Waitress didn’t ask for refills or drinks but gave them away. Food was good and huckleberry pie was also good. Great place to stop by.

I’m not a big fan of the tree frog. Not letting in kids is lame. I can’t say much about the food. Nothing fantastic on the menu.

Very very delicious clam chowder, almost as good as what comes from the Oregon coast!

We have looked all over town for gluten free options and the Tree Frog Tavern is the best place to find excellent gluten free options. We had spinach lentil curry soup and a gluten free burger and fries… EXCELLENT! Fantastic ser if and atmosphere. Has definitely. become our favorite lunch and dinner place!

The Tree Frog is a hidden gem that I’m so happy I found. The food is outstanding and the service was quick and very friendly. Our waitress Dawn was very helpful with our choices on what to order. She was so very kind and extremely pleasant. The fish tacos are to die for. I have eaten many fish tacos around the country and these were awesome. My sister had the catfish and said it was the best she’s ever had. We had white chocolate bread pudding for dessert and oh my … heaven. We will definitely come back to The Tree Frog and try more of the wonderful food.

I’ve been in twice since my previous review. The kitchen is still a bit slow, but the bartenders Gina and Dawn are super friendly and attentive. I’ve tried the stuffed poblano peppers, frog legs, and the Italian sandwich, all were really good. I love to swing by mid-afternoon for a beer and lunch. My mind is changed. I’ll be back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have never been to this place before and never will go back. My wife and I went in and right away the service sucked big time. One waiter taking care of 6 tables throughout the dinning room. By the time we got our drinks we had been their for over 5 min. When you first walk in the door you don’t know if you are suppose to seat yourself or wait to be seated. The waitress yelled across the room for us to set anywhere we wanted to. Back to our drinks. The glasses looked very dirty so we did not even bother with drinking our soda. We waited another 10 min before the waitress told us again from across the room she would be right over to take our order. At this point my wife and I had been talking about just leaving. Another 5 mins went by and the waitress finally came over to take our order. I felt bad so we made our order and were willing to give it a shot. Waitress then took the order and left the table. Waiting another 15 min we noticed about 5 health code violations and a older man busing the tables. He looked angry the whole time. That same man was taking care of two people at the bar at the same time he was busing a table. First off he did not wash his hands before handling clean glasses for the two customers at the bar and when one of them asked a question he snapped at her and told her he was busy and would get to her when he could. The waitress we saw going back and forth like mad taking orders for only 6 tables and getting drinks and side dishes for customers not washing her hands between handling dirty rags and dishes and her tablet that they take orders on before handling the food. In her case we saw her actually touch peoples food to pull whatever out of it. NASTYDIRTYPLACE. This establishment is very unsafe with food prep. I don’t want to forget that the lady in the back cooking was not wearing a hair net. All this in the time we waited for food. We made the choice and got up and walked out which probably was a good thing since we did not want to get sick.

This place has improved so much since it opened. I had been in a time or two in the first year and it never felt right, not the atmosphere I was hoping for, not the food I was hoping for. I did have lunch and it was good. So I took a friend for dinner and it was just great. I had the grilled portobello sandwich and it was rich and full of flavor. My friend had meatloaf and liked it a lot. Huge glasses of wine, nice fireplace, fairly unobtrusive TVs. I do wish there was more of a selection for vegetarians, and I would rather see local brews on tap. But overall — I’m a fan.

I like this restaurant and have been there several times. I give it thee stars because the food is good but it is not great. I really like the burgers as you can build your own. One thing I don’t like is that I am a sucker for a Reuben sandwich. I ordered it and it was beef brisket on focaccia bread. That is not a Reuben! Service by staff has always been good.

Was just like it said on the menu. «Gourmet food in a casual setting». Service with a smile. Fish tacos where outstanding. Would eat here again.

I love this place. It is by far the best steak I have had in the valley. The hamburgers, homemade soup and fancy bread are also a must. The owner and bartenders welcome my daughter and I every time we are in there. Service could improve on the floor, but the wine selection is worth it!!!

Went to the casino tonight with my friend. While we were playing the slots and enjoying a drink we opted to eat there also. My friend ordered the fish taco and I ordered the frog legs. We also both tried a cup of clam chowder. They brought out some fresh bread with a vinegar dip. Which was excellent and fresh out the oven. We The frog legs were excellent and it is wonderful to have a wider variety in flathead valley.

I am a longtime Tiebuckers fan from spending summer weekends on Flathead lake. While I was circumspect to see Tiebuckers go, the Tree Frog tavern is an in town treat. So fortunate for the locals and tourists alike to get to experience a New York or Chicago style meal at Montana prices. Steaks are on par with something you would find at Peter Lugers. Salads are crisp with perfectly balanced dressing that pleases the palate without overcoming the underlying greens. Deserts are a must have. Thank you Barry and Julie for years of amazing meals, conversation, and friendship.

