No non-alcoholic beer. For real? This is the 21st century and«Beer City USA» is only 45 minutes away. Not that hard. To top it off, Pepsi products are proudly served. I can’t even drink a Coca-Cola.

Fantastic nachos. If they came with guacamole then it would be bliss. 5 stars even without guacamole. TEXTBOOKQUALITY service. Friendly experience. Drank some dragons blood. Should have played poker. Always next time. I’ll be back. YUMMY!!!

Keep in mind its a meat market and keep in mind that you’re there to drink and kind of understand what the other person is saying while you dance. That being said, the place is laid out well, and the whole building is appointed well enough to be a better-build club than other spots in Kzoo. Yes, the staff can either make or break a place and when servers don’t get a good base wage and prices stay stagnant, you get what you have now and that’s just flirt girls who don’t have any better money ideas and aren’t quite ready to take up stripping. However, like the wind, the staff of bimbos changes with the seasons and semesters, so give it 4 months if you didn’t like it last time. The reason I’m giving it four is because if you look too old, they’ll actually ask you to leave. It happened to a friend of mine and it makes me not even consider the place if I have somebody like my dad with me or something…

Typical Kalamazoo garbage bar food, par for the course here in the Paris of the Midwest. Service is a little sketchy, the wait staff is distracted and air-headed and the bar staff tends to murder customers. Literally.

*An amazing place to introduce yourself to the skunks and skanks of Kzoo.* **Lol double bag anything you bring home that isn’t in a to-go box** Fairly ok food. If you go on a Friday night or weekend its a disaster! The wait staff are lousy, never there when you need them, ditzy, forgetful, and generally rude. I had one girl one night that I actually had to go find to get an order. She was to busy flirting with this idiot juice head to remember us(more importantly me). lets get laid after you get off work not when the game is on and I dont have a plummeting buzz due to your forgetfulness. She then preceded to bring me the wrong beer three times. The last time she even asked«did I get right this time?». I had to look her in her expressionless glazed over face for a second to not tell her she was the dumbest person I had ever met. But I was a gentleman and thanked her for the random IPA she brought. «Nice job sweetheart you nailed it this time»… I’m sure Mom and Dad would be proud at how well their«princess» was doing. Parking is a nightmare. Its a great place to test your driving skills as you leave. Nothing like dodging vomit and plastered coeds weaving in out and popping out from hidden behind cars. I can only say do yourself a favor and park in the back. You will thank me when you check out your car the next day and it doesn’t have dents or scrapes. Other than that the place has its moments once in awhile. ***I couldn’t help but comment about the idiot being upset about not being able to watch the blackhawks. Wow Im from Chicago too. I wouldn’t be surprised or upset if I went to a MI bar and asked«hey can we watch the Blackhawks game instead?» Im surprised they didn’t ask you to leave. Thats like going to a funeral and asking if its ok for you to stop in and get a selfie high-fiving the deceased. I bet people in MI would have enough sense to not go to a ChiTown sports bar and demand to watch the Red Wings game! You would probably get your @$$ kicked or something.***

I have not been here for close to 30 years ago when I was in grad school. Went here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. The place is huge and dark, and I’m not really into sports bars at all, but the lunches were surprisingly good, big portions, good prices. I had the French dip with cheese & onions and the home-made chips, my daughter had the white chicken chili and shrimp tacos, which were awesome! Everything was way above average and excellent value. Service was good and pleasant. I wouldn’t enjoy it on a busy sports night, but will be back for lunch!

I wish there was a worse rating i could give this travesty to the city of kalamazoo. I went last weekend. I am disabled, and the owner started harassing me had the bouncers assault me, insulted me called me a liar about being disabled, told me to produce a disability id card(this card does not exist) Tried to force me to wear some random baseball hat(chemo and other drugs have made me start losing my hair) when i refused on the basis of my lack of immune system, he asked me why i leave the house. he then threatened to call the police on me. and kicked me out, all without being able to take one sip of our drinks. so in my first visit to this disgusting establishment i was assaulted insulted humiliated and discriminated against all because i was loosing my hair from life saving medical treatments. so anyone who reads this review, please support the disabled community and BOYCOTTWAYSIDEWEST!!! It takes a special kind of scumbag to mess with and sick violent bouncers on sick chemo patients. DONOTREWARDTHISBEHAVIOR!!!

A friend dragged me out one night, we ended up here. Not a bad thing!!! turns out i love everything about it! First off the food was sooooo good I never new chicken nachos could ever be that tasty! Next is the size of this place, I mean seriously i could have like 2 or 3 parties in there and i dont think any one would ever see the same person twice! Its HUGE! Upstairs there’s a lounge area with like 15 couches, a vip room, plenty of pool tables, and even sum arcade games! Awesome! Music was even good. Drinks were served in mugs! Nice and big!

Super good. Salads are huge, nachos are served on each individual chip so you have meat and cheese on everyone and the burgers were very tasty also. The place was super big.

First off, this place is GIANT. Tons of seating both at the main level bar and tables, tons of seating at the upstairs bar and tables, not to mention the 10 or so pool tables, and two u-shaped leather couch«dens» for watching a big game with friends. They also have a large patio, a poker room, and what appears to be a night club. Good selection, great prices, friendly bartender. Check it out.

