Went here for dinner in the off-season, restaurant was very empty. Keep in mind you’re i n a place in the mountains, nearly 100 miles from areas with cell service. The quality of food here is quite good for that scenario. Our waiter was cool, his name was Sergio, nice guy. The steak was really not bad, wine list shockingly interesting for this area. Ambiance was great. Breakfast not as good as dinner but we likely chose wrong. The sausage patties at breakfast were very good though. We really liked the spot and had a good time here and also at the hotel and spa. Would love to come back again!

Beautiful restaurant with amazing views on the mountains, huge windows and nice wood furniture. We stayed at the resort and ate at the restaurant twice. We were waited by Sergio on the first night who was a super nice guy. There were lots of wine choices including some of my favorites from France(Chablis, Pouilly-Fuissé) and a great one from New Zealand. I ordered the blackened salmon(8 oz– quite a big piece) with a side of asparagus(sprinkled with cheese — wish I had known) and mashed potatoes(average). My husband had the steak with a baked potato. We shared wine and the cherry cheesecake. You can probably get better in terms of food quality but let’s remember we are in a pretty isolated place and it’s a really nice place to have dinner at! Can’t beat the view. The next morning we returned for breakfast. We had basic oatmeal, served with a tiny pitcher of milk, packaged raisins, brown sugar and butter. They do not have almond milk btw. Pretty bland but they also have many other options, the breakfast menu is long… Eggs, sausages, fresh fruit bowl, burritos etc. We paid $ 24 for two which I find quite expensive for an ok breakfast but again nothing beats the location! To summarize: 5* — location, view and décor of restaurant 4* — staff 3* — food Would return!

Brought six here before skiing, the night after a major snowstorm, because the power was out everywhere in June Lake. Best family breakfast I can remember. And I am not given to superlatives.

Dinner service was poor and food was meh. A few examples of things that could be fixed if anyone gave a crap. Brought my white wine in a small carafe and did not bring a wine glass. I asked for a glass and server brought a red wine glass. Did not asked how steak should be cooked. Had to ask for steak knife. Both entrees were drenched in buttery sauces yet bland. Slow service and place was half full. Spendy for Sysco-grade food. We’re staying at the Double Eagle Resort but will not return to this restaurant that is right at our doorstep.

Had lunch at this place yesterday. The view is beautiful. The food is horrible. Fish Tacos are served raw. The chicken Parmesan sandwich has got to be days old and just reheated. Crab cakes are miniature.

Be prepared to wait and then wait some more. Last night we spent 2 hours and 40 minutes sitting at our table and we didn’t even have appetizers or dessert. Factoring in the drive time from June Lake(the restaurant is not in town), we spent about 3 ½ hours on this place. A complete time dump. The food is OK, not extraordinary. Prices are not cheap. Beautiful dining room. We would not return. It was not worth the time and money.

A bit of a contradicion in service. Arrived late to the lodge Sunday night and in time for last restaurant seating. They were very accommodating and we were not rushed though did have to make all our drink orders by nine which was okay. However, next night we had friends meet us, and main bartender leaving at 730, on a Monday night football. We had to stack our drinks. Menu seems the same for last many years, though they dumped their steak sandwich, which I loved. Menu could use an overhaul.

My husbands Christmas Party was at the Double Eagle. They put us in an Attic room or a closet above the gym. Appetizers didn’t come out until 7:00 p.m. dinner was haphazarly. No spoon for the bleu cheese crumbles or for the veges. Probably right up there with the worst dinner ever. TV in our room didn’t work and neither did the WIFI. We are locals and were looking forward to being there, but we will never go back. The room was $ 145, with the discount for the company. Waste of money

Went here Wednesday night after spending the afternoon at the spa. Food was delicious. Vegetable quinoa serving was huge. Vegetables were cooked perfect, dish had a great flavor. Husband had the ribs, that were so tender they fell off the bone. Crab cakes and shrimp appetizer were both DELISH! Our waiter, who was also the bartender, was very attentive and an overall sweet kid! We chose to sit in the dining room, not the bar, and he did not seem put out by that at all. We only live 45 minutes from this gem. You will be seeing us a lot :)

Beautiful surroundings the woodwork throughout is impressive! Decided to eat in the bar and was very glad we did the service was excellent and the bartender was a blast! She was extremely busy and still made sure to interact with everyone while handling numerous jobs! I suggest eating in the bar you won’t be disappointed

There’s not many choices in June Lake during the winter season and I’m grateful to have located this restaurant on Unilocal. The food is pretty decent therefore we came here for breakfast and dinner. We ordered Omelettes for breakfast and it was a hearty portion with home fries and toast accompanied with a fantastic strawberry jam. Staff was attentive and kept the water and coffee coming. Portions were large which allowed us to eat half and saved the other half for lunch. Clean and rustic feel with great views to the little creek and beautiful mountains outside. For dinner we came back and sat at the bar for Sunday night football. There’s a happy hour menu from 4 – 6:30 which we took advantage of. Decent wine selections and bar staff was friendly and willing to accommodate. Definitely would recommend this place.

