Love this restaurant. Food was cooked perfectly. Our waiter Bobby was outstanding. This is a not miss OTP restaurant. Get the gravy fries!!! The only critique I have is that our soufflé’s were undercooked and mushy. We were looking forward to that course and were disappointed.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Viande Rouge last night and it was a truly excellent experience. The service was outstanding as was the food. My Steak Diane, cooked at the table, was perfectly prepared as was my wife’s filet. I highly recommend this place and I think it compares favorably with the more expensive fine dining restaurants in downtown Atlanta. And unlike many of those restaurants, Viande Rouge is quiet enough that you can have a conversation and not have to shout across the table.

We ate here for the first time last night for a combined anniversary/birthday dinner and had a lovely time. When they called to confirm our OpenTable reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. Our server brought us a hand-written congratulations card signed by all of the staff, which I thought was a nice touch, and offered us dessert on the house. My husband had the lobster bisque, which was really delicious. They used a slightly darker roux than you usually see for a bisque, which gave it a pleasant nuttiness. I started with the escargot, which is a different presentation than the classic garlic-butter. It’s served over toast points with a rich brown sauce including plenty of sauteed mushrooms and roma tomatoes. It wasn’t what I was expecting for escargot, but it was delicious and the snails were perfectly tender. For our main course, I was tempted by the duck confit but settled on a small filet Oscar, and my husband had a large filet. Both pieces of meat were a perfect medium-rare and had excellent flavor. My Oscar topping was generous and had a nice tarragon flavor. We shared a cauliflower gratin as a side, which we enjoyed. We chose the raspberry soufflé for dessert, and it was wonderful. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list as well as the menu. The wine-by-the-glass selection isn’t huge, but we really enjoyed the red we chose, and the pour was generous. Next time we’ll go for a bottle, though. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but we actually spent less than we had expected, and we’ve had more expensive meals that we’ve enjoyed much less. The food, atmosphere, and the service were all perfect for a special dinner, and we’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic experience all around. Unrushed and attentive service in a dimly lit cozy environment. Wife started with a signature cocktail and then the warm asparagus salad prepared table side, followed by an exceptional filet. I had the oysters and scallops. We finished with the Gran Market soufflé. The waiter Robert was amazing and we’ll ask for him the next time we return which won’t be long. My only suggestion is they need a broader wine selection.

My parents might like this place. Only because they have terrible taste in food and perhaps the prestige pricing would resonate with them. However, in terms of any kind of uniqueness or quality, there is none. We started by ordering drinks, which came out wrong. No big deal, people make mistakes… Proceeding to order… Excuse me? Your $ 35 filet mignon is flat? Flat… What does that mean? ½ inch thick. No thanks. We will order the fondue and decide from there. Who can mess up fondue? Well when it’s served with browning apple slices and chewy French bread, I wouldn’t call it a win, by any stretch. The apple wasn’t even cored. Cmon’ a little effort could go a long way. We asked for our check and left. We understand suburbia is borderline food desert in terms of quality, but this isn’t worth the time to try. Next please.

This place is amazing. Interestingly enough I heard about this place from a computer repair store I frequently visit. I was looking for a place to propose to my longtime girlfriend and the owner of that store said I should take her here. PERFECTEXPERIENCE. The food — excellent. The service was Ritz Carlton. Atmosphere was heavenly. Oh and she said YES. So all and all

Wow! What an amazing restaurant! I visited Viande Rouge for the first time last week and left impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere. This place came highly recommended from a local colleague and I was not disappointed. For dinner, I ordered the hamburger and it was one of the best I have tasted. My colleagues ordered steaks and loved theirs, too. As a table, we ordered sides of sautéed spinach, cheesy cauliflower and asparagus. They were all delicious. The staff members were so very attentive without being overbearing. It’s a smaller restaurant, so the staff was able to devote plenty of time to making our table feel important and well cared for. This place is perfect for special occasions or, as in my case, a business meal. It is quiet, allowing for more intimate conversations.

