Was at out back just a few hours ago, should have known from the sit down it was going to be bad, table was soaking wet, our server was out of it, took our order for drinks and brought water … to return and ask about out dinner order, very simple… blooming onion and our meal order… 45 min later our onion got there with no drinks followed by our server who desired to bring our drinks… 1 hr later Ai get a salad, not what I ordered, and my wifes meal has yet to show… 30 min later our server comes back and said OHH no chicken? And no wifes meal… well I have had enough and the ass mgr«stopped by to see how things were … told him we were ready to go we were tired of waiting, the mgr shows up and starts to apologies … she said she was sorry and they had a large table??? WTF I said I guess that we were not important enough to be waited on … screw this out back there are too many other places to get a good meal in Portage… live been to this Outback a few times and always and issue from slow service to wrong meals… never again save your money or go someplace else cause this place seriously sucks!!!

Went here in 2006 and had the worst meal ever from start to finish. So bad i swore i would not eat there ever again. After a full decade decided to chance it. Waited 25 minutes on a table after being told it would be 10 minutes. The place was half empty. Gave up and left. Maybe they will get there act together by 2026.

Went to Outback tonight and it was horrible! My steak came served with a complimentary hair on top of it. And it was overcooked to boot! The asparagus was overcooked and tasted like rubber. Talked to the manager and she brought another plate of food, the steak was still«Mooing» this time. I had to ask for silverware, our bread, my wine and I told the manager to forget it, I was done! She took care of the meal. I just don’t understand… the place was packed… are there no discerning patrons out there at all??? This was not our first time here either. We went two weeks ago and when my husband ordered the lamb chops, the waiter came back and told him they were out! Then he came back 5 min later and said they were out or garlic mashed potatoes. This was on a Friday night at 5:00 pm.

Bartender ignored us for awhile. We interrupted him to order beer. Still ignored us. The we started to leave he served us. Then knew we were mad and ignored us the rest of the time. Didn’t ask if we wanted food or more beer.

I am steak person I have been a fare outback steaks houses. When me and coworkers went there to eat dinner we where told that there is 45 minute wait. But there was open tables but nobody seating in them. So we waited for the table. It took 30 minutes to get a table. When we got a seat the waiter was nice, polite and quite knowledgeable about the menu. Talked to General Manager before we got our food. She apologized for the wait. I did tell her that she had quite a few bad reviews and she goes«oh?!»… like she was surprised. So when food came New York strip steak was perfect, mashed potatoes was great and the steamed broccoli was just right. Both of my coworkers dish was cook to the standard. I would come back to eat there again. I just hope they kill that wait time.

Outback, hmmm, been here many times and always have a good experience. Steak is always good and is my usual item to order. However, Last time we were there we arrived around 4:30, shortly after opening. Restaurant was nearly empty but for some reason we had to wait nearly ten minutes for a table, odd and annoying. Particularly odd since three employees stood at the hostess stand talking the whole time. This is my only complaint. Never had a bad dish and I’m sure we’ll be back.

Poorly prepared shoe-leather tough steaks. My mother-in-law ordered medium and when it was brought to the table and she stuck a fork in it we all heard the steak MOO. Mine was a medium also that was uncooked on the inside and barely lukewarm. Paid extra for Mac n Cheese side dish and it was blah tasting. The blue-cheese wedge salad(also paid extra) was okay — should have just ordered that and quit while I was ahead. Overpriced soft drinks and expensive beer even though I only ordered a Bud Lite — not a ‘premium’ brand. The server was inattentive and disappeared for almost ten minutes I had to go into the kitchen looking for him. Three out of four of our last visits over the past year were unsatisfactory. This restaurant needs a makeover replete with new cooks, wait staff, and probably new management.

We don’t come often, but each time exceeds previous. Tonight we had steak and unlimited shrimp. It was excellent. Service superb. No eye rolls from waitress when we ordered more shrimp. Clean, delicious, and great value for the money.($ 15.99)

My wife and I took my parents to this Outback in Kalamazoo yesterday. I ordered soup and a burger. She ordered a chicken sandwich and steamed broccoli. My parents ordered steak and shrimp. My wife and I were both sold food that was not even warm. The steamed broccoli was quite rubbery and also room temp. We didn’t want to spoil the event for my parents so we did not tell them anything. No sure how their meals were. Very disappointing! The tortilla soup was delicious though.

Worst Outback I’ve been to. Medium steak came out well done and burnt. Mac n cheese had no cheese and pretty much like eating noodles sprinkled with broken croûton crumbs. Service was horrible. Overall, just not a good Outback. Pics posted, if you want a good laugh. Oh yeah– sent the steak back and I’ve been waiting 20 minutes now. No manager table visit either, of course…

Pretty good service for a Friday night… had a great Ribeye. Meat cooked to perfection… don’t normally like steak at a restaurant but this was good.

It’s an outback. I haven’t had a bad experience here, even when it’s been busy. I look at the bad reviews and think to myself: There’s no pleasing some people.

Honestly would give zero if it was available. They cannot even cook a burger correctly. Then blame the thickness of the patty. Management was a joke. Instead of removing they attempted to charge me for an extra burger then left the poor waitress to handle it. Never even an apology. Do not waste your time this place is a joke who could care less about customers.

What a disappointment, ordered the chicken tortilla soup as an appetizer, it was cold and had maybe 3 small pieces of chicken. Ordered the tilapia with«lump» crab meat, the crab meat was mushy like tuna fish and the flavor of the tilapia was nasty. My wife ordered teriyaki filet medallions, meat was tough tough tough and can you say salty… seriously it could have been sold as jerky.

Was super disappointed we used to go here a lot and liked it but came here tonight and it was not good. The food was very salty and cheap tasting. The portions have even gotten smaller. Our waiter was sweet and the new décor is nice but I don’t think we will be going back soon.

Usually we are pleased with our meals at Outback but tonight’s was really quite a disaster. My husbands steak was first delivered without the side he ordered, we waited for more than 15 minutes for the side to be delivered, while waiting my husband attempted to eat his steak which was mostly a large piece of fat. We asked for it to be remade and just put in a to go box. The manager brought out the steak and potatoes on a plate and had to go get a box to put it in. The only compensation for this poor meal was a certificate for a free appetizer on our next visit. Unfortunately, I doubt there will be a next time. My husbands meal should have been free. Sorry, Outback Steakhouse of Kalamazoo, but you are seriously slipping. Next time I want a nice steak meal, I’ll go to Texas Roadhouse.

Typical outback. The service was good and the food came out fast. I had the chicken sandwich and rice instead of fries. The rice seemed like it may have been sitting around for a bit, but overall it was a decent meal.

Had a very good steak and lobster dinner the other day with a friend and my wife(oh yeah, and our 2 year old). Each meal was pretty darn good even for foodie standards. I was most impressed by the kids meal(chicken and broccoli). Service was great, she was very understanding, and best yet patient as I chased my kid around her restaurant. I’ve decided that Outback is one of those places that you can’t go to once a week but can definitely handle once every 2 to a month. It’s a good upgrade from Brann’s, but some will argue the other way around. I’m big on consistency and Outback has it.

I haven’t been to an Outback for at least 10 years, and was pleasantly surprised. The sinful Bloomin’ Onion is still great, and my steak with mushroom sauce, garlic mash and green beans was very ok. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Not Ruth’s Cris, but not half bad. I’d go again.
