This hotel is getting a 5 star rating based solely on its staff. I’m not saying the hotel room was bad at all. Clean and totally acceptable. The staff was just so amazing I had to write the review. I was in town for 2 night for a business event. The girls who worked the front desk and bistro were so hospitable and sweet. They served an amazing lunch, offered unlimited help and basically took care of our every need. For someone who travels frequently, this type of warm service can really make your day. Also, I didn’t get my room cleaned the first night and they left towels and extra toiletries in a bag on my door. I thought that was pretty cool :)

Incredibly friendly and kind staff– at the front desk and bistro. Hotel and room were clean and what you would expect from a Courtyard.

Nice hotel that is relatively new. Everything is clean and well kept and the staff was very friendly. Only drawback to my stay was very poor lighting in the bathroom which made it difficult to shave well in the morning.

A really new, clean and nice Courtyard by Marriott in Johnson City. I had a one night stay — in after seven and out before 8:30 the next morning. It was quiet, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Only downside was breakfast — something delayed my order for 15 minutes longer than my colleague I was eating with. Otherwise, well worth staying at in the area.

Where do I start? I guess with my online reservation. Booked it on the interwebs because they’re all high tech like that, right?(spoiler: they’re not). Online reservation went swimmingly, or so I thought. I arrive and they tell me there are no rooms left! wtf? They see my reservation, but the«computer» must have made an error when it allowed me to book it. After some serious hemming and hawing, they finally act like THEY are doing ME a huge favor this one time and eventually give me a room. They’re not even nice about, they really think they are doing me a favor. That alone is bad, but not terrible, at least I have a room. But it gets worse. Unlucky for me I guess, but apparently there was some school/team/children group that was also staying there. I don’t know how many there were, but they were EVERYWHERE. Running through the hallways, yelling, banging on doors(yes they actually ran down the hall knocking random doors. who does that? where are your parents? shouldn’t kids know better?) jumping around in the room above. this continued to around midnight. Note: breakfast is NOT free. They put it out all buffet style(a lot like a residence inn layout, which is free), then try to charge you after you fill up your plate. What crock of s— Location: very easy to see off the main drag, but actually getting to it is a different story. You have to cut through some strip mall parking lot with no directional signs. If you know the area, it’s probably pretty easy. But if you know the area, you probably aren’t staying at a hotel here. The hotel itself is clean and looked pretty new. But that wasn’t enough to save it. Some interior decorator thought it would be cool to turn the colors up to eleven. Never seen so many bright and funky colors in a mainstream hotel before. I thought about pulling a corey hart, but I’m not cool enough. Maybe the designer was colorblind and this looked normal to them? Sorry courtyard, you only get one chance to make a first impression, and you blew it. big time

Lovely New Hotel ~ Great Night’s Sleep ~ In Middle of Everything We stayed at the Courtyard in Johnson City for one night on a road trip, not expecting much, but found an excellent hotel and had a very comfortable night’s stay. First, this is a new hotel in what looks like a new(and still being built) shopping center development. There are some big empty plots between existing shops and restaurants and the hotel, which seems a little odd but will probably be seemless when it’s all finished. But walking into the hotel, you don’t feel like you’ve just walking in from a suburban shopping center. The lobby is sharp and stylish, with a small café is off to the side. The business center is bright and well supplied with computers and printers. The hallway design is exhuberant and comfortable. There is a decent amount of public space on the main level to accomodate breakfast or a business meeting. Our guest room was warm and inviting, very sharp. The kids fell into bed right away with a sigh. Those beds were incredibly comfortable! There was a large mini-fridge and full coffee set-up in the room. There were also plenty of plugs in the room for all our cell phones! We had hoped to come in an crash to a movie OnDemand, but there was no pay-for-movie service at this hotel. The bathroom was spotless. We could have used a lot more couter space in the bathroom, but the bathtub was a nice little escape, and the rounted curtain rod made the shower feel huge. The bathroom fan hardly made a sound when you turned on the light. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we moved in and out of the hotel with ease, being welcomed back and told goodbye every time. We had an extremely comfortable night at the Courtyard by Marriott in Johnson City, and I would definitely stay here again. Very nice limited service hotel with lots of ammenitites and conveniences.
