We are so blessed to have had Camille and her team cater our wedding. It was more than the amazing food, perfect service but it was the love that they all had toward me and my husband. Camille is so talented and her food is just ridiculously delicious! She is so kind and so is her staff. I can’t thank them enough for making our guests and us feel so special! I can’t wait to hire them in the future!

We went to her location at the Kailua Raquet club on oneawa. We had a wonderful breakfast that was simply amazing. Best food I have had in a long time. Camille even brought our food out to us and cleared our plates though that is not her job at this place. epic food and stellar service!

Last night I attended a catered Passover seder with several hundred in attendance. When I saw the little Camille’s truck outside I admit I was taken aback. What do these people know about a Passover seder? I have to say I was impressed. The wait staff worked tirelessly and graciously in extremely crowded conditions that had to be difficult for them. I’m vegan so I ordered the vegetarian plate and hoped for the best. Usually at functions this big, the vegetarian food is barely edible. We had matzo ball soup, a delicious salad, mashed Okinawan potatoes, roasted veggies, and gefilte fish. I can’t speak for the chicken, which looked fine, but the Portabello mushrooms in the vegetarian place were the best I’ve ever had. They tasted like they were cooked on an outdoor grill. For dessert there was fruit and little pieces of some sort of macadamia pie. The only downside was the portions were small considering the $ 45 we paid per person. My main dish was just 3 smallish mushrooms.

Camille is the best! We just had a backyard luau for 10 people where the food was incredible, and the service was perfect. The kalua pork was amazing, but honestly we had ahi rolled in sesame seeds that disappeared and opaka paka that was to die for. We would hire Camille again in a heartbeat. Her staff was on time, friendly and did an amazing clean up job. Thank you for making our evening so special.

We saw Camille’s on Wheels on Diners Drive-in and Dives and was excited to try her food, including all the pies that looked amazing on her website and Unilocal. We wanted to book her as our caterer for our wedding rehearsal dinner at Aulani, thinking it’ll be a great way for everyone to get together in our room and just relax and eat. I emailed her four months before the event date to get the catering set up for 12 – 15 people and three weeks before our event date, I had it all confirmed via email. Planning a destination wedding in Hawaii was a lot more stressful than I thought and I didn’t have a chance to talk to Camille until two hours before our catering service. I called her and left her a voicemail to confirm the time that food will be delivered. She called me back and said she thought it’s the following week!!! Needless to say, this did not help with the wedding stress. I applaud her for trying to make up for the situation by offering to pay for half of our dinner cost that night at a restaurant of her choice. But we were seriously disappointed with her dropping the ball on us, especially it’s the day before our Big Day. We got so sad when we got back to our hotel room and saw clean plates and utensils all set up in our room by housekeeping for the catering. I’m sure her food is great, but please keep this incident in mind before you book her for catering… maybe triple-re-confirm?!!

Camille is so chill and laid back to work with, no can stress! We hired the food truck to cater our relaxed back yard beach house wedding reception … and the tacos, salsa, rice, beans, and Tahitian lemonade were sooooooo delish!!! The truck was the perfect vibe for our party, and all the guests had several helpings of ono tacos. The staff was awesome too – so nice not to worry about anything to do with food. They set up and fed us to the brim and drove away– a magic dream-feast that gave the anticipation and excitement of an ice cream truck from childhood, with all the spice and flavor of adulthood. Thanks Camille!

I read the reviews and OMG it’s true. Camille’s food is amazing, delicious and well presented. Wish she was in Texas! The fish tacos are grilled, meaty and full of flavor served on a double tortilla. These are enough to share between two people. This was by far the best and most decent price meal I had during my 5 night stay in Oahu. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but can’t wait! The owner should write a recipe book.(Hint, hint)

Had the meatloaf and mahi mahi special and a pork and mahi mahi taco. Altogether spent $ 25. Was a waste of money. I saw them on DDD from home in ny months ago was so siked to eat their food. The meatloaf was hard as a brick and the mahi mahi special was cold and it was raw. The pork taco was good but not worth $ 25 good for one taco. Was very disappointed. We showed up about 1:15pm and they were already wrapping up to go so maybe they just didn’t care. Well if that’s the case it showed…

Camille’s on Wheels I tracked you down at last! After seeing C-O-W on DDD I knew I had to try this Chick’s truck. I immediately started following them on Twitter so I could get the low down on their location. Turns out on a beautiful Saturday they were at the Kailua Pet Festival. The hubby and I both ordered the Mahi Tacos with rice and beans. The Mahi was fresh and delicious! It was topped with salsa, cilantro, and I added guacamole. I loved it all! The rice and beans were a great addition to the tacos. I really liked the rice, it was really moist.
The best part of my visit to C-O-W was the price! Two tacos for only $ 8.00? Yes, Please! I keep seeing pictures of meatloaf and all of their great desserts. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Now, I just have to wait until they are back in Town. Camille’s on Wheels can you please park somewhere around Ala Moana? Pretty Please?!

