This restaurant had excellent service and food. The drinks were good, good margaritas. The New York strip was sprinkled with a combination of herbs and spices that made it one outstanding taste sensation.

They offer online reservations, but I don’t think you need it. It was pretty dead when I came in. I was craving for some prime rib so I came here. It was decent, nothing like Lawry’s quality but for the Joliet area, it was sufficient. Drinks were pretty good. 2 of their special cocktails was enough to get me a good buzz, and they were pretty good too. I would come back just for the drinks. Skip the jumbo shrimp. Definitely not jumbo, and there were no presentation skills whatsoever. I’ll try their regular steaks next time. I liked their décor though. Random life size pictures of some really old actors were pretty neat.

I got sicker than a dog about 3 hours after I ate here. I had the salmon and took a few bites. It tasted funny. I told my husband and he wanted me to send it back, but I thought, eh, I’m not that hungry and I don’t really want anything else. So then I tried the mashed potatoes. Blah. No flavor. Had a few lumps in them. So I gave up. He loved his ribeye and baked potato. I gave it two stars for his meal, and my cheesecake was good. It’s very overpriced for the quality. Our server asked, You didn’t like your salmon? I said, No, not really, it was really overcooked and it just didn’t taste right. She said, Oh, that’s too bad. It’s usually really good. Never offered to remove it from the check or anything. I thought that was sort of lame.

I went here for the 1st time this past Friday night with my boyfriend, we had reservations for 9pm, but got sat 20 minutes early, which I was impressed by. It took almost 15 minutes for our server to greet us, but another server stopped by about ten minutes after being seated to tell us our server was busy with another guest who was apparently waiting on a gambling table and in a hurry, which I was not impressed by, but she offered to get us a drink to start, redeeming the restaurant. When our server arrived, she was very pleasant and apologized for our wait, which I accepted, as I am a server myself, so I understood. We ordered right away, as we had plenty of time to look over the menu. I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin along with a Caesar salad and the Jumbo asparagus. My boyfriend ordered the 8 ounce sirloin, adding the garlic shrimp, along with the crab corn chowder and a baked potato. Promptly after we ordered, somebody brought us back fresh, warm baked bread with butter. It was a delicious start. As we were enjoying the bread, our server was very attentive in keeping our drinks filled, and she was still very pleasant. Our food arrived not long after we ordered, and the presentation was excellent. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and were so tender and delicious, along with everything else. This was a very expensive treat for us, as we cannot afford to do this very often, but when we have the money, in the future we will definitely be back. I left our server a tip of over 20%, as she deserved it. Thank you for the excellent meal and service.

I think this rivals downtown Chicago steakhouses it’s really that good. Yes I’m sure it’s not gonna be exactly like them but my wife and I steak were perfectly cooked and very tasty. If I had to say a negative I would say nothing it was really good. I feel that this place is very underrated.

Came out here for a fun night out and started with dinner here. We were seated at a table right away. Stacy was our server and she was really nice and offered great suggestions. The portions for the salads were shareable. We had Ceasar salads and a wedge salad to start. The prices for the food you get are amazing! A lemon drop martini was $ 6 other places charge $ 10 – 12! The steaks were cooked to perfection and priced right $ 30NY strip steak. We had perfectly cooked asparagus, shoestring fries, and mashed potatoes. All were amazing! We will definitely be going back.

I have eaten here in the past and had a great experience but last night we were in for Mother’s Day and it just didn’t live up to my expectations. I did the pre-fixe menu and ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, the Cesar salad, the filet, mashed potato’s and the pot de crème for the dessert. It was $ 42 for the whole thing which is reasonably priced but I was very disappointed with the food. My coconut shrimp never came. The Cesar was ok, nothing special. The filet was decent and cooked properly and the Béarnaise sauce was very good, but I’ve had better steaks. I originally wanted the Brussels Sprouts but the waitress said they had been coming out undercooked so I went with the potatoes and that was a mistake. SOBLAND! No flavor at all and there was no salt or pepper on the table to fix it. We had also ordered the bruschetta which was pretty good and the shrimp cocktail which was NOT worth the high price tag. The cocktail sauce was boring and it was just 5 shrimp laid on a plate, no presentation. My dessert was decent. I will also say that while our server Karen was very nice and friendly, she made quite a few mistakes and was confused by a lot. She kept forgetting things, mixing up the orders, etc. She brought out butter and sour cream and said she didn’t know which was which. My father is never one to complain in a restaurant, but my mother and I both agreed this was not the best experience.

