Mara helped me with my pre-​wedding photoshoot. It was a bless to have her, compared with my wedding day bridesmaid stylist from elsewhere. Phew!
She arrived in time, and was patient enough waiting for us to finish up our rehearsal. She did two hair for me and everything went extremely well. I loved the hair and make up she did on me. It was a breeze and she finished up everything in almost perfection! I love my pre-​wedding photoshoot photos.

Mara did such a wonderful job with my sister’s hair and makeup for her recent wedding at the Mauna Lani. We feel so lucky to have found her! My sister was simply stunning, and very happy with how she looked when she walked down the aisle. And she made the process easy by coming to our hotel room.
She also brings a much-​needed sense of calm to pre-​wedding prep — never an easy job, I’m sure.

Mara is amazing! I planned my engagement photos in Waikoloa months in advance (from Cali) and after extensive research to find a good make up artist/​hair stylist, I was excited to stumble upon Lilikoi Hair Studio’s website. I knew right then I wanted Mara to do my hair and make up. Mara had a planned vacation, but she was so sweet to squeeze me in before her flight. We kept in touch through text for months and on the day of my engagement shoot, Mara came to the timeshare where I was staying to style me. I showed Mara some looks that I had in mind and she got started right away. I cannot express how happy I was with the end result. Mara is professional and super talented at what she does. I would HIGHLY recommend her if you’re looking for someone to enhance your beauty!

I cannot thank Mara enough… she did an outstanding job on our makeup and hair for my sisters wedding. She allowed enough time for everyone to review pictures of ideas as well as discuss makeup options and still kept us on schedule. She uses the newest products and has endless tricks up her sleeve. My sister (the bride), two nieces and mother of the groom were beautified with Mara’s talent! Mara is on trend, understood exactly what we were looking for and nailed it!

We found Mara thru her previous Unilocal reviews and thank god we did because she delivers exactly what everyone is raving about. She isn’t just the best hair/​make-​up person to have for your wedding. She should and was our #1 choice. The brides hair and make-​up were done to perfection. She was on-​time, pleasant to work with, reasonable pricing (you get what you pay for) and she travels to clients. We really loved having her partake in the Tanaka-​Sadamoto wedding. My fiancé found Mara online before we arrived in Hawaii to do my hair for our wedding. I was running so late on the big day, she was accommodating with the time and came to our time share. Not only did she make me look absolutely beautifulwith my hair, but helped myself and bridesmaids with our make-​up, which we did not originally hire her to do. I truly could not have done this day without her. She was amazing and beyond kind and generous. My husband could not have done a better job by finding her. Thank you Mara for everything. Mara and her team are AMAZING!!! My friend had a destination wedding in Kona and Mara and two others girls did the bride’s, her five bridesmaids’, two moms’, and two grandmothers’ hair and makeup and everything was fabulous! They used airbrush makeup and it was flawless on all ten of us. Our hair was equally as wonderful! On top of doing perfect hair and makeup, they were so much fun! All three girls were so nice, energetic, and sweet! They were on time and kept to the bride’s time schedule without making us feel rushed. It was truly an excellent experience! I highly recommend them for any occasion!!!

I found Mara Michael thru Vintage and Lace Weddings (my wedding planner). Quick background, I hardly every wear make-​up and get my hair done. I am hesitant and lazy with beauty things. So was I about either getting a stylist (she was a little pricey). It was one of the last things I booked for my destination wedding in Kona. I have to say I absolutely have no regrets! Worth the money!
What I envisioned looking was as if I had a NO make up on. Many times in the past I ended up looking like a clown or unnatural or curled hair ending up limp in 2 hours with stylists in the past. My correspondence with Mara were all via email/​text which all her responses were prompt. I met with her prior for a trial run at Lush Salon. The trial really helped solidify my decision to move on with styling and she gave a lot of great suggestions and input with colors and hair style.
Day of the wedding, she came to our vacation rental 5 minutes early, which was a tough drive and challenging to find. She had to load and unload all her equipment up a flight of stairs, in a semi-​humid weather. When she finished me, my bridesmaid, and hair for my flower girl, we ran a little late and she was graceful enough to be left at the house, close up, and even turned the lights on for when we get back from the wedding festivities. Something small like that really catapults you to 5 stars.
She is so talented and precise. I was not covered up, I was ENHANCED! She even worked around my failed eyelash extensions that I had done in LA and used her fake lashes and made it looked great. She was really patient with this interference. I had my hair just curled with orchids on the side. Hair and makeup (airbrush) lasted the entire wedding time, no touch ups needed. Thank you Mara, I felt confident and beautiful!!!
