GOR-geous. The lake is magnificent, the little town is quaint, the people are very friendly, the air is clean. The only bummer was not having enough time here. I can’t wait to come back!

I love Silver Lake. It is not very big but it is set in a beautiful location. The mountains and trees that surround the lake give it a quiet and visual reverence. We fished on the lake, but were not patient enough to catch anything. I will definitely be back! What did I learn today? Rent a boat from Silver Lake Resort, it is worth the $ 50 for the day.

Just amazing!!! A place that you always thought you would go when you want to relax. It’s seriously spectacular. Nature mountains lake at its best. The view it’s beautiful!!! Fishing for some trout. We would see the fish flying out of the water but stayed for an hour and didn’t catch nothing. But just amazing to be there and see such a pretty a place! Something you would see in a painting. This is for my books that I would want to visit again. Really no shade so remember to bring some bug spray you will need it.

5 stars for the setting and beauty alone. Of all the lakes on the June Lake Loop, I think Silver Lake is in the prettiest spot, nestled below the towering mountains. It seems to be a popular fishing lake(I have not fished there). It’s super fun to rent a fishing boat and cruise around the lake(you don’t have to fish to have fun — stop at the little island and have a picnic!) I love the entire area, Silver Lake is a gem! Beautiful lake…5 stars!

Hard to pick a favorite lake on the June Lake Loop, but will go with Silver as we love the Forest Service campground, which is on the lake. The views from all angles represent the beauty of the Sierras and the fishing isn’t bad either. With a restaurant, store, trailhead & even a bus to Yosemite, it really is heaven.

Have you ever been to a place where you felt like you were in a painting? This one feels like you’re in a Bob Ross painting. On our way to Mammoth Lakes during fall season of 2013, we made pits tops along the way to enjoy the many sceneries along the way. Exiting Yosemite Park and driving down the side of the mountain, I found myself marveling at the colors of the trees. They were bright yellow and looked so vibrant against the earth tone surrounding it. As we drove towards Silver Lake, there was a row of these same trees I was marveling at and it felt magical underneath the canopy of bright, vivid colors. I felt all giddy and my heart filled joy driving through that column of trees. I was amazed at the colors because this is not something I am used to. Heck, I live in Daly City, where there’s only two seasons: foggy and hot. The lake itself is not that big, but what it lacks in size more than makes up for its beauty against the backdrop of the Sierras. The water is cold and the color of a rich, dark blue that draws you in as it pierces your eyes while you gaze into her spirit. It’s peaceful It’s beautiful It’s relaxing It’s breathtaking It cleanses the soul and frees your mind of worry for that instance that you are in her cocoon of rustling leaves, fresh air, swaying trees and all kinds of hues and colors to paint her world of natural beauty. Like Bob Ross used to say, Happy Trees.

This is a cute little lake surrounded by mountains. I gave up on hiking in the middle of the day to take out a boat and relax on the water. The store across the street has some good knick knacks and refreshments and courteous staff. The lake is too small to really spend a whole day at, as it only took us 15 minutes to lap the lake in a boat. I liked that there were mini islands and places to dock the boats or canoes if you wanted to stop and chill for a while. It was very relaxing, as it wasn’t too busy, and the view is just beautiful. We had lunch on the boat and even took a nice nap while we tanned. If I was in the area and wanted a quick lake to relax at, I would come here. For camping or all day fun in the water, June Lake would be better.

Having breakfast at the Silver Lake Café - I Love, love this adorable mountainesque breakfast nook nestled the heart of the Sierra Nevada, surrounded by tall tree; seating inside has a view of Silver Lake which is just gorgeous. It’s a rather small establishment with counter seating and about 6 tables. The place is filled with fisherman, locals and travelers alike. There is an rv park right next door and a good hike that leads up the hill to additional lakes. It’s a beautiful area and definitely worth checking out if not for the food for the beautiful scenery, enjoy!

This is a great place for a family vacation. There is a campground nearby. The lake is great for fishing and boating. There are also some really good hiking opportunities nearby. Silver Lake Store is across the road from the lake which is open during the summer camping season, usually closing sometime in October. Silver Lake flows intor Rush Creek and is part of the June Lake Loop group of lakes.

Worst lake in Mammoth, June lake is the best, this place is just too small, im sure in the summer it would be way better but literally you can see from one end of the lake to the other being at one end. Maybe i got spoiled with Lake Tahoe for so many years. Still this is a nice almost too quiet spot! TFR

Just a gorgeous lake nestled in a quiet valley. Although I’ve spent many summers in Mammoth and other parts of the Eastern Sierra, this is the first place I ever saw aspen trees, and it’s still the only place in California where I’ve seen them in any significant number. Their winking leaves are beautiful.
