As someone who is from Maui, I would honestly say that this is the WORST place to go for Local food; or any food if I must say. The teriyaki burger is an(obviously) previously frozen party which was smothered in a gel-like teriyaki sauce. The Pasta comes with a choice of either soup or salad; I got soup. The soup was chicken noodle soup clearly out of a can and I was disgusted. Also, my pasta had a fake lemon flavor to it and the fish inside of it was so dry and overcooked. The server had a bad attitude and was rolling her eyes when she walked away from people. This place is a joke and it’s mediocre. Way overpriced. Do not spend your money here! Especially if you’re on vacation. I would hate for you to think this is what real local dishes are like.

Super casual place for dinner. Love it! Start with the sautéed mushrooms and garlic bread, dip the bread into the sauce from the mushrooms — it’s amazing! I love to get the Mushroom burger with teriyaki sauce. It is so good!!! Then I finish with a Kīlauea snowball for dessert. I ate here for lunch yesterday and they had a pasta special with breaded chicken and lemon caper sauce which was delicious!!! Side note: I don’t care too much for their breakfast, not too much options. But I still love it here!

avoid this place at all costs. menu looks decent, service is terrible. staff could not figure out how to separate checks for a group of 7 people. waited a long time for food. our drinks never came, our table was never bussed. waited another 45 minutes for our separate checks which they somehow«lost». tell me, how do you lose a check and not be able to re-write a new one? this was a definite miss.

I stick with the steak pupu n the sauté mushroom everything else I tasted there I didn’t like. Customer service,…ummm…hmmmmm…some times it’s good sometimes it’s not so good. No matter if they busy or not.

So we go here all the time and each time we do go we always order the Teri burger and it is always really good… we’re hooked. So we went in for lunch and ordered our normal but when it came it definitely wasn’t our normal. The burger patty itself was mushy and white looking compared to the normally perfectly cooked patties. The bread was also very pale… almost like sweet bread looking and fell apart very easily getting mushy. The pattie was bigger than the bun making it super awkward and messy to eat it. As a got to the second half of my burger I noticed that there was what looked to be mold on the bottom… when I asked about it they told me that they sometimes store it with their taro bread causing it to look purplish in some spots. Idk really, u can’t store it seperately… anyways I stopped eating. The sauce was lumpy but yet thin and didn’t taste like it normally does. Our waitress wasn’t the greatest and at the end she bought the bill said she’d be back and then just took off for someone else to help us… needless to say I was sure to give the tip to the new girl who had been more helpful than our waitress. The new waitress when asked said that they had n ordered the wrong items… well i sure hope they fix that because the food wasn’t that good. All in all it definitely wasn’t the best experience… but I learned they now do half order nachos at any time now, before it was just during happy hour.

This place sucks. The only good part was the oreo sundae. Had to constantly wave down my server for every thing(refills, take our order, bring us our check and dessert) none of the other servers wanted to help out when I asked them if we could get dessert because our server was NOWHERE to be found. When I was ordering she couldn’t even understand what I wanted. I told her the ny steak and pointed right at it on the menu and it took her literally five minutes just to figure out what I wanted. Never coming back, shoots Koho’s!!!

The food is always great. But the service is iffy. It has gone way down over the years. We waited at the door with 5 different workers walk past us and not even a «someone will be right with you» or a simple smile. I know no one wants to truly BE at work, but you’re getting paid(and tipped) to give customer service

Friendly serves as always. The garlic bread with sautéed mushrooms are amazing together especially when you let the read soak up all the sauce from the mushroom. I had the koho plate. Chicken was dry and so was the sauce. But in the end the Kilauea snowball hit the spot.

We went here while waiting for the ICU to get our mom settled in after surgery. We only had about 45 minutes to a hour. When I asked the Hostess how long the wait was(it was Friday night) and explained our situation we were sitter at a Nice table in just a few Minutes. She kept checking back with us. So very nice. The food was Very good also. Can not beat the ribs. We were all pleased and impressed with the people