Well… My expectations were high… And I was disappointed. Since it was advertised as an adult only atmosphere, I guess I was expecting a little more sophistication in the facility. However, it was the opposite. We were greeted by a man that was pretty much bouncing around while he used words like, «let’s rock and roll,» while he escorted us to our table. Are we at the Hard Rock Café? Rocking and Rolling? This set the tone for an all and all, «eh» evening. The hostess was wearing something too tight for her body and just not elegant in any way, her hair was a mess, and it was not a very good first impression of the restaurant at all. Again, setting the tone… The music of choice was a gruesome mix of 90s-00s Natalie Merchant and Nora Jones… Not classy, not French, just not… The server was nice enough and did his job well, but he made the mistake of taking away plates while one of people at our table was still eating, very rude. There was a lot reaching over plates… Ugh! He also wanted to shake hands at the end of the night… That’s nice and all, but his hands were clammy and it just didn’t round off the evening in a pleasant manner. Now, the food… Escargot was divine. Loved it. The tomato salad was disappointing. It was nothing more than a beefsteak tomato with mozzarella balls, basil and balsamic vinegar with olive oil– nothing special. I thought the tomato would be at least of heirloom variety… I had the beef bourguignon. It was very saucy, almost too much so that I couldn’t taste the beef. My husband had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. My mother in law had the steak diane. She said it was alright. The sides we had were also just mediocre. I was unamused with the creamed corn, the potatoes didn’t even look inviting, so I passed on that, the sautéed spinach was just like I would make at home. All in all, it was a mediocre experience. I wouldn’t go again. Too much sauce, not enough class, it’s not 5 star, it’s more causal. Everyone was dressed in business casual like the rest of all the restaurants in Johns Creek… We felt very over dressed. And to end the night, the soufflé was runny.

I really really enjoyed this place. I was turned on by the menu but it was really hard to get a reservation so I had to wait until 9:30 to eat which was not a problem. The service was outstanding!!! My food was definitely 4 out of 5 stars. I ordered the lamb chops. The server ran down the marinade and seasoning so I expected it to be much more flavorful but they were somewhat bland. Its cool because they were tender and still delicious. The dessert everyone was ordering was the banana foster so I decided to get it. Its prepared table side and was it was really good. I will definitely be coming back.

Very nice place but my remarks are as follows : –no need for the TV screen on the bar as it is out of place and out of style for a nice restaurant . –need more liquor varaietes such as lemon chello… etc In general very nice and highly recommended.

My husband and I went here for Valentine’s day dinner last night as they’re not open on Sunday. I found out about the restaurant when they were listed in the most romantic restaurants in the country. They were the only one in Georgia so i was curious to see what it was all about. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation but the table wasn’t ready so we had them call us when it was because there was no waiting area and bar area was full. It was freezing outside so we just drove around. Got the call 10 minutes after the reservation time. Inside is a beautiful vintage French red décor and it was PACKED… not with meat but with people lol. For starters, i had the classic swiss fondue while my husband had the caesar salad. The dressing was actually made table side!!! Never seen that… pretty cool. His salad was really good… i liked it. I prefer my fondue with the fuji apples… so good. Main course for me was Lobster tails broiled. You have the option to get it fried but i’m not a fan of fried seafood. It was cooked to perfection and garnished with what i think was yellow bell peppers and some other stuff. He had 10 oz filet with a side of Baked potatoes loaded. Im usually the greedy one but he was greedy and couldn’t finish the potato. Overall, i think it was really nice but i would love to return when they’re not as busy. Maybe during an anniversary dinner. The space is small and the bar was too noisy. The food was amazing and service was great. We were on a waiting list for Valentine’s day and i appreciate them being able to fit us in or it would have been a 4 star experience.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint! The food was incredible. We got the meatballs and crab cake as an appetizer, both delicious. I got the beef bourguignon – wonderful. The meat was so tender and the accompanying sauce had an incredible depth of flavor. My boyfriend got the 10 oz. filet and cleaned his plate. We got the chocolate soufflé for dessert, and it was a near religious experience. What put this dinner over the edge was the service. Our waiter Wes was exceptional. Friendly, funny, and full of fantastic recommendations. We also received a card wishing us a happy anniversary. I am sad to say I must have forgotten it at my table. I blame the three glasses of Pinot Noir… A truly exceptional meal for any special occasion.

