Came for lunch today. I got fish tacos — don’t waste your time, there are better fish tacos at pretty much every other restaurant in the area. The amount of fish was laughable — a fried strip about the size of my pinky finger. There was more cabbage than fish. My friend got barbacoa taco — not bad, lots of meat, not super flavorful and kind of dry except for the meat oil that kept dripping out. My margarita was about ¾ ice and done in a few sips. Rice and beans were tasty. Service was good. I’d go back for happy hour or $ 2 taco tuesday, otherwise there are much better places to try.

If there is an extra star available, I would give it 6 of 5 rate. Excellent food — just amazing! I ordered Chipotle Carne Asada. I literally enjoyed every bite. Prior to my main meal, they had a server to come to my table and make avocado salad from scratch. The environment is great as well. I feel like I am actually somewhere in Mexico because of the decoration they added in the restaurant. Not only that, the location is perfect — close to where I am staying. Perfect location, perfect food, perfect restaurant. I strongly recommend you to go to this restaurant and check it out.

Came here for lunch today with my work team. To put it simply: this place is everything you want in a Mexican restaurant. The chips are those kind of chips that they put fancy dust on to make them extra delicious. They bring you three types of salsa, which are all amazing. The green salsa comes warm, which is strange if you’re not used to it, but was excellent. The waitress that took care of us was super nice and very friendly, and put up with all of my nonsense jokes like a champion. I had the barbacoa burrito, one of the house specialties, and it was superb. Yes, better than Chipotle. I rate this place 10⁄10 for their commitment to culinary excellence.

Best guacamole I have ever had. Service and food was great! It’s been about two months since I was there, but I would highly recommend it. I can’t wait to go back!

I went here with a large group and the waiters were awesome, but the food and drinks were just okay. I ordered a margarita and it tasted very watered down, and the salsa isn’t very good at all. Might give this place another try if I’m visiting Jupiter again in the future.

Service was great and cool atmosphere. Tacos(chorizo, pork, fish) were good as was the salsa verde(could have used a little more spice). The specialty strawberry basil margarita was fine, but I’d stick to a more traditional flavor next time. Nice place to get quick, flavorful food.

Place was good. Really nice atmosphere inside, even for lunch time. Looked like a pretty broad selection of tequilas, which is certainly a plus. Perfectly polite staff, however, my called-in order never got made, or even entered to the kitchen. It worked out okay, but I can’t quite give a 5 star for a lapse like that, especially considering they only had 3 tables and 3 people at the bar by the time I got there. The food was great though. My coworker had the beef and chicken tacos and I had a wet burrito. Chips and homemade salsa really hit the spot! We has their«runnier» salsa as opposed to the«chunky» option. I’ll definitely go again, after work sometime, as I’d love to test out the bartender’s margarita skills!

My husband took me here last night for our date night. We sat outside so I didn’t get to see much of the cool interior but the little I saw was awesome. Really funky and awesome place. The best thing(apart from the amazing food) is that they will make the guacamole for your chips right in front of you. A person will drive a little cart right up to your table and make it for you. It’s the best guacamole I have ever had. I ordered pulled chicken quesadilla which is the best I have ever had and I’ve had quite a few of them. The place feels more like an American Mexican place than a true Mexican place but that’s what makes the place unique and I love it. I will definitely come back again.

Well… I really like the atmosphere and vibe of the place. The décor is cool and fun. I really want to see this place succeed but they have some work to do. I’ve been twice now and both times the service was just ok. Staff is friendly just not attentive. Both times the beers I attempted to order were no longer available. The selection of drinks isn’t great unless you’re a tequila drinker. I get that it’s a Mexican restaurant, but not having at least a couple good craft beers, maybe a cider as well, is a bad choice. The food was ok at best. Nothing really jumped out as amazing. The guacamole is pretty pricey for a bland flavor. And if you’re going to make it table side, make a presence of it. There wasn’t anything really wrong here, just nothing really above average either. I’ll give them a couple months and then maybe try again.

As a bartender from Miami, I love to just get away from time to time, and I just so happened to end up here on a mini road trip with friends. We were all super surprised by the freshness of the ingredients in the drinks here. The pineapple Infused tequila in the margarita was delicious. Jessica helped us find the perfect food and drinks for our night. I personal also love the cool skeleton art and family vibes the staff has. I will for sure come back when I’m the area again.

Every time I make a trip to Jupiter, I HAVETO stop in at Calaveras Cantina! I’ve tried quite a few of their margaritas, but my favorite so far is the blood orange. oh my yum! As far as apps go, the brisket nachos are a must try. It’s a huge portion, and they are hard to stop eating. If you’re in the mood for fajitas, try the Tres Amigos, grilled chicken, skirt steak, chorizo, and sweet potato, all in the most delish sauce. You won’t be disappointed! Last but not least, my favorite part of any meal, the dessert! Our server, told us about the Avocado sweet nachos… avocado ice cream! So we gave it a try, and now we get it every time we go in. Our servers name was Jessica, and she was on top of everything!

Had lunch here today with a friend who suggested as we were in the mood for Mexican. The guacamole was awesome with the right bite! I had the chicken and pork enchiladas and friend had the taco– both were excellent. Overall loved the scene the location in trendy Jupiter off Indiantown close to a1a, just east of Dixie hwy over the bridge. will be back!

