New Year’s Eve dinner at the best restaurant in the area! Had crab encrusted grouper over seafood risotto– what a delight. Grouper was fresh and the risotto was packed with seafood. Always a great place to eat, holidays or any day.

ITJUSTKEEPSGETTINGBETTER!!! I think what makes Trattoria 903 such a great restaurant is their incredible consistency!!! We’ve been eating amazing meals at Trattoria 903 for many years… so many restaurants in this area serve great meals when they first open, and 9 months later the quality drops off significantly and of course a year later they’re out of business… We ate there again last saturday night and the food & service was outstanding!!! You have to admit, great service is at least 50% of the experience and our waitress, Loretta, was incredible!!! She immediately brought us waters, hot rolls fresh from the oven, and this wonderful plate of olive oil infused with sautéed garlic & onions… They seemed to redo and simplify their wine menu as well… and on Loretta’s suggestion we ordered a bottle of the Coppola Cabernet… They actually bring you the Coppola Claret and it’s an outstanding dry red for the price!!! So we noticed they have a bright new menu format since we were last in and it makes it so much easier to read… We were gonna order their domestic antipasto tray to share among the three of us, and Loretta made us aware that for a few extra bucks they could do an antipasto tray with«imported» salami, prosciutto, aged provolone, fresh mozzarella, sweet balsamic, with an assortment of marinated olives & peppers… OMG, this was sooo good with the red wine!!! So between the three of us we had their Chicken Francese, the Tortelloni Michael Angelo, and their Chicken alla Casa… As my wife always says; the best Chicken Francese in the Poconos!!! The Tortelloni they make is my favorite and it’s incredible… cheese filled tortelloni with shallots, portabella mushrooms and prosciutto in a brandied cream sauce… this sauce is to die for!!! I think the Chicken alla Casa might be a new dish… it was sauteed chicken breast and sweet Italian sausage with assorted peppers, onions and mushrooms in a garlic white wine sauce topped with fresh mozzarella and served over pasta… Our buddy TJ,(a self proclaimed food critic) said it was outstanding!!! I think what sets this restaurant apart from it’s peers is their use of very fresh, top quality ingredients… and here’s the best part; these dishes ranged from $ 13.95 to $ 15.95!!! How do you beat that??? This restaurant, after all these years still has it all; an outstanding setting in the middle of a «magic forest», a wonderful ambience complete with a stone fireplace and warm lighting, the best food in the Poconos, and the best service you could hope for!!! We gave Loretta a 20%+ tip for the outstanding service and still got out of there for $ 102 for the three us!!! what more can you say… We can hardly wait to go back!!! Thanks guys for another truly wonderful evening!!!

You’ll read a lot about their food being amazing — and it’s all true — but what touches me the most about Trattoria is Hassan and the way that he treats my parents. My Dad is disabled, and my Mom spends so much of her time caring for him, putting him and the rest of our family always first. When they go to Trattoria, Hassan treats them like they are King and Queen, and it makes my heart swell to see someone giving back to my parents. What he and his staff give is more than just food — it’s a nourishment that goes way beyond the belly. Hassan, I can’t thank you enough. You are a blessing to our family.

We had reservations for Friday night(11-20-2015) at 6:30pm and the going to see Three Dog Night at Penns Peak. We got there and did not get seated until 7:10pm. The owner was very nice and offered us drinks while waited and told us that the people at the table were done eating but had that table for approx 2 hours. After we finally got the table we got a free appetizer and then our meal. But neither my wife or I had time to finish our dinner or relax and enjoy because we had to get to the show. We will go back one more time and see if our experience is better

Thre times a charm! We made a trip to Jim Thorpe just so we could end up here, and it was great again! This was our third visit and it has been on point every time. Get the stuffed chicken, it so good!

Horrible… This is the first time I have been here and have been displeased. Ordered penne al la vodka and requested to add chicken, well I guess since I added something they decided I didn’t want the rest of the ingrediants in the dish… beacause there weren’t any… and the sauce… was almost non-exsistant, super disappointed.

We had stopped here on a Sunday for a late lunch on a long drive home from a weekend of hiking. We read some good reviews and decided to stop. We were quickly greeted and seated. The service was timely, attentive, and courteous, And the atmosphere comfortable. We ordered the Tuscan chicken salad and the open faced meatball sandwich. Both were very good, but I should warn that if you order the meatball sandwich, you better be hungry. We had a good experience and will stop again when in the area.