Wow, wow, wow. It is rare that I am so impressed with a restaurant. I saw an article on Facebook talking about their child-free policy so the guy and I made reservations for last night. I didn’t get my hopes up as the article said the location was in a strip mall. BUT… It is gorgeous inside and out, just a treat for the eyes. Small, intimate, dark and cozy. Hostess is warm and welcoming, they even have a coat check which I very much appreciate. Our server, Brian, was knowledgeable about the menu and quite helpful in helping us decide what to have for this first visit. I had the duck confit and my partner the aged ribeye. Oh dear heavens! The food delivered to us was unbelievably good. The duck just fell off the bone, Brian brought a knife but it was unnecessary. The aged ribeye was the absolute best steak I’ve ever tasted, even better than Rathbun’s which had been my steak benchmark for years. Just go, make your reservations and get there. FYI it’s a fuzz on the pricey side(steak was $ 65, duck was $ 35, I think) but well worth it!

DAMN. Why did it take me so long to write this review? Made a reservation on a Tuesday for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner and were greeted by the nicest people. They had written my boyfriend a birthday card and wished him a happy birthday. Needless to say he was very happy. The service was great, although a bit overbearing at times but that’s a thing of personal preference. On to the food, we started with a soup which was yummy but the real star was our entrée, Steak Au Poivre. DAYUMMMMM that was amazing. Tender, juicy, tasty, peppery melt-in-yo-mouth deliciousness that did that cow the honor it deserved. Thank you for a fantastic meal and we will be back.

In a word… Incredible! We went on a Tuesday evening to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were seated promptly at a table prepared for us with a lovely anniversary card signed by the entire staff. We were also pleasantly surprised at how busy the restaurant was for a weeknight! From the moment we walked in the door, the service was outstanding! Our waiter, Wes, made some wonderful suggestions for our meal, and the entire staff was very attentive to every detail. We started with the Kobe meatballs(a Wes suggestion), and they were so flavorful and tender. It was a great start to share. Then we moved on to the lobster bisque and caesar salad; both were outstanding. The caesar salad is made fresh tableside. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and the fried lobster tail was one of the best we’ve ever had(another Wes suggestion). Dinner was finished with the grand marnier soufflé, and it’s definitely enough to split. A really wonderful meal from start to finish. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

Was looking for somewhere to go with my family on Saturday night with a same-day reservation available and decided to try Viande Rouge for the 2nd time. I can’t say enough good things about the food. We started with the escargot and the meatballs. The meatballs were extremely tender and very flavorful, highly recommended. The escargot was pre-shelled, something I usually don’t like, but was prepared well and the sauce/oil it was served with was delicious-none of it went to waste. My brother ordered the Steak Diane, which was prepared table-side by a waiter. It was cooked to perfection(as was all of the meat we ordered), and the generous helping of sauce accompanying it was all gone by the time we finished. My mother got the spinach crepes and the crab cakes. Both were good but if you don’t get a beef dish here, you’re doing it wrong. My dad got the beef bourguignon, which was good but not great. It was cooked well enough but lacking in flavor. I chose the 6 oz filet accompanied with a fried egg and Parmigiano which was a mistake because it was the best steak I’ve had in years and I wish I got the 10 oz or 14 oz bone-in filet instead. The egg was perhaps the best cooked egg I’ve ever had, the yolk was as runny as I liked and no more. Absolutely delectable. Service: Before coming here, I read some reviews about the soufflés so we told our waiter before ordering our food and he said he would put it in 5 minutes into our meal so we wouldn’t have to wait. Of course he forgot to and when we asked to make sure as we were finishing our food(good thing we did), he told us he would put it in for us and acted like he hadn’t forgot anything. Our waiter in particular was very bad. Honestly, one of the worst waiters I’ve had in quite some time. He made us wait 10 minutes to order our food even after flagging him down, we had to ask for bread multiple times, and we ended up waiting 20 minutes AFTER we had our dinner plates taken for the soufflé, even though we took the necessary precaution(informing him that we wanted one and didn’t want to wait before even ordering dinner) to avoid just that. He ended up comping it, likely because a fellow waiter who overheard our displeasure relayed it to him, because of course he didn’t come by before that for the duration of our wait. I considered giving this place 3 stars because of it and almost gave it 4 but the food is just too good and even after receiving sub-par service, I’m eager to return. To be quite honest, the rest of the staff seemed attentive and willing to help, especially the one who cooked our Steak Diane. This is by FAR the best restaurant in the Duluth/JC area and one of the best in the Atlanta area overall.

