I am pretty damn sparing with my one star reviews. I’m pretty merciful, after all, anyone can have a bad day. This Subway occasionally has a good day. We have had so many negative experiences here, I can’t believe they are even still in business, much less with 3 stars! Twice we’ve gone in and they had no bread. How do you make a sandwich with no bread? Three times we’ve gone in and had crappy service. On more than on occasion they were out of other things like tomatoes, bell peppers or whatever. I’m going to tell you what, if I was the owner of a business, or even the manager, and I ran out of something as crucial as tomatoes, I’d hop my ass in the car and drive three miles down the road to buy some damn tomatoes! This isn’t college level business admin, just common sense. Again, it amazes me that this place even turns a profit as bad as it is. The only thing I can think of is that the tourists keep it afloat.

We took a different route to Marble Falls from Austin New Year’s Day and decided to try the Subway just past Jonestown on 1431. I hadn’t eaten at a Subway in probably fifteen years. We had great service, great food and a great view of the lake. This is a small Subway with a fireplace, a covered deck and a great lake view. This was my best Subway experience by a very large margin. The only negative is that we’ll probably have to take the«long way» to Marble Falls from now on. I also wish they had larger tables.

Good food, great views of the lake, probably my favorite Subway just because of the beautiful views that their outdoor patio offers. Friendly staff too

What a joke this place is, when it comes to customer service! Several weeks ago, I went in to buy five sandwiches for a houseful of company. The person working was by themselves and when I walked in the door, was sitting at a table in the dining room, reading a newspaper. Okay. So, he waddles behind the counter and looks like he is about to pass out from boredom. I start telling him what I want and he’s all confused acting, exasperated, etc. I point-blank ask him if he’d rather I go somewhere else, which for a second has an impact. «Oh, no! I’m fine. I’m just tired.» Okay. Great. Well, get busy. Ugh. Tonight, against my better judgment, I go back. I walk in and am behind two men ordering four sandwiches. The guy working tonight is different from the first one, but the same attitude. For some reason, he can’t hear both of these guys say that two of the sandwiches are Club sandwiches. He keeps saying«cold cut,» and the guys are correcting him. He finally gets that going, and then when another customer walks out of the restroom and gets behind me in line, the worker looks over at her and says, «I’ve go no bread. It’ll be 10 – 15 minutes before it’s ready.» She says, «Oh, okay, no. I’m not waiting.» So he looks at me. I say, «You’ve got no bread of any kind?» He says, «No, it’ll be 10 – 15 minutes before any of it’s ready.» OMG! This is Subway, right? A sandwich shop? Bread is important, right? Wow. The owner of this shop needs to seriously take a look at what’s going on here in their absence.

I’m not writing your review, based on the quality of your sandwiches, the nutritional values you advertise, or the selection of breads your offer. No, there are many lesser known sandwich shops that actually offer better taste and value. I’m writing about this location, location, location. The store is nestled in a cluster of other businesses, under some oak trees, in The Village at Northlake. It sits on the north side of 1431, on a slight hill, and has a most remarkable view. Of other Subways I’ve seen, its rivaled only by one in Lake Tahoe and Big Bear, Ca. After getting your food, ease over to the windows and take your seat. Looking out across 1431, and down some 300 feet, you will be treated to a gorgeous view. A finger cove of Lake Travis, dotted with houses and marinas along its shore. It sure dresses up the taste of your sandwich and helps you to ignore the putrid yellow paint on the walls inside. Yes, its close by home, descent food that I would normally get to go, but somehow, never do, I enjoy the view.
