It’s got air con, it’s got coffee and soda and it’s got a few chairs. Can’t add anymore cause there isn’t anymore.

Its a small lounge. If you’re lucky if you get a seat, once or twice I have gotten one sharing a table with someone. I usually travel for work so its weekday travel for me except for today. Full house today. No seats and I really needed to charge my electronics so I jacked up near a table and luckily the 2 folks near the table left shortly thereafter. No bathroom in this one. Honolulu airport has the bathroom inside which is nice. Also notice the entrance scanner usually works but can be tricky. Twice before people will pound on the door to be let in. No monitor at this one like at the Honolulu one, so really anyone could go in if they shadowed you or someone lets them in. The rule is 2 guests per premier member. One of my last rips up a lady banged and banged til someone let her in. I was no where near the door nor felt like being the premier police so I let someone else let her in. She brought 8 guests!!! This also makes for folks leaving their cups and rubbish around. My wifi won’t always connect up to the Hawaiian system but honestly I don’t know if my laptop sucks or its their wifi(won’t work at the Hon one either so might be me). On the bright side, look Kona Airport is HOT so it is a welcomed change. You’ve got your fountain beverages and coffee, AC, and a TV, plus cell and laptop charging stations.

«Closed due to flooding». Thanks Hawaiian Airlines; no advanced notification of the closure. I could have sat in my rental car with the air conditioning on and had a more comfortable seat and a plug to charge my phone.

I don’t like using the word nasty. It’s just not a pleasant sounding word and connotes all kinds of terrible things. But, and I say this as a loyal Hawaiian Airlines customer, this lounge is just… nasty. Airline lounges are supposed to be like Switzerland — safe harbors that pamper you just a bit, put you at ease, and ply you with food and drink. First, some positives: — As others have noted, this little pocket of air conditioning is a godsend from the eye-blistering heat of the Kona airport, especially on days when it’s voggy. — There is free wifi — If soft drinks are your thing, there’s an unlimited supply of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Water, and Fruit Punch(along with little bags of cheese-flavored snacks) Unfortunately, the cons nearly erase the goodness of those positives: — Unlike the lounge in Honolulu, which has an attendant to verify whether you’re permitted to be there, you have to enter a code on the door to get in. Unfortunately, the code isn’t printed on your ticket, which means that if you self check in with no bags(or print your ticket at home), you still have to stand in line with people checking in, just to get the code(which I’ve learned changes on some vague and intermittent schedule). — The lounge itself is the size of a phone booth. You’re likely to get a seat in there on one out of three trips through. — It’s rarely(if ever?) checked on by personnel. So there are days when trash is everywhere, the soft drink machines are out(either of syrup, carbonation, or both), and the wi-fi password sign is missing. On those fateful days you are basically standing in an air-conditioned closet with no food, no beverage, and no wifi. Those are the days when I start thinking it’s better to combine my genes with a reptile so I can just sit outside and enjoy the balmy weather. Having been through Kona regularly over the past two years, I’ve experienced those days more frequently than I thought possible.

This lounge needs to be cleaned regularly. There weren’t any new cups to use. It would be much nicer to spend the last minutes in open air by the gate. It is more beautiful.

Mahalo for giving u such a nice brake from the fray and nastiness of the current state of travel. If you can… cash in your air miles to upgrade o first class and take advantage of this nice chill zone to re-charge your electronic equipment and circumvent the over excited tourists that thrust their way to the front of every line. Great staff and amenities.

If it’s really warm outside, the Hawaiian Airlines lounge is a brief respite from the heat with its AC and free soft drinks. However, this is the tiniest lounge I’ve been to, with at most 15 seats. It doesn’t really compare to airline lounges on the mainland, so don’t come expecting that. In any case, you’re in Hawaii… why would you want to be stuck inside in the lounge? The airport itself is quaint and beautiful, spend your last moments in Kona enjoying the beautiful weather at the open air gates.
