I love Kailua block party

This is a great way to experience the Kailua community. The event was 11am-​4pm. Kailua Road was blocked off. There were a ton of tents and booths set up along with benches to enjoy the event.
Parking was a challenge. I didn’t get any information on where to park and parked in the Longs parking lot. I was there for about an hour and my car was still there too. Traffic was difficult too. I was stuck on the side streets for quite awhile.
There was live entertainment, crafts, informational booths to get to know Kailua, plants and of course food. Food and drinks were bought with scrips. $ 1 = 1 scrip. Most of the food was 4 scrips. It was pretty reasonable. All the main Kailua restaurants were there ranging from Buzz’s, Cinnamon’s and A Cup of Tea. Because if it’s location, there were all the eateries right there too like Lanikai Juice, Teddy’s, etc.
There were tshirts and buttons and other items to commemorate the event.
My favorite part was seeing all the doggies out and about. They were so happy.
I wish they had more crafts and fresh veggies and fruits to buy. But that’s what Thursdays are for (Thursday night farmers market).
All in all, a great event. Wear sunscreen and/​or a hat. Have cash and bring the whole family including the dog!