The parking lot at the Tree Frog was packed, and my boyfriend and I took this to be a harbinger of deliciousness to come. Upon entering, we waited for a hostess or a server to seat us. After several minutes, the bartender scooted out from behind the bar and told us to sit wherever we liked. Not a good idea since they had a «Please Wait To Be Seated» sign. However, we chose a table in a quiet corner and proceeded to wait. And wait. Finally, the harried server arrived at our table and said, «I didn’t see you here; who seated you?» «The bartender,» we replied. «Oh. Not that silver-haired man sitting at the bar?» «No,» I said, becoming uneasy as I watched the server’s face take on an alarming shade of red. «Huh, well that’s the owner sitting at the bar and he’s supposed to be greeting and seating customers instead of sitting on his fat lazy ass.» Awkward silence. We then asked what was on tap, and she said, «We don’t have tap beer, just cans.» Our delicious cans of beer arrived, and we ordered our food. We got the bruschetta as an appetizer, my bf got the shrimp po’ boy with fries, and I ordered a Caesar salad with a grilled chicken breast. After our server left I noticed a couple about two tables away who had been sitting there for an extended period of time. No drinks, no water, nothing. When the server(same one we had) got to their table, she proceeded to tell them about the lazy owner and his lazy ass all over again. Their reaction was similar to ours: uneasy smiles and murmurs of «Oh, that’s too bad… hmmm…uhhhh…what’s on tap?» Bruschetta arrived. Tasty topping, lots of garlic and basil and good parmesan, but the bread was rock-hard and cold. I had to drizzle olive oil on it to soften it. The roof of my mouth is still raw. My boyfriend was doing his best to see the humor in all of this, and I was trying. Not too successfully. Our food finally arrived – 35 minutes later. Now, I’m somewhat of a purist when it comes to Caesar salads, and this one shocked my sensibilities. Creamy dressing poured out of a bottle, a baby carrot, two huge slices of red onion, a couple slices of cucumber and a pickled beet adorned my salad. The chicken breast was an unsliced, anemic-looking rubbery thing that had seen the inside of a microwave and had that gross congealed white stuff on it. And it wasn’t even remotely warm. I took two bites of it and pushed it to the side of my plate. My boyfriend’s shrimp po’ boy was sorry as well. Deep-fried, greasy, lukewarm shrimp and shoestring fries fresh from the freezer. «Good thing I was hungry,» was all he said as he took the last bite. «How was everything?» our waitress asked as she slapped the bill on the table. «Not too good,» I said, and forked my chicken breast out of the bowl and held it aloft. «I have a question: does this look appetizing to you?» She made an ill-disguised attempt not to look disgusted, and said, «Well…» I helped her out. «This has been cooked in a microwave and it’s not even warm and it was grilled for probably two seconds and it tastes terrible.» She stood there at a loss for words, and my boyfriend was suddenly fascinated by the bill. She finally said, «I’ll take the chicken off your bill,» to which I replied«You probably should take it off your menu too.» This could be a delightful place to eat/drink: good location, nice atmosphere. The menu is small, and that fact alone would lead one to believe that the dishes will be made only from fresh, local ingredients and prepared with the utmost care. And with the boom in craft beers, it would behoove the Tree Frog to follow the trend. With beer on tap, not in cans. And it’s not a good thing when the owner sits at the bar and drinks the profits. Some changes need to be made, and soon. This is one Tree Frog that should be on the endangered species list.

The service was very sloooowwwww! They were not that busy. They had 5 waitresses, a hostess and bar tenders on the floor. It took forever to get our drinks. When we finally did get our food my med steak was well done and very dry, my baked potato was very cold and half cooked served with very cold butter. My hubby’s was ok. The room was very cold and the music was loud. The only thing good about the place was my company!

Don’t let the fact that it used to be a Sizzler put you off, they have done a good job at turning a sows ear into a silk purse by creating a space for you to unwind in. For the sports fan, there are quite a few monitors spread about the place so you can watch your favorite game while having your meal at the bar or seated at the tables in the dinning room. That’s all your going to do is watch though as they are not keen on turning the volume on any of them. You’re going to have to listen to the music being broadcast out of the ceiling speakers while you watch the Saints open a can of whoop-ass on the Bears. My first visit here didn’t have me trying their food, but I did have a look at the menu. I never though I would ever see escargot on any menu in Montana, but there it was, along with frog legs, steamed clams, and fish tacos too. Not your style, not to worry, they also have the usual fare like sandwiches, burgers, salads, seafood, and steaks. Now, I’m a bit of a craft beer aficionado, so my trip there was one of, let’s see what kinds of craft beer this new place has on tap. Much to my horror, and disappointment, there were NO beers whatsoever on tap. Every beer on the list, which is decent in its offerings, is in bottles or cans. Maybe I can get past the, no volume on the monitors, but no beer on tap may just keep me from returning, but that’s just because I’m a beer snob. If you want to attract the exploding craft beer crowd, you’re going to have to get a tap system figured out, because everyone knows that nothing beats craft beer that comes out of a tap. Tap beer tastes like it’s creator intended for it to taste and craft beer that’s in bottles or cans just isn’t the same.