Camille’s is the bomb-diggity! Exclamation pointssssssss and extra added emphasis! Been wanting to try this truck forever since seeing it featured on one of my all time favorite shows… Diners Drive Ins and Dives! Really, it is THAT good. Spicy pork tacos and the fish tacos! It’s not just a taco. Seriously. AWESOME-NESS! My co-worker had the meatloaf today. Said it was the BEST he’s ever had. And while we were waiting, Camille let us try her Dulce De Leuche mac night pie. OMG, OMG. OMG. OMG. Like Whoa! I could possibly eat the whole pie — of course I’d be sick afterwards from all the sugar but it seriously was the best pie ever! Okay Unilocalies… if you haven’t tried Camille’s on Wheels yet, there is something seriously wrong with you. It’s a MUSTDO!!!

Camille on Wheels was in downtown for a couple of weeks by CPB, so we knew we just HAD to try it – esp. with all the raving reviews! I ordered the chicken pot pie and I must say that it was AMAZING!!! The flavor was so tasty and I loved the pastry puff on top. It was so flaky and light! This would have been a 5 star review– except I must say that the potatoes on the side were pretty bad. It was rubbery and had no taste… BUT if I were just rating the pot pie– then it would def get all 5 stars!

On a Saturday in late November, my dad and I spotted Camille’s at one of her usual Kailua. locations, near Mike McKenna’s. I first sampled Camille’s Tri-Berry pie($ 5), a berry-blasting dessert with a little mango for that exotic twist. A velvety, food porn-worthy filling here, not overly sweet, with great use of mangoes. the flaky, light crust still held everything in place. Just an outstanding pie. Finally, the main event. I ordered one of Camille’s signature items: her Spicy Thai Pork tacos with rice and black beans($ 6). A lovely ginger essence in the pork, just juicy and tender portions. The cilantro and the creamy sauce brought everything together for me. The accompanying hot sauce/chimichurri brought even more flavor to the dish. Because the tacos used two corn tortillas, I felt that may have overpowered the more subtle, delicious taco fillings(on several of my bites, the first thing I experienced was corn tortilla, not pork). I’d even consider something like a Spicy Thai Pork salad option: a bit larger portion of pork, lettuce, cilantro, sauce, etc., and charge a little more. I’d be down to order that any day of the week. The rice — flavored with ingredients like jalapenos, onions, and olive oil — helped a normal side dish become that can’t-miss standalone item. The beans were cooked perfectly. Camille is a sweet woman to talk with, and I hope she gets to experience the food cart mecca in Portland, Oregon(I suggest downtown Portland around SW9th and 10th, cross-streets of Washington and Alder, for starters). I’m honored to eat food from a person who has cooked for Iron Chefs just a few weeks ago. Camille will not hit you with uppercuts of flavor, but instead seduces you with that everlasting balance of harmonious love.

Tacos were boring. Da wahine was cool, but cool don’t fill my belly. Rice and beans were horrid. Ended up in the rubbish. That’s saying something cause a fatty like me never throws out food. Sorry sista. No bueno. I Crush Your Head!

