Old Chicago

My first time going to Old Chicago was a mess. After my pizza taking an hour and being out of the appetizers I wanted, I spoke with a manager. He encouraged me to give them another chance and I’m so glad I did. Our server, Allie, was very pleasant. She was polite and even joked about my selection of a Bud Light after scoping out the menu for several minutes. Ive never had a server take the time to really ask about what I liked and tailor my experience to that. She brought a sample of a new beer and I actually enjoyed it. My wife even ordered a beer she suggested, and she’s a wine only kind of gal. I will be returning and asking for her as she made my visit enjoyable.

This place has amazing food and the atmosphere is pretty dope. I had the Ruben and the Caprese tomato and mozzarella salad. Perfect portion. The service is a 5 star thanks to Stephanie, Ashley, Emily, and Chelsea. Such beautiful people to look at!

When mistakes happen you can apologize or discount. $ 25 pizza in a to go box after an hour waiting since appetizer, with no apology is not cool.

Food they brought out was delicious (what little we received), but after and hour and 15 of waiting, found out our ticket was lost and not coming. They then made the order in 5 minutes and gave it to us in a to go box charged out at full price. Manager lady was in charge of the entire thing no apologies, just «Bye».
Will try again someday, but no apology is not cool.

This review is based only on having a few drinks at the bar. Old Chicago has a good selection of craft beers, including a few from regional breweries. I had an excellent Boulevard farmhouse ale. Two in our party had mixed drinks. They said the pours were good and the tonic water fresh.
The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The bar is comfortable, busy and noisy in a good way and but quiet enough that we could talk comfortably. After a long day of driving, Old Chicago fit the bill for a couple of drinks in a warm, friendly bar.

I have been to this resturant for lunch several times since it is very close to my office. So far the food has been excellent. However, I am a huge fan of diet Dr. Pepper, and this place served it. Today I went in for lunch and they replaced it with a flavored tea! I’m very disappointed. I asked the management to bring it back… Let’s see if they listen.

It is what it is; a chain sports bar. The wings were decent, and the beer selection good but price is on the high side. Service was above average for this kind of place. We had a good time.

Staff friendly food mediocre at best and over priced. Will not be returning. Took 30 minutes to get 2 sandwiches. Turkey club i could make at home. Steak sandwich was okay but small for ten dollars.

My first time Old Chicago. They have the best beer selection in town. Some my favorite apps are pizza rolls, nachos & wings… The wings were jumbo wings. They also have a lot of TVs as well which perfect to watch wide selection of sports. Obviously the BEST pizza in town. They were pretty busy but good service.

Not bad pizza. I have eaten at several Old Chicago restaurants across the mid-​west. The Chicago style is good. I wish they would place more sauce on the pizza. On Sunday lunch it was very crowded, but we received our pizza very quickly. Parking lot is a mess when crowded. Price not too bad.

Let’s be real here.
You get rewarded for drinking beer. You get rewarded for spending money.
Old Chicago has the BEST guest loyalty program of any national restaurant. Let’s not forget that there are 110 beers and the pizza is FANTASTIC. The chicago style cornmeal crust is so buttery and crisp. My favorite is the meat me.
After years of not having Old Chicago since I moved from Springfield, I was so excited to try it again. I didnt realize how much I had missed it until I took my first bite. They have added some really great menu items since my last visit too: Beer sausage and onion rolls, fried cheese curds, ale thin crust, Reuben sandwich, all of which I have enjoyed immensely.
The specials are fantastic too! I work in the restaurant industry, and late night bites in Joplin are hard to come by. But OC has an awesome late night happy hour that includes a $ 2 mini pizza! Its probably 7−9″, so it’s not super mini, and for only 2 bucks?!
The remodel on the building is unbelievable. I can’t wait for the rooftop bar to open and spring to get here to experience some great outdoor dining. All in all, OC Joplin is now my go to place. I am so excited it’s here, and I can’t wait for the mini tours to start getting some new free t shirts for my closet!

If at all possible find somewhere else to go.
It does have a great selection of beer. Having said that, it took over a half an hour to get it. We also ordered a mixed drink (bloody mary) & it was TERRIBLE. Reordered it thinking it was a fluke. Nope, the next one was unfortunately worse. We tried to order several different appetizers but they were out of Buffalo sauce, fried pickles and bacon. How does that even happen?!

Had a terrible experience. I have opened a restaurant before and worked in the food and hospitality industry so I am not one to complain. Took thirty minutes to get our drinks, another hour and a half to get our food which came out completely wrong. We were nice and told our serve it was very messed up. Took another 30 minutes for them to fix it. It was still wrong. They had just picked off the stuff we didn’t want on our pizza and sent it out again. (Still wrong) We didn’t want to wait any longer so we just stayed quiet and ate it. Mentioned something to our server when we got our bill, she got very defensive and made excuses. Not a single manger stopped by to apologize or try and make it right. Our visit took 3 hours. Way too long. Everyone around us was furious too. I get its a new restaurant but you will not be getting returning guests like that.

I absolutely love this place already! The beer selection is one of the best in town and the food is to die for!