Living in Michigan can be tough if you’re a blackhawks fan. We were trying to find a sports bar that would play the game, and wayside west would since they have about 5000 T.V.‘s. At first a Pistons game was on so it was on the big screens, and the blackhawks game was on a little tiny screen below, and on the other big screen was just ads for their own bar, so we politely asked the waitress if they could put the blackhawks game on the big TV. She asked her owner who said no, because the pistons had priority. Yea yea yea, we get that, but are the ads for your own bar necessary on the other TV? So someone at another table also asks for the game to be put on the big TV. The owner comes over and is ridiculously rude to everyone, saying we’re even lucky he’s playing a Blackhawks game. He concedes that after the pistons game he’ll put the blackhawks on the big screen. So the pistons game ends, we wait and wait, and finally the owner goes up and changes the channel… to a different basketball game. Jerk. An owner should never disrespect his customers. You’re a sports bar, there was a demand for a certain game, you promised many customers something to make us happy, then did something completely different. It’s also silly that you need to show commercials for your own bar on a mega TV screen. Waitresses were lousy, no personality, hardly checked on us and seemed annoyed whenever we asked for something. This bar is huge, but it has an attitude problem even bigger than that.

Thursday is «$ 6.50 medium pizza night», and so I took the family there for something different. We were pleasantly surprised. They make everything in-house, so that’s already ahead of most chain restaurants. The kid’s pepperoni and cheese pie was a tad greasy, but the adult’s combo pizza was quite flavorful and the crust was tender. The service was pretty good — drinks were refilled and we were checked on pretty regularly throughout the meal. Overall, a good place to hang before the bar scene gets going later in the night.

Best nachos in town and best pizza in a bar setting. Wait staff is friendly. Good specials. I’m middle age and it is a college bar but that usually is after ten. Good place to watch a game.

We stopped in here looking to grab a couple of drinks and have a good time. There was a large group of us and we wanted a place that could handle a party our size. When we first walked in, it was impressive! This place is huge with four floors of tables, and multiple bars. It took some time to find a place we could all sit together and we found one in an area that had couches. We had just sat down when a bartender came over and politely told us that that section wasn’t open yet as there was a private party and that we could sit there, but we wouldn’t have a waitress. We should have just stayed, but not wanting to cause problems, we went to another area, and this is where trouble started. The waitress we had was horrible. It took her forever to get to our table, then when she finally came and took our drinks it took a long time to get them, and when they came she had the order all wrong. She brought things we didn’t order and didn’t bring items we did. It took so long that a couple of people went to the bar to order their own drinks. When the waitress came back she still had it wrong and they told her to just take the drinks off their tab. She left and came back with the drinks they had already canceled, and it still wasn’t right. She was rude about the whole thing and made some flippant comments. We all left. I’ll never go back.

Wayside is humongous. I only sat in one area at the bar but I think they have a variety of games, a dancing room which also happened to be housing a cagefight, and several bars. On a Saturday night the special was an unbelievable $ 3 you call it, even including Bloody Marys. I’m pretty sure the pickles and olives in it cost at least $ 2. The servers are very friendly and attentive, as is the(unnecessary) bathroom attendant. The crowd is nice, albeit weird, but that could be due to the cagefight. Too bad this place is so far from downtown. When you open a tab they don’t need to keep your card, which is a plus for credit card forgetters like me.

One of the best pulled pork sandwich’s in Kalamazoo plus they have $ 1 pints of domestic on Friday and shuffleboard. Other than that it’s kind if a D-Bag environment in the evening.

This really encompasses the true meaning of a sports bar. Wayside is for many reasons the best bar in Kalamazoo. I remember back in the day, when people would wait in line for up to an hour just to get in and have a good night at «da Way». It certainly has a lot to offer anyone who wants a reason to get out at any time of day. The bar offers a lot of attractions that will keep you busy, entertained, and satisfied depending on what you have on your mind. Equal parts, restaurant and bar, the Wayside opens its doors to all ages in the daytime with a commendable menu of appetizers and meals. The bar boasts of over 40 local and imported beers on tap at competitive prices. There are also 4 bars on the premises, so you don’t have to wait too long on a busy night. If you are trying to chill out with friends, try out one of the many arcade games or even the free-throw basketball simulator upstairs. There or also about 7 seven-foot(bar size) pool tables and 2 nine-foot tables on the upper level of the bar. The bar hosts singles and doubles pool tournaments all the time if you are the competitive type. Wanna catch a game? Sit at one of the many couches and booths scattered all over the bar or in the newly remodeled TV lounge and watch one of the many big screen TVs. Game night is always a great time at Wayside for this reason. Are you into poker? Visit Wayside on one of the nights the bar hosts Texas Hold-em No-Limit games and try your hand at some cards. Just gamble responsibly and don’t bet away next month’s rent. Maybe you’ve had a hard week and wanna dance your stress away. Check out the dance club section where some of the best DJ’s in Kalamazoo have spun their records. If the dance club is too crowded for your liking, check out the VIP section overlooking the dance club and enjoy the scene from a more private perspective. The VIP section accepts groups in advance or at request for celebrations or birthday parties and offers bottle service at reasonable prices. The Wayside has had its ups and downs over the years but it has definitely stood the test of time and is always a great place to go to have some good clean fun.

This is my favorite place to hang out in the ‘zoo for drinkin’. It’s like a chameleon… During the day it’s a sports bar with pizza and games on the big screens, and it’s a full-fledged bar and club at night. Ask for a starburst… It’s a little treat I brought all the way from New Mexico State to the good ol Wayside. Ya know that country song«I love this bar», that’s Wayside for me. Country music? What’s happening to me? I gotta go listen to some hardcore rap or death metal now…
