Cam’s Barber Styling

First off, the place is set up like a hole in the wall barber shop, but the prices charges were ridiculously high!
The pricing for everything is a number and up. So when you are getting your hair done, you have a price in mind, but you never know the actual amount until you get the bill. They did not tell my sisters and I how much it would be until AFTER they were done, and priced our colorings at high-​end salon prices. They also did things like my eyebrows without asking if I even wanted my eyebrows done or notifying me that it was an aditional charge. They also fried the bottom of my sisters hair while bleaching it (they don’t use timers), it was steaming when they took it out of the bleach, leaving the bottom frizzled and white. The words, «Why, is this so hot!» are not words you want to hear from your stylist. They insisted that they had to cut it to fix it, which they then charged her extra for and didn’t tell her before hand that it would be extra. She also put the color pink in my other sisters hair and charged her for it even though it was not a color that was requested. Granted it looks good, but she didn’t want pink hair, so we were very confused.
We went with pictures of how we would like our hair to look like. Although, we didn’t expect it to look exactly like the picture, but close would have been nice.
I found their business practices border line criminal and their services sub-​par. If zero was an option, I would give zero stars. They ripped us off and charged us for their mistakes. Do not go there and if you do, make sure she tells you exactly how much its going to cost up front before your begin.
We found out later that her prices are for shorter hair. The «& up» means if you don’t have a pixie cut, be prepared to be charged whatever she wants to charge you. When she’s cutting your hair, if she wants to do something other then you discussed, make sure you stop her unless she tells you how much more its going to cost. She just does it without permission and charges at the end. Unfortunately we learned the hard way how this establishment works as a hair salon. We will let all our family and friends know to be wary of Cam’s Barber Styling. I will be checking with the Better Business Bureau about her business practices.
To end on the only positive note. We went back to ask her about her prices and she was nice enough to reimburse my sister for the hair cut that we didn’t want.
I think we were overall very taken aback that this happened, because before we saw what was being charged, we were having a great time chatting with Cam.

More so it has such a welcoming environment :-)