Love coming here, good wine deals if you know what your looking for, food is the bomb. Love this place! Service is great! Eaten here at least 5 times. One of the top restaurants in Joliet without a doubt.

First trip to Hollywood Casino Final Cut. Made reservation, anniversary dinner for Sunday evening. Not necessary, hardly anyone there. Both wife & I dined on Chef Pix Special. She had salmon, I had filet. She had salad, I had soup. Onion soup was good and a generous bowl not a cup was served but it wasn’t a show stopper. Croutons never did become even a little bit soft. Had to use knife to cut them into edible sized pieces. Salad had raisin bread croutons. Different but not bad. Again a generous portion. Salmon served with Apple slaw was interesting touch. Filet was nice sized, cooked correctly but could have been served au-jus. Both baked potatoes were the size of a Buick. I requested butter and did not have to ask for additional as is usually the case. Dessert was cheesecake, again an ample portion & carrot cake, six layers. Both were packaged for later in the evening. All in all a four star dining experience. Not quite five stars but close and for the chefs special pricing a decent value for upscale dining.

Quality place, I had a good server named Amanda. My Gewürztraminer was flat and she replaced with the Riesling. They provide a nice bread plate and service is family style with large sides. The ribeye was excellent and almost the best I’ve ever had – and that’s saying a lot! On par with Shula’s and better than Hugo Frog which is better than any Outback, Iron Hill, or Texas Roadhouse. Fine dining ambiance with a famous film costume museum décor. Good wine selection and conveniently located in the Hollywood Casino if you want to gamble. Only down side is the p-p-p-price – ouch! $ 65 for just me to get wine, 14oz steak, salad and tip.

good special occasion place that seems like it doesn’t get much business. we had the pork chop special and the prime rib. prime rib was excellent and reasonably priced. it was significantly better than wildfire’s prime rib and it was cheaper. well priced wines with big pours. it was completely empty when we went on a Saturday night at 7 pm. it shouldnt be.

What can I say! Ok so it was my Honeys 35th birthday. He wanted steak. So he said kill 2 birds one stone have a steak and play a little at the casino. Walked in to Final Cut first thing an actual real life Piano Man playing next to the bar! Awesome and a first for us. Next the table,(seats)a little uncomfortable but hey I’m not fancy so what do I know. We started off with martini’s, I had the Pink Panther, honey had Cosmo. Both Delicious. Next we ordered the Beef Crostini! Really really tender, the sauce was so creamy and the bread didnt get soggy! An absolute must order! Do it you won’t regret it! Next I had the Champagne Dream(drink) again delicious honey had the Acapulco, it was so so. Next came our dinner!!(and 2 more drinks!) he had the dry rubbed aged Tomahawk Rib eye, he loved it! I had the Prime Rib, needless to say none was left! For our dinner drinks I had the French Connection Martini and honey had The Sparrow both were good! After dinner and drinks we decided on dessert. I chose the cheesecake trio, he chose cheese?! Any whoo our Waitress have him a sampler with all of their cheeses! Free! So sweet of her! The Chef did come and say hello, neat! Everything here is good! Really really good! I will definitely be back!!! This place is expensive. We are a Texas Roadhouse kinda couple and this was a fun neat experience. Our total was around $ 200! Pretty expensive for a meal but hey you only turn 35 once!!! I hope this review is helpful!

I love this place! I made reservations to go for our anniversary which also falls on Valentine’s Day. The ambiance, food and service, prices and amount of food are awesome. The ONLY reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations. GO! You won’t be disappointed.

Nice wine selection. Service was great from the hostess, server, to the manager. Even the chef came to the table to see how the meal was. Chowder and veggie soup were very tasty. Each soup was large enough for two people. Filet mignon and salmon were good. Sides were definitely large enough to share with 3 – 4 people.

