This restaurant is pretty good. The chicken is fatty no matter what type you get. The fried rice is excellent. The shrimp is usually good too.

Somewhat disappointed with our lunch. I ordered the kung pow chicken. The overall taste of the sauce was good. The vegetables were on the soggy side seemingly like the celery was past its prime. There was almost no chicken to speak of. After picking all the chicken out I think there was barely a total of one ounce. My partners moo shu pork was much the same way. If you are meat eater like us, save your money and go next door to Simms Pizzaria for lunch and order the buffalo chicken salad.

Happy Wok is your average Chinese take-out place. The food is nothing to write home about, but it is really cheap — especially the dinner combinations. I recommend the Empress Chicken, as it is lightly breaded and in a unique sauce that I have not seen anyone else use in the area. Just a heads up: if you like spicy, avoid this restaurant. The General Tso chicken is very un-spicy, and if you ask them to make it spicier they just use more of their sauce… which is almost the same as orange chicken. Everything else on their menu is good and you won’t be disappointed for the price. N R is right about one thing, Sammy G’s review is clearly not for this restaurant(you can tell instantly by the picture). Unilocal is pretty useless in the Tri Cities because they do not remove business that have been closed for 3+ years even after they are reported closed, and they let obviously wrong reviews get posted to the wrong restaurant.

I’ve been to Happy Wok on numerous occasions and I’ve always been satisfied. They some of the best hot and sour soup and General Tso’s I’ve found in the area. The best deal is by far the lunch specials, but if you miss those, the dinner portions are gigantic(easily feeds 2) which offsets the higher prices.

Previous reviewer put review for wrong restaurant. Happy Wok is not Stir Fry. Happy Wok is a small restaurant in the Food City shopping center in Boones Creek. It is TERRIBLE. Terrible may be an understatement. And avoid the buffet at all costs, please… dried out, gross…*shudder* yuck.

I’m confused on where this is because when we went there we thought it was supposed to be Stir Fry Café and it was this place. Anyways, I think it’s brand new and it’s a wonderful place to eat. The service was GREAT. The server and the host were extremely friendly and I couldn’t believe how many times she made sure we were doing okay and refilled our drinks right when we needed them. It could have been because it was getting late and not as many people were there, but oh well I was happy. The food was delicious. Lettuce wrap — yummy! Tofu and it doesn’t even seem like it, it was so tasty. They bring out a free wonton appetizer and different dipping sauce and you can mix them together too. I got the sweet and sour shrimp, very good, the rice was a little dry but it still tasted pretty good. My boyfriend got a spicy tofu dish, I can’t remember what it was but I know he enjoyed it and it was pretty spicy for him. But we both enjoyed it very much. Mango tea — MMM. Bits of mango in it, but not too sweet, more like an unsweetened iced tea with a touch of mango. I’m not usually a fan of unsweetened iced tea but this was good! TRYIT!