I have been to many Italian restaurants all over New England. This was down right the BEST one I have been to in 11 years. Hassan was simply so kind, diligent and impressive when checking on ALL the tables and helping customers. The food… oooh my creamy veal pesto made me close my eyes to savor every bite. I felt like I was in heaven or a commercial. I will be sure to visit this place anytime I am in the state of PA. Thank you for one of the best meals in my life. Please move to Boston. Hats off, cheers!

I visited there for dinner last night with friends. Salad’s are large, and suggest that they are good to share for two. Had the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad, which was excellent. Everybody really enjoyed their meal, with one exception. There was a Veal Chop as a special, and that is one of my favorite meals, so I choose that. The piece of meat was tasty, and well cooked, except for that it was not Veal, but Beef. The difference can be told by taste, and color. That really disappointing to me, and that is the reason that I reduced my rating to 4 stars. I would have given it only three stars, but am hoping that it was an honest mistake by the server. I would go again, if I were in the area.

We are from California visiting some friends here in PA, its our first time here, at TRATTORIA903 in Jim Thorpe, as we enter the main lobby, immediately your greeted in the comfort & ambience of this beautiful decorated restaurant .it was busy and I was not sure we were going be seated right away. There food is by far the best food in town! We ordered a ravioli plate, shrimp scampi, veal plate and your basic spaghetti, each plate had generous portion we were able to share and have a small sample taste of everyone’s dinner. This is definitely one of the top places that I have ever visited and the cuisine was succulent and divine The service was terrific, the nicest and most hard working wait staff. i love the fact that the owner and head chef of the restaurant Hassan walks over to every table to ask if the staff was able to accommodates their needs and if the food was good to their expectations. And of coarse we had to try the desserts we chose: tiramisu, lemon cake, vanilla cheesecake, they were great, both the flavor & presentation. This was by far the best Italian restaurant I have tasted, the best kept secret in the Poconos. Oops did I just reveal the location!

Looking back at how this place used to be before the new owner took over, it’s leaps and bounds greater! My fiancé and I first experienced this restaurant when we were picking up a catering order for a friend of ours. We were there way too early but the owner welcome us in and even took us through a tour of the kitchen. Which, by the way, is extremely immaculately clean. He was baking the bread for the dinner rolls that evening and it smelled amazing. He explained all of his hopes and dreams for the future of the restaurant. That was a few years ago. My fiancé and I go there for a Valentine’s Day, and when we’re looking for a romantic night out. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, something that isn’t really offered in this area very often. And I cannot explain how delicious the food is. The owner/chef has such an amazing passion for his food. You can taste how fresh it is! I have never been disappointed going to this restaurant. In fact when the time comes when my fiancé and I are getting married we want him to cater our rehearsal dinner.

Beautiful location and the outdoor seating is lovely though we were seated indoors. The dining area was nicely decorated and had a fire place. There is a separate bar area with taller table for two seating. It was actually quiet compared to the main seating area. We started the night with a bottle of seven daughters moscato which was very light and sweet and typical of moscato which I loved. Our appetizer was the bruschetta which was amazing!!! It was one of the first time I had eaten bruschetta without most of the topping falling off. It was also delicious. My husband ordered the chicken saltimbocca for his entrée and he rated it a 6⁄10. Honestly it looked like they gave him almost the entire chicken and the way the fresh mozzarella was melted and swirled into the sauce did not look all that appealing. I felt it was a 7.5÷10 when I tasted it. The chicken was done and was juicy, not tough. I ordered one of the many specials… The herb encrusted scallops on seafood risotto. It was to die for!!! The seafood was all perfectly cooked and the risotto was creamy and tasted slightly sweet with just the taste of cream, butter and fresh seafood and no excessive«fishiness». The scallops were good sized with a nice seat and melted in your mouth! We finished the night with a shared slice of lemon Italian cream cake that was very good. They were out of the crème brûlée cheese cake we had wanted that sounded amazing. The presentation of all but the chicken saltimbocca was top notch typical of a fine dining establishment. The service was excellent and quick. Our appetizer was out within 5 – 10 min. The entrée took a little longer at 15 – 20 min and our waitress apologized for our wait immediately as she gave them to us. Out wine and water glasses were never empty. Loved this place. Also was great for family and kids.

