Time went: dinner Ambience: relaxing and rustic, votive candles in mason jars Food: amazing. I Had the bibimbap with a Side of homemade chicken spam. It was so freaking delicious that I’m coming back tomorrow for more. My boyfriend had the halibut coconut curry noodles and raved about it(I enviously drooled over it too) Definitely coming back tomorrow for either the bibimbap, curry noodles or ramen!

Coffee was good: Stumptown Roasters. Always tasty. We showed up for breakfast but were turned away since it had ended 5 minutes earlier. Disappointing there was no flexibility, but understood.

This place is really great. A very creative menu filled with wonderfully tasting food. The cheeze-it mac and cheese is a fun and delicious dish and the corn chowder is out of the world. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. At the end of a long day, this is a perfect place to have a relaxing and informal dinner.

Nice coffee spot. I really like the place and the cookies. But I’d say average coffee and service.

Mmmmmmmmmm stopped in here today for lunch during my time in Juneau. Reminded me a bit of home in Portland. Awesome little café with rad art lining the walls, friendly staff and delicious food. Had the BLT, came with avocado & was super yummy. Everyone seemed to also be ordering cookies — I think I missed out. The iced coffee drinks in mason jars also looked appealing. Maybe I’ll go back tomorrow.

When we first entered, there was a long line to order at the counter and no menu in sight. It wasn’t until we got to the front we saw two menus at the register. So that is why the line took so long, people didn’t get to see the menu until they made it to the front. We ordered our breakfast including a pastry appetizer. We asked if it could be warmed, and the response was«…um, well… I mean, we CAN, but we are really busy right now… so…» It was awkward. And so our pastry was cold. It took at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Not sure if they had to wait for the chickens to lay the eggs or what. Our food was pretty simple and unimagined. Overall impression: adequate, lots of room for improvement.

This place is bomb!!! The Ramen soup is out of this world delicious, can’t get enough! Going to go back tomorrow for lunch and order it again. Yummy yum yum! Wish we had this place back home, because I would frequent it weekly.

I stopped by this SUPER cozy and cute café the other day while on a layover for work. Hooked? you bet! Awesome Stumptown coffee, and crazy delicious baked goods: had a blueberry scone, and some strawberry type of danish. I want more, it was that delicious. Also, I am a fan of soups, and today they had a curry lentil soup which was to die for! Looking forward to another visit for the wonderful food, coffee and fantastic customer service at the Rookery. Love going here on my business trips to Juneau. It really encapsulates the character of the downtown area and has creative, homemade fare. Highly recommend: The cheeze-it mac & cheese.

Sad to say the service was very poor and this was one of our favorite places. The food was OK, but it took forever to get our entrees and then the hostess came to hurry us and asked if we wanted desert, because they had a reservation coming for our table in 10 minutes. Sorry, the food is good, but it isn’t good enough for $ 100+ bill, get your food late and be hurried out the door!

Ate at the rookery today. Been here once before and got the ramen; was not impressed in the past. The atmosphere is pretty hipster-like and rustic. We ordered the sloppy Joseph(hipster sloppy Joe), the ramen, and the diner burger. The ramen broth was pretty delicious; in the past it was way too garlicky. Definitely 4 stars on the broth. The noodles on the other hand… Terrible. They were ridiculously undercooked. The sloppy joe was a delightful twist of the classic. It wasn’t as sloppy as I’m accustomed to, but that’s fine with me. Had a thick layer of beechers cheese mixed with something else on top of the meat. The diner burger was delicious, it came with all the usual works of a burger, onions, tomatoes, and a very interesting twist an Asian pickled cucumber. It was very balanced in flavor! Meat was perfect pink in the middle. This place gives off the hole in the wall appearance, with its low budget furniture, chairs that are weak and ancient, and floor that hasn’t been upgraded in 20+years, but lacks the hole in the wall quality. I think they need to make up their mind if they’re going to be a hole in the wall or some hipster hangout joint. Definitely fix the undercooked noodle problem and this place would be slightly higher in terms of stars.