This establishment was recommended to me for a quiet breakfast. My first visit was relaxing. It was quiet, the waffle was delicious and the service was good and fast, even though I was told they had only one cook on that morning. He did amazing. I was impressed and brought my boyfriend for breakfast the next day. The service was bad. The waitress was unpleasant and slow and seemed annoyed when I asked for butter for my waffle. We waited for quite a while for our check. The food was still good. So overall first visit was a 4.5 star, but second was more like 1.5 to 2 star. I guess the wait staff can really make a difference. The service is inconsistent but it’s was clean and quiet. Prices are high for what you get, as a waffle is 10 bucks. Get rid of that waitress and you’d get 4 stars.

Great food can make up for a lot of other problems. Too bad this place has lousy food. Greeted by, and promptly forgotten by, a young lady hostess/waitress. She had our table of two, a table of three just finishing up and another group of three right behind us. Not being able to manage two tables of five total customers with NOONEELSE in the dining room is ridiculous. Waited too long for a beer, and then didn’t even get the beer I ordered. If there is an item on the menu that is not available, the wait staff should know about it in advance. I asked if they just blew the keg, she said, «no we are just out». OK, I guess I will just drink whatever you brought me. Went the safe rout and got a burger. 15 minutes later, I received my joke of a hamburger. Dry, no flavor, no seasoning. Salad was wilted. Just bad. Waitress showed up again when I was on my last bite of burger and asked if I wanted another beer? Nope too late! Not many options up here for lunch /dinner. But I’ll sack lunch it next time. Never again.

Came here to eat because we are staying across the street for the night. Unfriendly wait staff. Asked three times for the complimentary bread. No refills on soda. No enthusiasm from anyone. Surprised the place was so busy. Extremely over-priced too, but they have a captive audience out in that gorgeous wilderness. Definitely drive by this one on our return trip. Wish I had read the reviews before I wasted my time and money here. Would have done better snacking on trail mix and string cheese back in my motel room.

Only came here for lunch. Really great setting. Nice open dining room, the outdoor surroundings are very pretty and worth checking out. We didn’t really try too much, we had the fingers for the kids and some spring rolls with a chipotle sauce. The spring rolls were deep fried and had a lot of flavor, maybe a touch heavy for my blood, but still tasty.

Couldn’t get attention to be seated(or welcomed). Apparently there was a big function going on, so the chef and manager were attending to the front. No acknowledgement of our presence. But when a regular walked in, it was all«Hi, good to see you again». At that point we left.

Wow the ambience would’ve gotten five stars yet the bartender ruined it all. First of all I ordered a Chardonnay of house wine and it was maybe 5 ounces it looked less than half of the wine glass very small wine glass. My husband couldn’t even taste the gin in the gin and tonic which she served with a lemon instead of a lime. Rookie move. We were excited to have an appetizerbecause of all the good reviews but as soon as we got our drinks we changed our minds. and the very worst part, is that when we got our bill… I must say we were very gracious and did not complain a bit… She failed to give us any happy hour discount and we were there well within the happy hour timeframe. So then we had to discuss the bill with her she blamed it on the computer which I highly doubt is true. Very disappointing!!! don’t know how she got her jobat this great place maybe nepotism

We walked in to a «please wait to be seated» sign. We stood there for about 5 minutes until someone came out to bring us to a table. Our waiter was fine. He brought us two bread rolls. They were literally hard as rocks. I could have used one as a weapon if needed. My husband and I both ordered the New York strip steak. They were both cooked how we asked. Mine was a much better steak, his was mostly fat, no meat. Vegetable sides were too greasy. Overall not what I expected for a $ 26 meal.

Stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious. The portions are extremely generous and the sandwiches are fresh and tasty. I had the turkey sandwich which came loaded with sliced turkey and a thick slice of creamy brie on a soft croissant. It was a little heavy on the cranberry aioli but I didn’t mind. The sweet potato fries were good but nothing amazing. My brother had the onion rings and I think I would order those next time over the sweet potato fries, they were delicious. Lunch-mates had the shrimp tacos(huuuuge portion) and the ahi sandwich and were equally impressed with the quality. Service was very good though we were one of only two tables so I can’t speak to service at peak times.
