Two words: Dole Whip. Or is it one word: Dolewhip? Either way, I live in Hilo and when I visit Kona side, I go out of my way to stop by this frozen yogurt place just to experience the delight of DOLEWHIP!!! I can’t get enough :)

The couple who run this place are so nice! They custom made Dole Whip floats for us. Ask for the dole whip floats. They’re awesome! They fresh squeeze their own pineapple juice for it.

So far I’ve been in Kona for about 4 days and I’ve come here 3 out of the 4! Usually when I go, I order the Pitaya bowl and it is so good. They have amazing service and I just love it so much! I completely recommend it to anyone who is in Kona.

Colorful, big shaved ice! Owners were nice and friendly… A little chincy on napkins(we have 2 little boys) but obliged the 7 times we asked for more napkins. Owners even asked local teens to stop smoking near the kids without any prompts.

Wouldn’t give any stars if possible. Wouldn’t let me sample my choice of frozen yogurt, so when I finally paid and tried it, I was not content with what I got. Extremely stingy and rude staff. Find another place if possible.

Decent place. Good options. They have Dole Whip, which is why I went there.

Zero stars, if I have the choice… rude dude, ignorant and cheap… product and service can’t compare to Yogurtland or Menchie’s…It’s a tourists trap. I would never come back and I won’t recommend it!!!

Great little independent shop! Owners are very friendly and give great service. They recommended flavored for us to try for shave ice and they were a winner! Also: my husband is absolutely obsessed with lemonade and claims that this is one of the best he’s had. She squeezed it fresh for us while we were waiting for our shave ice. Will definitely be coming back during our week here!

Fun and convenient little place! Very helpful and friendly staff! I had frozen yogurt and my wife had shaved ice. Both were excellent. Nice place to sit outside and enjoy the view! Have been a patron of Baskin Robbins in the past, however am now a convert! Location and quality make this my go-to place going forward!

30 mins later and still don’t have my order. The girl working the register tried to tell us our order for 5 shaved ice was $ 48. She had another employee Come out and help. Finally she saw the mistake. 30 mins later only 1 came out. We told them to cancel our order they said oh good that means we can close early. They don’t even understand the concept of customer service or manners.

It seemed pretty expensive for some shave ice. $ 20 for 3. We stopped on the side of the road on the south end of the island and paid $ 13 for 4 of them. Just sayin.

On a hot and humid day in Hawaii, there’s not much better than some frozen yogurt and acai bowls with topping of your choice! Had the coconut yogurt with some lychee jelly, passion fruit boba, chocolate syrup and some sprinkles for the kiddos. Wife had the acai bowl and it was also delicious! Will be back during our next visit to the big island! Lastly, the owner was awesome. Very friendly and genuine when we asked about some of the items on the menu. He made our visit there very pleasant!

This place was unbearably hot and DIDN’T HAVESHAVEICE. Their machine was broken!!! What even is that? That’s all we wanted! Also the frozen yogurt is sub par and kind of melty.

Unassuming lil froyo store in the back of the plaza with tropical fruit flavors. Self serve just like yogurt land but about 25 cents more per oz. Nice frozen treat while being a tourist

I know I was really excited to be in Hawaii, so I was really excited to see tropical flavors! I got lychee, passion fruit, mango. basically anything that was tropical was in my cup. There’s a decent selections of toppings. It was the end of the night, but there were still enough left. Looking at the reviews, it looks like there’s a no-sample policy into affect. I assume this business had some trouble in the past, especially being in a touristy area, which is why they have this policy. If you happen to be in the area, and want a frozen treat, you can’t go wrong with the froyo here.

These guys need to change their business policies or close. Sorry. The«no sample policy» is ridiculous. And all the little messages everywhere«you are being recorded» and camera threatening everywhere is just off-putting. They get one star for having the Dole pineapple whip. Dear owners; Visit a Menchie’s on Oahu and borrow their model. You’ll be happier and so will customers. I’m on the search for another one in Kona now. Aloha

Apparently this place does not allow you to try the different self-service yogurt like most yogurt shops do. I thought the cashier behind the counter was kidding when he said I’ll have to charge you for trying those yogurts. I tried three of them at about half a teaspoon each. And he charged me $.69 for each one. Lol there’s 1 million shops to go to. Find a different one.

The only place we found that serves Dole Whip on the island! On the other hand, this place is super cariput. They don’t allow sampling and watch you like a hawk! I don’t know what they’re worried about we were definitely gonna get a buy a big cup of the stuff especially since we came all the way from Waikoloa just for the Dole Whip. The other thing I didn’t like was the fact that they only had 1 cup size! Their yogurts are not cheap at 55 cents/oz. The going rate on the mainland is 39 cents. When you checkin to Unilocal, you save 5% so every bit helps! On the positive side, their yogurts ARE pretty damn amazing. Our cup was full of Dole Whip and we dispensed some Mango in there also and both were so good! They really need to let people sample bc I could have easily got another cup of their Coconut Cream Pie and Pina Colada. Who doesn’t love tropical flavors?