Love the carne asada tacos — they are worth trying! Guacamole was good but get the jalapeños on the side and add them in yourself. They do offer a kids menu

NPS = 4 Bland food. Horrible service. Sadly, as the Unilocal Star-rating system puts it: «Meh… I’ve experienced better.» This restaurant has a lot of potential. I love the décor and what they have going on with the Mexican«Day of the Dead» theme. But they really need to work on the food and service. I went with a large party, so that might have been the reason the waiters/waitresses were all over the place. But that was no excuse for having to ask several times for different things. I started off with the sangria. The sangria was tasteless and actually felt like I was sipping on rubbing alcohol. But again, maybe my fault for ordering sangria at a Mexican restaurant. I tried the margarita a friend of mine ordered. Again, the taste of alcohol was TOO much. I was trying to enjoy a cocktail, not trying to get sloshed. I would recommend sticking to beers. I ordered the burrito with barbacoa based on the suggestion of the waitress. It was okay… but not for $ 16. I can get the same burrito somewhere else for half the price and with more flair. I was not even paying for the meal and I thought the prices were unreasonable. You might not have a lot of choices around the area, but my definite recommendation is to try to find something else.

I’m sorry that I can’t share in the excitement about Calaveras — and perhaps the general excitement conveyed in other reviews comes from the fact that there aren’t many trendy restaurant options in general in this particular area. I thought the food was just okay — certainly nothing overly special, with a beef-heavy menu — but my biggest gripe was with the service. There were so many staff members running around the place that it gave Calaveras a frenetic vibe, and the fact that staff members bumped into me not once but twice was enough to turn me off to this place. If getting plates to a table promptly(perhaps to turn the tables more quickly) is more important than not jostling your guests around, then this isn’t my kind of place. Regarding the drinks, I found the red sangria to be a bit too sweet for my taste, prefer a drier one, like what’s actually made in Spain. Finally, plastic molcajetes for the guacamole? Really?

Have to agree with previous reviewers… service is frenetic and staff not well trained. There are such limited choices in this area so compared to Chilis across the street it’s definitely a step up. The table side guacamole is good and the tequila menu is very extensive. The seating inside is very cramped and awkward but the décor is very fun. Time will tell if management can pull it together.

Those of you that follow me know that I am a mexi-fan. Yeah, my humor is hit or miss. I heard that the new Cantina had opened and hurried over to try the newest fare in Jupiter. I will admit, as a life long Jupiter resident — I hate Harbor Side — but I still came with an open pallet as well as an intense hunger. The location is waterfront as far as what waterfront can be at Harbor Side. The very open space has plenty of interior and exterior water views complimented by what I consider standard in Mexican restaurants these days. The lights, though interesting have been part of the ambiance at Rocco’s Taco’s for some time. The frescoes and colors as well as the tables/booths all seem pulled from a combination of successful genre concepts. This is not a gripe as it is all done very effectively just nothing that I would consider ground breaking. I sat at the bar as I was alone and the restaurant was pretty empty for late lunch(1:30 ish) I was immediately greeted and presented a menu. Two of the stars above are for the TREMENDOUS service. I must say it was one of the best experiences I have had at any establishment. Not only was she confident in her food knowledge, she was engaging and helpful. I asked her for what was best on the menu and she delightfully took me through each section. I was lucky that she had time because there is a great deal on the very busy menu. She recommended to me the ahi nachos and the steak tacos. She must have known me, because I was leaning in that direction. Red and red is always wonderful! After I gave her my order the very effective team brought me some of the best looking chips and salsa I have ever seen. The chips looked amazing but unfortunately the bright reds of what I thought was chili and salt belayed what my taste buds experienced, bland home made chips matched with chilled salsa that also was mostly without flavor. For the life of me, I dont know how they did it. I have never had salsa with so little flavor. Next up was the beautifully plated tuna nachos. They are gorgeous and the meat of the Tuna was bright, smelled very fresh but again like the nachos the flavor profile was not 100%. The tuna could have used a marinade is something with some salt because they where placed on top of a too generous portion of guacamole. The guac was nice and airy, quite enjoyable but in the composition of the dish you were left with a chip with a bunch of guac and very little tuna to taste. Less guac and a bit of flavor on the tuna and there would be close to another star up there. Last for my lunch was the steak tacos. Man, again really beautiful to look at but the execution was lacking in some areas. The red rice seemed like little more that white rice with tomato paste. Not bad unless the rice was sitting in a dry steam well cooking for hours. When it reached my place it was at least an hour past when it should have been thrown out. What funny is the re-fried beans where, by far, some of the best I have ever had. It was a shame the rice was so dry, the combination would have been magical. The taco filled with well marinated/cooked steak and fried onions as well as a delightful chimichurri sauce have so much potential and were the first dish I had that was well seasoned. The problem for me was that they cooked the steak on an over greased flat top. My steak literally bled grease through the taco forcing me to find a way to eat the sloppy mess. That taco left me feeling like I had eaten at a fast food restaurant.(I am not saying quality wise there ingredients seem to be top notch) Borrowing from Johnny Depp — You either are a Mexi-CAN or Mexi-CAN’T — right now this concept for me is a Mexi-CAN’T. I would love for them to turn things around as they are not far from good but as of now this nach-yo place to do the salsa on your taste buds. Until my next Mexican idiom — dine fine.