This is the steakhouse inside the Hollywood Casino in Joliet. We were greeted promptly by a very friendly hostess, who seated us, and showed us some of the Hollywood memorabilia they have on display, gave us menus, specials, and a wine list. There was a pleasant live piano played somewhere near us, and we sat in a high back booth which offered a comforting level of privacy. We were quickly given water, and a basket of various breads and butter. Soon, our very personable waitress took our wine order(a very good Napa Cabernet, Castle Rock 2010,) and then returned and filled our glasses. Meals are ala carte; no salad or side with entrée, but our waitress was quick to explain that appetizers, salads, sides, and desserts were large, and the kitchen would split them. We started with the wedge salad: romaine, with ranch dressing, bleu cheese, onion, cucumber, tomato, and bacon. Plenty for two, and tasty. Next was the entrée of 12oz prime rib medium rare for me, and 8oz filet mignon medium for my wife. Both steaks were butter soft, cooked as ordered, and simply wonderful on their own. I had a side of the house steak sauce, which was unexpected and wonderful: zesty and sweet, with spices that complemented the beef perfectly. I was as sad at the end of my steak as much for the sauce as the beef. My wife had the bearnase sauce, and said it was quite good. We split a side of fingerling potatoes with caramelized cipollini onions; delicious. As we waited for our entrees, our waitress surprised us with a sample plate of quinoa, with pumpkin seed, cucumber, and tomato, dressed with a balsamic vinegarette. Hopefully, this tasty side will be a new entry on the menu. The chef came out of the kitchen to inquire as to the quality of our food about halfway into our entrée. Nice. We declined a tempting menu of desserts, and enjoyed the remainder of our wine in substitute. The staff was friendly and attentive. Before we left, we browsed the memorabilia, as we had been invited to: dresses and outfits worn by Liz Taylor, Sean Connery, Marilyn Monroe(in the private dining room,) Brooke Shields, James Dean, Kevin Costner, Johnny Cash, and Blues Brothers suits and sunglasses worn by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The private dining area will seat up to 20. In all, everything I like in a higher end dining experience: great staff, food, and atmosphere. Well done!

We tried this on a lark. We tried to get reservations, but couldn’t get to a human through the reservation system, so we tried a walk in, and got seated. This was a special deal — $ 50 per person, for a 3 course meal. They had a special promotion going for the Hollywood Casino’s 20th anniversary(even though you would have had to count the years it was the Empress before to get near 20, but anyway). The salads were good, but a little small for the venue. The 8 ounce filet was properly cooked, and very tender. The sides served with it included a nice mix of vegetables, mashed potatoes and some broiled peppers. The steak needed salt and pepper, but was pretty good. the deserts were a let-down. My wife ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake, and had to dig through pretty much the whole thing to find any«lava» — just enough to say there was some. I tried the carrot cake, and got a small slice of a 7 layer cake. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better. The wine was pretty good, and priced well. The service was fairly good, but I’m used to the wait staff at least giving me a chance to check the cork — it vanished. I was lucky I got to try the wine.

My coworker and I were recommended this place by some other coworkers while we were in the area on a business trip. They referred to it as the Empress Restaurant, which was possibly the name before the Empress Casino burned down and was rebuilt as the Hollywood Casino. This restaurant is located within the primary building that houses the casino.(Turn off of route 6 when you see the Hollywood Casino sign. Unilocal is currently showing an incorrect map marker but I’ve put in a correction request.) Parking is available in the lot in front, or a huge garage next door. We went without reservations on a Thursday night, and were immediately seated. The restaurant seems pretty formal when you walk in and features a lot of «old Hollywood» décor. Maybe it’s because I live in DC and I’m used to seeing higher prices, but I was surprised to see(what I considered) the very reasonable prices on the menu. We ran a bill of about $ 100 which included soup/salad as an appetizer, entrees, dessert, and drinks. Soups and salads were about $ 7 and portions were very generous. Entrees started in the high teens. Steaks were in the $ 20 – 35 range. Desserts ran another $ 7, and could be paired with a number of spirits. We were even given a stuffed date before beginning our meal, compliments of the chef. I can’t remember exactly what was in it(somekind of cheese and somekind of nut), but it was really good! I had the Sausage and Orzo Soup, and asked them to make their pasta of the day(a duck pappardelle pasta) in a dinner portion. Both are highly recommended. Coworker was pleased with his caesar salad, a prime rib with mashed potatoes, an a pecan tart for dessert. Service was quick and amazing. We had a main server, but there were at least 2 other restaurant employees who were always making sure our drinks were filled and our table was cleared of used plates. Everyone was very nice and really did their part in making us feel welcome. Will definitely be back here when I’m back in town!
