I think 3 ½ stars is just about right. The pricing is the strongest point. I got the French toast, bacon and hash browns with onions. It was well prepared and served quickly. My waitress was friendly and attentive. Another point is the lack of quality non-chain breakfast places in the area. They have a good location too. One negative is parking. Luckily, I went when the restaurant was slow. The atmosphere was nil, but warmer than, say, a waffle house. Overall, for the price, it meets my expectation, weak coffee and all.

Pretty shocked this place averages 3.5 stars… No bleeping way is this above average… We’re local Jonesborough residents and really want to like this place as I HATE chains and this establishment is in walking distance… but this place is just a miss… Now we didn’t try the pancakes which I hear are pretty great, but let’s face it, pancakes are easy. If a breakfast shop/diner can’t offer a lemon for your tea(hot or cold) and instead offers lemon packets… and doesn’t have real butter. and can’t nail«over-easy»… and the hash browns can also double as an oral enema(yes, I said that)… and the coffee is so weak you can see daylight through a full pot of coffee… then you are below average(if 3 stars is average, Unilocalers). As a guy who hates chains and will never support them unless there is no passable local alternative… we now just run the 4 miles up the street to Cracker Barrel. There are some positives: their prices are very reasonable and the staff is very pleasant… but those are the positives… They can and should do better…

Just called in here for coffee, ended up ordering blueberry pancakes and blackberry roll ups. Why am I scoring it so highly? Because apart from the quaintness and friendly atmosphere, the UK where I am from can’t do pancakes if their lives depended on it, so this place completely hit the spot. I’ve travelled extensively through the U.S. and these are pretty good for pancakes. Crispy and light. Clean plates and a happy face!

There is absolutely no reason to ever go back to this place, hence the reason we haven’t and we live just minutes from the place. The food is decent and the portions are fair, the overall«feel» of the place throws me off the most though. From what I recall, our Waitress was nice enough and engaged in some conversation since at the time the place was slow. I would rather just stay at home and fix a much better Breakfast myself then dine here and spend money on food that I know that all of us in the house could cook better.

DH and I ate at this little breakfast place on our day trip into Jonesborough. I can see why the parking might be very difficult, but on the day we were there, it wasn’t busy. It is a small, cozy little place, and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. DH ordered a larger breakfast(not sure of the name) that included pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. I tasted most of it, and was impressed with the flavor and quality. I was especially impressed with the gravy, and I don’t usually even like it! I ordered pumpkin spice pancakes, which the menu says they make all year, not just as a seasonal offering. YUM!!! I was a little disappointed in the scant amount of whipped cream on top, but they had a fantastic texture and flavor. Overall, I would definitely visit this place again if we are in the area. NOTE: I believe they are open only until 2, so plan accordingly.

First few trips here were kinda shaky. This was right after they opened though and I believe in giving new places a couple chances, especially non-chain ones.. A friend insisted on coming back and the food was great. So I’m insisting Wifey comes back today. Trying butterscotch pancakes, sausage, B&Gs. Quaint, converted small country house in a quaint little town. Or, Towne. Andy Griffith and John Wayne décor. I Love Lucy curtains. Seriously. Service has always been great. I love being fussed over by southern women. They are youngish here today so don’t recognize right away that I’m «Honey» and Wifey is «Dear.» Give’em a few years. Prices are better than Cracker Barrel by far and the food is much better. Now i love a good diner, but OTPH isn’t quite greasy enough to qualify. But I bet if you come on race week we could push it toward dive status together. My only complaint is that there hasn’t a bottle of Tabasco on every table. Petty, I know but I can’t just gush about these butterscotch pancakes and wrap it up. There is a small patio with an umbrella table. It would be perfect to sip bloody Mary’s and watch the storytelling or Farmers Market crowd walk by.