If you’re looking for diner-style food or a casual place to have a drink, this is the place for you. My friends and I come here quite often, so we know the menu well. ATMOSPHERE: Koho is located in Queen Kaahumanu Center, first level, south side next to the women’s Macy’s. Its has a simple, diner-style vibe, with lots of booths and tables that can accommodate large parties. The bar area, our favorite area, has several high tops, traditional lows and bar top seating for about 8. No reservations needed in this area. MENU: Good bar apps like nachos, chili cheese fries, burgers, fajitas, pastas, saimin, steak & chicken entrees, desserts. FOOD: Fajitas — My fave dish here. Beef or chicken on a(usually) sizzling platter. I opt for rice instead of tortilla shells, dump the guacamole & sour cream on the sizzling platter and make myself a chopped steak. Holy yum! Koho Plate — Grilled chicken breast topped with a mushroom cream sauce and side of rice and mac salad. Good taste, cheap and filling. I don’t care for chicken breast but its pretty juicy and tender in this dish, trust me. Mushroom Burger — This is a pretty big burger, so don’t fret. The homemade patty is tender and juicy, and topped with swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and lots of alfalfa sprouts which enhances the flavor. Good burger but not the best I’ve had. Comes with crispy, thick cut shoestring fries. Nachos — Big portion but skimpy on the toppings. Ask for more toppings and you get charged. Fish & Chips — AVOID. Over done and the batter is tasteless. Garlic Bread — Crunchy, soft & buttery. A must have with the sauteed mushrooms. Sauteed Mushrooms — Pretty damn good for a local restaurant. Onions, wine and butter. Goes great with the garlic bread. Chili Cheese Fries — Generous portion with melted cheese and tasty chili topping. Steak Pupu — Wow, this is the ultimate app for your happy hour, or even a meal in itself! Super tender steak strips stir fried in a salty and slightly sweet soy sauce, with fresh mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. Perfect to share between 2. This item isn’t listed on the menu so ask for it. Seafood Bisque — O-M-G this is a must try! It’s normally their soup of the day which doesn’t happen very often according to our server. Super creamy and full of flavor. There were a few pieces of crab meat but not much else. Still delish nonetheless. Koho Pasta — Fettuccine with the Koho cream sauce(same as the one on their Koho Plate & Dinner) with fresh tomatoes and garlic bread. It was good but not the best as far as an Alfredo-like sauce. It’d be killer if they added fresh mushrooms & maybe green peas. Saimin — It’s a pretty good sized bowl for the low price. The broth was steamy hot, tasty and savory with no sweetness. The noodles were a bit overcooked but still edible. It came topped with chopped ham, hard boiled egg slices, and green onions. The perfect post-drinking snack! Corn Chowder — The cup is small for the price of $ 3.50. The soup was medium in thickness and had a good slightly sweet and mild savory flavor. Roast Pork — Shredded and tender pork with a mild light brown gravy. It’s pretty tasty but not the best I’ve had. Comes with rice & their mildly seasoned mac salad. Portion size is a bit smallish. Definitely order a salad or soup to accompany. This isn’t listed on the menu so ask for it. SERVICE: Staff are diner-style friendly. No reservations are needed because turnover is pretty quick, but expect a wait due to their popularity and lack of decent restaurants in the area. TIP: Margarita special on Thursdays — cheap at $ 2.25 but they skimp on the alcohol. Tasted like Kool Aid with salt on the rim. :( Avoid sitting near the kitchen entrance/exit cause all you’ll hear during your meal is the waitstaff shouting«corner» when they round the corner. OVERALL: Good food(except for the fish & chips,) friendly service and casual atmosphere.

What can I say about this place. It is convenient, fast, and friendly. My friends and I go there for pauhana drinks at least once a week where we always get a table or high-top in the bar area. There are nightly drink specials and a Happy Hour that ends at 6pm. They also have a special on Margaritas on thirsty Thursdays. Originally opened as Apple Annie’s when Ka’ahumau Center opened in the early 70’s by the Applegates(the bar section was called Guacamole’s) it was later sold and transformed into Koho’s in the late 80’s. Offering American and local fare, it has become one of Kahului’s busiest eateries. Service at the bar is quick and fast thanks to Carol and Renee(the Bartenders), and the servers are also quick and always check on you. The food is consistent and you never leave hungry. To me they have the best dessert, the Kilauea Snowball!

Drinks are great. Service is ok the only thing I order is the fried chicken. I’ve tried other menu items and wouldn’t order again. Eat fried chicken, garlic bread, and mushroom appetizer

When i first moved here 5 years ago, kohos was the first place i ate. For breakfast i always get the Road To Hana with English Muffin, its really tasty & they cook it skillet style. For lunch & dinner i always get the Koho Plate with Rice, its one of the best food they have over there & its their signature dish. Its located at the mall next to Macys womens side & theres parking in front of the resturaunt, i prefer parking a little far due to the parking spaces there are kind of small.

Lava Flow was delicious! Food was alright tho. Nothing out of the ordinary. Not really worth the prices charged. Nice staff. Dated ambiance… for older people. No healthy options either… or not healthy enough to list.

Amazingly I have been living in Maui for over a year and yet have had the nerve to try this place even with everyone who goes and eats here! Radio commercials often with Augie T talk about koho grill and advertise specials! To my surprise I found that the Asian chicken salad is down right amazing! It is very light seasoned with some kind of guava passion fruit sauce! Toasted almonds and wonton encrust the salad and are the best part! Roasted nice and crisp! Other mentionable items where: 1. Koho special omlet 2. Mushroom burger 3. Sautéed mushrooms 4. Fajitas are wicked!

Koho’s Grill and Bar is located in the Queen Kaahumanu Center. Next to Macy’s and Ramen Ya. When you walk in you will be greeted by a hostess. You can sit in the bar area or the restaurant side. They have booths or tables. Sometimes you may have to wait to be seated but it usually goes fast. Food selection you have a variety of things to choose from appetizers to share to a nice selection of salads. Plate lunches comes with rice and mac salad. They also have burgers and sandwiches to choose from to. Every time I go it never fails I always get the fish plate I like it sautéed and to me is delicious. I’m pretty easy to please. When it comes to desert and if you ate so hungry get the Kilauea snow ball(fried ice cream) o goodness this is the best in a cinnamon shell and with caramel to YUMMY is all I can say. The staff here are friendly and attentive. The food usually comes out pretty quick after your order has been placed. Plus on Tuesdays is fajita day so go share a fajita with a friend is really good and comes with cheese sour cream guacamole lettuce and salsa. You can choose from steak chicken. We usually get chicken and it’s plenty to share. On Thursdays it’s Margarita day hey for 2.25 for a Margarita you can’t go wrong. So if you’re done with shopping or have free time stop by koho’s.

This is seriously the Denny’s of Maui. Cheap food that’s quite unimpressive but will serve its purpose if everything else I’d closed. I sat in the bar section and asked for a drink list and the bartender said they had no menu and referred me to a board with a few drinks. I ended up getting some non-memorable tropical concoction. The drink was sweet not a lot of alcohol and it had as hair in it. Couldn’t finish it so took it back. For dinner I ordered some lemon mahi mahi pasta. It was OK very lemony and the fish was tasty. It wasn’t the best meal but for the price it served its purpose. If you are by the airport and Aviv absolutely need to eat for cheap late night then maybe come here. But really its not a must I wld avoid as a tourist esp since its so many great places to eat in the neighborhood.
