. Would I go here again? Perhaps, if I am craving a sandwich and they are around work, but I won’t go out of my way to eat at this place. The owner also gave me a free donart(which was very nice of him), all of their desserts are gluten free. The dessert was good; the cake itself had a little bit of an aftertaste but the icing was really good.

Had the black bean burger and it was really underwhelming. And for $ 11 not a very good value, even considering it’s organic, for just a burger with no side. I guess if you’re a vegan and don’t have a lot of options then you might be excited by this place, but I’m an omnivore who just eats some vegetarian meals, and this didn’t do it for me.

My co-worker kept on waiting and waiting to try their vegan food, so when they were finally in Midtown we jumped at the chance to check them out. I ordered their salad and was disappointed to receive an overdressed, rather skimpy salad. For dessert I ordered their donart and the friendly staff threw in the brownie for free since I couldn’t make up my mind(yay!). As a fan of vegan treats, these too were rather disappointing. Super friendly staff but the food IMO was underwhelming. Check out my full review with pictures on my blog:

This truck is great. A wee bit pricey, but the food is pretty awesome! I wish they were in Montclair more often and also offered gluten-free wraps/rolls, etc.

I love these guys!!! Definitely the highlight of my Wednesdays(38th& Broadway). The black bean burger is always amazing(the chipotle mayo & avocado purée make it!). I’ve tried the cinnamon sugar, raspberry glaze & double dark chocolate glaze donarts, and of them, the cinnamon & sugar is my favorite, and would highly recommend it! All 3 are great, but I like the sweetness of the cinnamon & sugar best. The cabbage slaw & sweet potato fritters are also amazing. All the glowing praise aside, I didnt love the Grilled Cheese. The soy cheese on mine didnt really melt, and it wasnt really what I was looking for. Looking forward to trying other things, and the daily specials, which are usually pretty good! And the staff is awesome & super friendly!

A welcome addition to the vegan food truck community — as in, there are now officially… two in NYC!(If I’m missing any, someone PLEASE tell me.) I’ve had the chickpea burger and butternut squash soup, both of which were delish. The prices seem a little steep to me, but the food is high quality and healthy so I’m wiling to shell out. Probably the best part of this truck is the people working there, who give out radishes on sticks like lollipops to people waiting in line. When I told them radishes give you fresh breath, they burst into spontaneous applause. I am surprised a rainbow doesn’t magically appear in the sky above wherever they’re parked. One last thing: COOKIES. Possibly the best oatmeal cookie I’ve had in NYC. Worth going for that alone.

My office is in the Penn Station area, which is usually a black hole when it comes to food trucks… so when I saw that The Green Radish was parked on 38th& Broadway one day, I jumped at the chance to try it, especially after having seen it endorsed by The Cinnamon Snail(my favorite truck in the city!) Luckily there weren’t too many people lined up, so I didn’t have to wait too long to order or for my food — probably about 10 minutes total. I ordered the black bean burger, which was really messy, but pretty good. I liked that there were lots of caramelized onions and avocado, though I thought it could’ve used a bit more chipotle mayo. While I was waiting for my food, there was also a woman handing out free samples of their vegan cookies, so I tried the pumpkin cookie. It was too doughy for my liking, so I probably wouldn’t order that. It also had a bit of grittiness that reminded me of an oatmeal raisin cookie — I’m guessing this was from the hemp. The people at the truck were all very friendly and pleasant. I’ll probably be back again if they’re back on 38th& Broadway.

I have a hard time giving this truck 3 stars when I really want to give it 2. I was so excited to see a new vegan option pop up in the flatiron district, even if its only 1 day a week. A friend tipped me off that they were on the corner near my job on Tuesday so I ran down at lunch to get my vegan eat on. Blah. The menu consists of a bunch of vegan sandwich choices… there was a chickpea sandwich, portobello sandwich, black bean sandwich… I had the TLT– aka Tempeh, Lettuce and Tomato. I was psyched. It tasted OK. Here’s my thoughts: Toast the bread– and if it was toasted… toast that shit more. It was so soggy by the time I walked a half block back to my office. Cut the tempeh in half and grill it more. The slices were way too thick. And in doing this, shave a buck or two off the price. Someone else who ordered this said the same exact thing so i’m not being crazy and picky. The people working were so happy and nice. I almost hate giving this review. They’re new and have some stuff to work on. I will absolutely be back because I’m intrigued by the vegan lobster roll. I’ll gladly update my review if they redeem themselves. Also* all of their desserts are gluten free if thats your thing. Not my thing. Best of luck, Radish! I want to see more!