My fiancé and I had a great experience here tonight. We were able to sit outside, and it was quiet and beautiful. We both had soup as an appetizer and it was awesome. He had cream of mushroom, I had the seafood bisque. Our entrees were the obvious highlight of the meal. We both ordered their specials, lobster ravioli and the ribeye with a mushroom demi glaze. I don’t know how we had room for desert but we were able to barely make it through sharing the salted caramel cake, coconut sorbet and tartufo. I highly recommend! Don’t forget a glass of moscato.

The first time we ate here(around 2013) we left both amused and happy. We have returned twice and enjoyed it both times. On our first visit my husband’s dish, which was not supposed to have mushrooms arrived with mushrooms(which he hates). We pointed it out to the waitress, but stressed that it was no big deal since the pieces were large enough to easily pick out.(We are not high maintenance diners). However, she did let the chef know and from our vantage point right outside the kitchen we witnessed a mini-tantrum on the part of the chef when he double checked the menu and realized the mistake. However we both agreed the food was super good. We returned here for our anniversary and for another special occasion dinner and were very pleased with each meal. I highly recommend. Would probably visit more often, but it is a bit of a drive for us.

Definitely a mis understanding returned on the owners invitation… and the good service and attitude was excellent… Very rude … Instead of just saying we don’t have a table because we didn’t have reservation. Looked at us and scolded hostess for trying to sit us with out reservation. Looked at us and at least 5 different occasions said they have no reservation you can’t just sit them. Then when we were leaving because felt so uncomfortable chased us and said he could seat us… Def

Came here with friends after whitewater rafting. Didn’t make reservation but the manager accommodated us with a table by the window within 5 – 10 mins. The restaurant was good size but are already filled with patrons. Bread basket arrived first and I love it when bread rolls are served warm(1 star for that alone). We ordered fried calamari to share as an appetizer — very fresh and tender, and lightly seasoned batter that’s just right. For main we ordered the following: Linguini Alla Vongole(clams) in white sauce, angel hair pescatori in white wine and garlic sauce, chicken Alla parmagiana, and from the chef specials menu we ordered a grouper and scallops fettuccine and a seared sashimi grade tuna with sesame seed crust with roast vegetables. All the seafood dishes were excellent — very fresh produce, cooked to perfection. The grouper, scallops and the seared tuna were superb. And did I mention the giant shrimps? I should mention them. Amazing. Didn’t give it a 5 star because I found the sauce to be a little too thin(tho it is a white wine sauce so Maybe I will try red sauce next time). The chicken parmagiana was also a little under seasoned based on friend’s feedback. Otherwise definitely worth coming back to for some good fresh seafood.

My girlfriend and I visited on a Friday night. We had a reservation and even though we were late, they still provided excellent accommodations. The place was packed! We started with the house salad, bread, then chicken francese and tortelloni Michael angelo. Wow. Everything was amazing and affordable. Huge portions. The owner and staff were so gracious and hospitable. Best Italian food in Jim Thorpe. Everyone who visits/lives here must try this place!

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant for Valentine’s Day. We aren’t from the area and are spending the weekend. We looked up reviews for the restaurant and decided that it was the winner however, due to the bad weather we didn’t arrive until about 9:20(with closing reading as 10). The hostess was wonderful, asking how the drive was and how bad it was outside. The owner or manager Hassan came up and let us know that they would seat us but the kitchen was closing at 9:30. We did apologize and said we only saw the hours for 10pm and the drive took longer than expected. He responded with well we will take care of you but it has been a long day for us too and 10pm is when we lock the doors. That just rubbed me the wrong way, I understand making it known that the kitchen was closing but he didn’t have to go that far. When we were seated the service was wonderful and so was the food. I got the chicken francesse and my boyfriend got the veal parm. Both had plenty of food and tasted great. We did try our best not to linger as we knew they were closing. The owner did come over an apologize and offered free dessert that was equally as amazing. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

Good God, the portions would make Chef Ramsey have a heart attack. We ordered 2 chicken parms and I am 110% sure that it could have fed a family of 6+. Although you’re getting a huge portion for your money, I’d say hold off due to the lack of flavour. However, since you’re basically in the middle of nowhere with next to no options for decent food, I would retract my previous statement and say come here because there’s not much else open at night.