Viande Rouge is a sexy, warmly lit restaurant tucked away in a shopping strip(?) but it’s as good as any intown bistro and beyond. The food and service are terrific. It’s a steak place primarily — the name is something like red meat translated — and as you might hope, the steaks are delicious. Even when I «ruin» a steak, by getting it well done, this place delivered tender juicy meat cooked perfectly for my ruinous desires. The standby accompaniments — Caesar salad made at the table(or bar as it was in our case) was perfection — the perfect balance of egg,(optional) anchovies, cheese and greens. The baked potato had the perfect edge of crispness to the skin and was moist and delicious on the inside. I’m used the blue cheese being the cheese of choice with a «fully loaded potato — on the side», but I’ve noticed more than once OTP, that it’s usually cheddar offered. Be sure to ask for Blue if that’s your preference. It’s very good cheese — and bacon from our own AE Pine Street Market — that bacon is going places! A really great romantic spot — leave the kidlets at home and enjoy a sexy, delicious evening out with your love.

For our 2-year anniversary we decided to book reservations at the French-themed steakhouse, Viande Rouge. The setting was ideal — warm and inviting, romantically lit, classy, and elegant. We were seated in the corner within view of the bar. Service was on point throughout the evening. Our water glasses were never empty, the waiter was professional and friendly — and wise enough to be present when needed and invisible when not. We started our meal with an hors d’œuvre — Wagu Boulettes. These tender meatballs served over creamy polenta and jus with a garnish of fresh watercress made for the perfect appetizer. They tantalized the taste-buds. They were complex in flavor, yet they were not too rich or bold. Subtle and delicious. For the main course, I ordered the Steak Au Poivre. My wife ordered the Beef Bourguignon. We also ordered a side of Gratin Dauphinois(scalloped potatoes). While the steak was cooked medium-rare(as requested), I was a little disappointed by the lack of any sear marks. Underneath the thick coating of whole peppercorns that topped my steak, the meat was a flat gray. While I recognize that Au Poivre is a steak encrusted with peppercorns, it really was too peppery. The cognac and cream sauce that is normally spooned over such a steak to cut through the pungency of the peppercorns was virtually non-existent. I ended up scraping off most of the peppercorns to make my steak edible again. Le sigh. The Beef Bourguignon was magical. The flavors were rich and complex. The beef was succulent and tender. It was truly perfection on a plate. I was envious of my wife’s pick. There are not enough superlatives that I could use to describe this plate. Really. The Gratin Dauphinois was also excellent. The cheese sauce was rich and creamy. The scalloped potatoes were cooked perfectly. Yummy. Now, the pièce de résistance — dessert. Though we were warned that their soufflés took over twenty minutes to prepare, we were totally willing to order one. We had three choices: chocolate, raspberry, and Grand Marnier. We chose raspberry and waited. About 20 minutes later, the most airy dessert, popped out of its serving vessel, was placed before us. The waiter than punctured the roof of the soufflé and poured more liquid in through the hole. Two cookies also accompanied the soufflé. It was quite possibly the best dessert I have ever had. It was light and heavenly. It was sweet, but not too sweet. The raspberry flavor(possibly Chambord?) was present but subtle. Ridiculously good, and well worth the wait. Taking everything into consideration — the setting, the service, the appetizer, my wife’s entrée, the side, and the dessert I was able to overlook the mild disappoint that my steak created. The price for everything(including two glasses or wine) was about $ 110(before tip), and they were so kind to comp our dessert because of our anniversary — totally an acceptable price for such a meal. I would definitely recommend Viande Rouge for a special occasion dinner.