Chicken pot pie and I don’t care! Chicken pot pie and I don’t care! Until my most recent visit. Now I do care! About her whole menu that is. It’s Emily L’s last week in HNL so I had to take her to lunch when we both had the chance to go. I knew she liked Camille’s pies from the Open Party so I suggested we meet up near the capitol building and hope that Camille would be parked on Punchbowl. Sure enough, she was. SCORE! As soon as we turned the corner, there it was… her turquoise retro truck in all its glory. I could just smell the amazingness wafting in the air. I start getting faint thinking about the chicken pot pie. Woah. We chatted it up a little bit and put in our orders. Emily wasn’t sure what she wanted to try. I, of course, was pressuring her into the pot pie. Like, it shouldn’t even be that hard to pick pot pie when it’s the greatest one in the world. Camille on the other hand was trying to get her hooked on to the Ahi Chimichurri tacos. Even I was tempted to try them. And I don’t even like fish! WHAT?! Still indecisive, Camille hooked it up for her and made a combo plate with a slice of pot pie and a major fusion taco-mbo of Ahi Chimichurri and Thai Pork. I, in the last second, sprung for the meatloaf. I knew that was a lot of food for Emily so I had a slight chance of copping a bite of her pot pie… or at least a nibble of her amaze-crust, ya know? Spoken like a true recovering addict. Actually its too early to be recovering. hahaaaaa. You know how meatloaf is supposed to be one of the least glamourous meals. ever, well you haven’t had hers. Just sayin’. Because if that wasn’t the most flavorful slice of meatloaf ever, I would have thought I ordered a piece of expertly marinated steak. It’s tenderly moist, has a little kick, and fills you up without being a burden for the rest of the day. Served with a scoop of spiked rice and a fresh mixed salad, both with her spin on the norm and both gone in a matter of minutes, this plate is too delicious to savor for later. MUSTEATNOW. Camille really knows how to make comfort food and if I ever was down in the dumps, anything she could whip up would turn my frown upside down. Guaranteed. I had a bite of her Thai Pork taco and now I know what I have to get next time… that is if she doesn’t have her chicken pot pie… and I don’t care!!! She and her partner hooked us up with some cool bucket seats to have a picnic under the tree. So awesome. Emily used hers as an actual chair, but I couldn’t. I used mine as a table just to have the food closer to my mouth. Priorities people! Priorities. Once we were done with the foodgasm, we had no choice but to get a slice of her mango pah. Oh lordy. This is what dreams are made of. You can really taste the freshness of the mangos, because she honestly picked them the day before. Like. Who does that? Obviously someone who cares! So I guess I should too. Chicken pot pie and I DO care! Review #040/365

Before I know it, I’m probably going to have to go to some addiction seminars. Do they even have one for taco addictions? Probably not. But who said I can’t be gluttonous once in a while, especially if it’s for Camille’s! So far I’ve been there twice, Taco’ako Tuesday & Eat the Street, and I have yet to be disappointed. Menu is constantly changing. Oh I love being kept on my toes! Keeps the suspense alive. I swear I was talking about a relationship, rather than a review based on food. But anyways, first time around, ordered the carnitas taco with rice and beans. I’m sure it will throw you off because it definitely threw me off. When I first opened it, it looked nothing like a taco, just a ton of lettuce on top, but DONOT be fooled, I repeat, DONOT be fooled. You would assume that it would be lettuce overload, instead, it’s a great balance of pork and vegetables. Giving that light and refreshing taste, added with that sauce. I swear it was a sin. The tortilla are pretty great too. Very soft, and moist, like it just came off the griddle. Now here’s the best part. I’m sure it’s just luck, but this is the third time I’ve gotten free food(knock on wood). Supposedly there was a girl who looked similar, and Camille had thought it was me. But when she finally figured out it wasn’t me, she apologized, and decided to give me a free piece of her notorious mango pie. One of the best customer service’s I’ve experienced. They really do know how to treat their customers. The mango pie was just to die for. It wasn’t overwhelming with a powerful mango power, instead it was very light. There were bite sized mango pieces inside, and had a great flaky crust. Next thing you know, I’m going to have to attend taco & a mango pie addiction seminar!

While Thomas O. and I were climbing up Koko Crater, we were saying, «THEREBETTERBECAMILLE’S PIESUPTHERE! CAMILLE’S PIESAREJESUS!» Of course we’d use her pies as motivation. I was introduced to Camille’s on Wheels at Come Pley With Unilocal. All it took me was one bite… just ONE bite(RIGHTEMILY L?) of her pecan pie and I just closed my eyes and pretty much died. I agree with Emily L. I didn’t even know I was a fan of pecan until I ate her pie(teehee). I’m not even gonna try and explain how the taste was because there are no words in the English, Ilocano, ANY language to describe how delicious her pies are. One day, Chuco T. texted me with a photo of her chicken pot pie. Wait…wut? CHICKENPOTPIE?! I had to wait DAYS to finally get a chance to get her chicken pot pie at Eat The Street and dear sweet Camille… What do you put in your pies that make it so addicting and delicious? Crack? Cocaine? I DON’T UNDERSTAND! She also had her chocolate pecan pie with some kind of chili pepper in it and it was amazing. The pie crust was baked to perfection and I swear, the timing of the flavors were IMPECCABLE as if Camille was standing in the back of her truck, looking at her watch saying«Alright now there goes the creamy chocolate, then pecans, and then that final BURST of warm spice!» Camille is God. Her pies rule my world. Unilocal 365 Challenge #28/365

