Jimmy’s Egg

This place is much like a IHOP or Village Inn. Except poorly managed. We came in with only one table occupied. The waitresses were not concerned with the growing number of tables and were mostly chatting and looking busy, but not really accomplishing anything. I could see our food waiting in the heat window, however our waitress took every table’s order in her section before checking in on our food. There was no expediter so the food sat and the other wait staff passed over the food. As if I wasn’t annoyed enough with this, they took our food out of the window to make room for more food. When we finally got our food, the toast was horribly burnt, the pancakes were not even cooked, and the food was cold. I asked to get another order of pancakes and got a single pancake. I repeated that I wanted a whole order of «cooked» pancakes.
After some time I asked to see the manager and was told there wasn’t one available. I received my pancakes 15 minutes later when everyone else abandoned their food. I politely paid, but this would be the first time I felt that a full refund or at least a discount should have been in order.

Food was excellent. Unfortunately, I have tried several times to join their «Club» unsuccessfully. The manager offered something when I asked for help & that was nice but I would rather of been given direction or assistance with joining the frequent customer club.

The hostess at the front, man, has been rude two of the times we have been here. The food is great, quick coming out and waitress is always friendly and keeps your coffee full. Omelette are to die for. Love this place for a quick on the go breakfast

IHOP what? Jimmy’s does some great breakfast. The dinning room is clean, the staff are polite and well presented, the service is a little bumpy, but it’s new and pretty busy. The menu has all your typical breakfast options, and a bunch of grilled sandwiches that I need to try on my next visit.
If your wanting to get your egg sweats on, go for the «Big Jim» omelette, with 5 eggs, and your selection of 10 ingredients, and 2 sides, this is the hungry mans breakfast. This is the place to go for a good breakfast in Joplin.

First off, I didn’t know it was a proper «sit down» restaurant so I went in planning on getting food to-​go. I was met with a smile and directed to the bar for my carry-​out order. They were busy but not overly busy. My waitress was polite and very helpful although a little short on attention. Ordered the eggs Benedict, Jimmy’s Breakfast Sandwich, a cinnamon roll, and a couple of drinks. From the bar I could see into the kitchen and the prep/​check area just outside the kitchen and I must say, it was nice to see that they had a person whose job appeared to be dedicated to double-​checking orders and finalizing plates. Paid my bill and received my order. The waitress even offered to help carry thing to my car. I obliged. The restaurant and parking lot were both clean and well kept. The food was good, hot, and as ordered. A little on the greasy side but considering the items and the fact that it’s specialty is eggs, it could be overlooked. My only negative comment would be that as I was pulling in, I drove around the building and saw a few of the staff out back smoking and loitering. As I left I saw the same thing again. Not that they don’t deserve breaks but I thought there should be a little more discretion about doing so in sight of the customers. Overall a first first time experience and will more than likely go back.

I’ve eaten breakfast here twice so far. Both times I’ve tried different omelets. I love their omelets because all the ingredients are mixed in together, not just folded over eggs. The omelets are large and packed with ingredients. You also get two sides which can include biscuts and gravy and pancakes amoung a variety of other options. Overall the service was excellent, the place was clean and inviting and the food was a great value. Great choice for breakfast.

As exciting as it is to have a new breakfast place in town, we waited a few weeks before stepping in. Now, we wish we’d gone sooner. Went on a Sunday morning. Lot was packed, folks were standing outside, not a good sign if you’re in a hurry. No worries, mate. While we literally started our wait just inside the entrance, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server Becky was very attentive, interactive, unstressed and kind. We tried the ultimate pancake combo to get a taste of different breakfast items. Best pancakes I’ve had in years and maybe the best bacon ever! The coffee was perfect, and they offer flavored creamers. Take notice, those of you who provide the powdered stuff. Cheap is just that. Cheap.
It’s not all breakfast, either. We cannot wait to go back to try lunch. And, the manager came to our table, squatted down and had a great visit with us. Good luck, Jimmy’s Egg! Welcome to Joplin!