I love their coffee! I stopped in this morning for breakfast and grabbed food to go. I had a Nutella croissant and it was just what I needed before my hike. I’ll be back soon to try this place for dinner!

A hip little café with a warm, casual feel. They have a rather eclectic menu, with a pretty small but diverse selection of items. I picked up the bacon, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich. It was good, but a little underwhelming. I guess I just felt like it was missing something. The kitchen looks like a cross between a bar, a coffeehouse, and a deli counter. But it’s kinda cute and that’s kinda what it is. The dining area has a very open feel with the 20ft ceilings. Other than that, it’s about what you would expect from a café. I dunno that I would be back, it’s not really my scene. But not too many complaints from me :)

Got breakfast here, the setup was a little awkward. You walk in and… stand around… and try to figure out the setup. Turns out you order in the back, get a number, and they bring the food out. The food was very good, I got something I could not pronounce(see photos) and was impressed. In fact, all the food on the breakfast menu was unique and inventive. I wish I could have had«a little of everything». Coffee was also great and you can get free refills. They also have good WiFi. For Alaska, it’s EXCEPTIONAL WiFi! Despite having at ton of hype with locals, this place isn’t really well known by tourists. What does this mean? You can easily get some food here without insane crowds or insane wait times.

Our family had several excellent entrees for lunch, including the Dungeness crab salad and the Mediterranean 2.0 salad. Delicious! We admired the ingenuity behind the Rhubarb salad, but ultimately found it bland. The espresso was great! Good recommendation from the barista to get my next espresso con panna.

Heard good things about the Rookery and was recommended by our hotel. Made a reservation and they had our table ready when we got there. Menu has some interesting selections. Along with Alaskan seafood, they have bibimbap, ramen and hamburgers. We started with the artichoke dip which had chunks of artichoke in it. Came with tons of toasted bread was almost a full meal in itself. 2 of us ordered burgers and 1 had ramen. Burgers cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Son reports the ramen was also very good. Service was excellent. One thing we didn’t like is they were out of a lot of things. No chowder, no crab louie and no bread pudding for dessert. Guess they have supply problems in Juneau because we weren’t there too late(7:30?). Anyways, overall a very good dinner experience.

Nice little coffee joint. I hade an iced latte — made with attention to detail. Good mellow flavor. Looks like they also have a pretty debut bar and wine menu as we’ll. Also noted a pastry case. I like to frequent the local joints… Do yourself a favor hit a couple of coffee joints in Juneau… And don’t miss the Rookery!

Great choice for a birthday dinner, especially since we were able to score the window table. Started with the scallops, small plate of 4 for $ 14. Scrumptiously tender in balsamic vinegar reduction. Then the beat salad served with blue cheese and duck… Not exactly jerky, but pressed dried and VERYSALTY, along with the mOst i INtetrstingly tasty«picled?» slices if apples. Luckily my partner can never finished his steak, so I was able to nibble off his plate or I would have still been quite hungry. The steaK with yAms and green onions was amazing‼Never knew green onions could be so delectable. Mediterranean salad was very goid, and very different from last years version, which used to be very ” typical”, and good and generous. This one had lots of other yummy stuff(shallots, crispy fried onions…)but is definitely for one person. We ended the meal with a chicolate lovers dessert. Three layers and lots of fudgey frosting that was richly devine and some of the best after dinner coffee(americanos) i have EVERHADINTHISTOWN! Along with a glass of wine for me and a coke for him, dinner came to $ 94.00. Not what we will spend on a typical evening, but it was my BIRTHDAY… And you can always get their burgers if you want a yummy meal without splurging.

After a few days of subpar cruise ship food, we needed some fresh farm to table fare. Unilocal reviews led us here(very close to Wings float plane tour docks) Halibut buns, truffle fries, cherry tart cake, 2am burger, chowder, and oatmeal cranberry cookies were all delicious. Can you take over cooking for the cruise ships?