I was going to try this truck again, even if I was asked to change my post several months ago, from«ranch type of sauce» to something else to take the«sting» of the 3 star I gave, which I changed it to «home made» since I still didn’t know what it was, she recently asked me to read her post criticizing and insulting me and you, my fellow Unilocalers in Honolulu Magazine at about my «ranch style» which I have already graciously changed; #8 You are not actually a food critic The Internet has made everyone a critic and restaurateurs feel the effects, good and bad. Now anyone can let you know that the new bakery downtown serves cupcakes that are«sooooo scrumptious!» Or they can blame a restaurant because the tacos they got as takeout were cold by the time they got home. People, do you listen to yourselves? «The fact that I have a first-aid kit in my truck doesn’t make me a doctor,» says Camille Komine, who serves fusion tacos from her Camille’s on Wheels food truck. «And access to a computer and websites like Unilocal doesn’t make you a food critic.» Komine says she values professional critics’ writings, because they have«spent years developing their palates.» It’s the Unilocalers who cavalierly(and ignorantly) describe her mirin-mayo as «some sort of ranch sauce» that irk her. Or when someone writes«Why pay $ 8 for something I could make at home?»(as someone did about the Melt food truck), Komine would like to ask them, «So where do you get your Gruyère, and how long has it been aged?» I give her a 0 star for customer treatment, and outright bashing a customer in public with tweets, a 3 star for the taste of her food and the service she initially gave when I saw her, but a 2 star overall for the treatment I got months later for initially posting that her sauce tasted like«ranch» on my review. At least I know what her sauce really is now since it wasn’t answered when I initially asked what is her sauce was so I could have change it for her, but to have someone having a grudge for something so petty for so long and publicly criticize/insult me as a customer and you Unilocalers about my initial review on Unilocal after agreeing to change it for her several months ago is horrible customer treatment, and I sadly won’t be buying her food again because it gave a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Me: Hi my name is Emi and I have a mango pie addiction. Mango addicts anonymous: Hi Emi! I’ve been stalking, I mean interfacing, with Camille via her Facebook business page and requested that she make me a mango pie to pick up. It’s not enough for me to get a slice, I need an ENTIREPIE! She stayed up late to make an extra pie just for me(probably because she wanted me to leave her alone) and I drove Downtown to pick it up from her truck. A man who was waiting for his lunch ordered witnessed my crackhead like excitement at picking up my pie and said«Wow that good huh?» I looked at him and said«You’re just lucky I pre-ordered my pie. If there was only one pie between the two of us, I’d tell you it sucked just to get rid of you.» He chuckled nervously, but I’m pretty sure he bought a slice. I drove home and am now eating my second slice of pie which is covered in whipped cream from my fridge. It’s delicious and worth the $ 24 I paid for that pie. What I love about this pie is that the crust has a wonderful buttery flavor and she hasn’t added crazy amounts of sugar to the filling of fresh locally grown mangoes. If this pie was a woman, I’d totally go Lesbian and marry it! So in closing I leave you with a few quotes from the infamous Saturday Night Live character Mango: «Can you pay a rainbow to be more beautiful? No! You can’t have-a-da Mango!!!» Well you can have a mango pie but it had better not be mine!

Cool looking turquoise blue taco fusion truck! LOCATION: This one is really a roaming«Camille’s on Wheels». She roams around Kailua and Kakaako; I found this one in Kailua, on Kihapai Street on a Tuesday near Hardware Hawaii where it hangs out sometimes. I also found it in Kakaako this past Tuesday, but they are also in Kakaako on Thurs/Fri/Saturdays. It’s too hard for this non-tweeter to figure out where to go. FOOD: Thai Pork tacos were actually really delicious but messy! I tried to eat this one while driving and ended up feeding my car instead. The Chimichuri beef tacos were also very good but watch out for those tomatoes and cilantro, this is the first taco truck that I’ve seen put more veggies than meat on their taco. PRICE: At $ 3.50 each, I wanted these tacos to blow my mind out of Kailua. It didn’t. I know it isn’t fair to compare these to other trucks, but the spicy pork taco at Gogi is $ 2, and the tacos at TASTE are $ 2.75, so I’d rather just stay in town and go back to Gogi. My recommendation would be to get rid of the tomatoes and cilantro and keep the price down. SERVICE: Awesome service with a smile. Camille is awesome and the food is good, but the price and roaming location are probably what’s going to keep me from venturing back. BUT, if you happen to see this truck, you should check it out. The food is good and I hear her dulce de leche Pecan pie $ 4 and blue velvet cupcakes are worth the hunt for Camille’s on Wheels.
