If you are looking for an upscale grocery or ambience, this isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for super fresh, delicious, and exotic fruits and veggies at reasonable prices(for Maui), don’t miss Rowena’s. Selection was great, quality high, and staff super friendly and helpful. They found some riper avocados in the back, opened a coconut for my daughter to drink(then sliced it open so she could get to the meat), and gave some cooking suggestions

Being located in a small industrial area, they are very easy to locate with their huge, bold, & simple sign. The produce here are very reasonable… Actually, their prices are awesome compared to our local grocery stores around the area. Aaand, sometimes they even give free produce! The last time we went there on a Saturday afternoon, there were a basket of many Apple bananas that she told us to just take! I mean, those bananas are bomb for banana lumpia, so for sure we took a load of them home!

The address in Unilocal is wrong. The correct address is: 230 Hana Hwy Kahului, HI96732 United States It’s across the street from the Hyundai sales lot. The staff was very friendly, and the variety of produce was terrific. From lemongrass to brussel sprouts, jalapenos to potatoes to plantains. There’s also a collection of Asian and Filipino sauces and edible goods. It’s worth stopping here before heading out to Safeway/Costco for the rest of the list. :)

This is one of my favorite places to buy produce because it’s very affordable, fresh and local. I usually come here first then go to Whole Foods or some where else to buy whatever I need. But I find I can get so much for a great price. Their locally grown greens and herbs are wonderful. Plus I love the Molokai purple potatoes. Awe and the local lemons and limes too… I could go on about all that I love here. Most things here are locally grown on their farm in Kula. The label notes where items are grown and you can always ask if unsure. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. If you want something you don’t see, just ask as they might have it in the back. Say you want $ 1 worth of cilantro instead of the $ 2 bag… just ask and they’ll give you a smaller quantity. They have a location on S. Kihei Road in the Aloha Market which is closer to my house, but the selection is not as good. This main location has be most and seems to be stocked often. This is a great stop for visitors and locals when you’re in town. They do accept cards as payment too, so not limited to cash only.
