I saw Tasha here and she was amazing!!! She gave me exactly what I was asking for. Which I know is difficult because as much as I’d love to be platinum blonde, I am a brunette. But she got my hair very very blonde and even uses olaplex which feels soooo amazing! I cannot wait to come back and see her for my next appt.

Went in for a haircut for my daughter and I end up getting one myself. Jenny cut my daughters hair and she loves it. We were getting compliments everywhere we went. It was stylish yet perfect for a 10 year old. I had my hair cut my Florlyn and I love it. She had to fix my hair because I tried to cut it myself. Bad idea! She gave me beautiful layers but kept my length. I and in love with the aftermath. I love how clean the shop is and how friendly they always are.

Got my brows and upper lip threaded. Very happy with the results and the process wasn’t as painfully as other places. I was disappointed that the girl that does the threading is only there on certain days which requires you to make an appointment and come back another day if you go the day she not working. I did the facial wasn’t all that great. I had better. I left feeling grease. My skin looked great which is what ur looking for when you get a facial. I have mix feelings with the facial.

Tasha was awesome! I have an interview tomorrow and needed to trim up my long shaggy hair and she did a great job doing exactly what I had envisioned and giving me pointers on my hair. I was looking all over Unilocal to see where I should go and I was very hesitant to let anyone cut my hair but Tasha did a great job. She also gave a solid head massage with the shampoo and conditioner after the cut. I’m trying to grow my hair out longer but would definitely recommend her, especially for a men’s cut.

Jen is awesome! I did highlights and got eye/​lip wax. She did a thorough job asking me what I wanted and explained different options. She was great with waxing and got me looking great for my wedding. It’s a great shop with a relaxed feel and great art.

Today I had my 6-​month retouch for a Japanese straight perm by Florlyn. I have very thick hair and the appointment took only 5 hours this time. I feel bad for her because it does take so long and it’s extremely tedious. Florlyn is meticulous and exact in each part of the process. (The initial straightening was 7 hours and she didn’t take any breaks, just worked on my hair for all that time. She only left me for the 10 minutes my hair needed for the neutralizer. I was pretty much there for her entire shift that day.) She is so nice, welcoming, knowledgeable and gives me great hair care tips. I have also gotten a hair cut from her, which I loved and got a ton of compliments. Be sure to add a scalp treatment, it’s heavenly!

Jenny is patient, thorough and such a sweetheart. She also does great work with hair at a great price. Jenny’s on the younger side, and I found her really personable. She offered me water, tea or coffee immediately, and then went on to discussing my hair. The nice thing about it is she definitely goes through all the forms and makes you sign a consent with a patch test– which means she actually cares about her liability.
I came here in 2014 to get my hair done and was going to go back, but recently saw the prices and saw that they’ve gone waaaaaay up from the last time I was there :(Makes sense because of growth and demand, but it turns me off from coming here now because I can pay the same amount in San Francisco and get a better job done. Jenny is great and does a good job coloring and going over your options with you though. If you’re coming here for a haircut, do it because it’s worth it– but if you want a complex coloring job, there are other people on the island who will do your hair for cheaper. I still like Jese Salon though because it’s clean, hip and relatively priced right depending on what service you’re getting.
I will say the color job was one of the best ones I’ve had ever though. The red stayed in for three months (granted not a lot of wash n’ wear took place.) But it does last, she uses great products and Jenny is always very honest and does a good job with hair.

Went in for my appointment with Floralyn. She is a very professional, and friendly stylist. I am not satisfied with my haircut unfortunatley. I requested a simple bob with side swept bangs. Pretty much what I already had but just wanted shorter. The bangs are uneven and the ends of my hair look uneven and choppy. i had 2 people tell me my hair is uneven. To be fair to Floralyn, she did seem to be really trying hard to do a good job and does a fantastic job of shampooing. Included a great scalp massage. The cost was $ 36.00 plus i gave a 10 $ tip so 46 $ later my hair looks worse. SO sorry, but just being honest.

Great easy location in Kaneohe. I had Tasha, and she gave me a great shampoo, massaging my head and conditioning my hair.
My directions were the things I didn’t want: bangs, choppy look, too short. She trimmed my hair just the right length, layered just the bottom, and gave me carefree style I requested.

I went in for a facial, which was pretty good. She actually talked way too much instead of start the facial. It seemed like she was purposely talking to me about nothing in order to make my facial time shorter. I got the European facial, which was relaxing and my skin looked good afterwards.
The one really distracting thing was that all the girls who work there had their children/​husbands/​other people sitting around/​talking story in the salon doing nothing. This did not give the place an upscale vibe… it did the opposite.
Unfortunatley, I could hear them through the facial room door. Also, their bathroom door didn’t work (it didn’t shut all the way nor did it lock).They need to class up the place and I’d consider coming back.

I had some questions about a few of their services so I sent a message using their website. This was Thursday morning before they opened at 10A. I usually don’t call places because I work grave shift and am asleep during normal business hours. It is Sunday now and I haven’t heard back from them. Per their website, they are open Monday-​Saturday. That’s 3 business days that they haven’t gotten back to me. Looks like I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I live in Aiea and I drove all the way over here just to get my hair fixed.
I had my hair done for a christmas present. However, the person who did my hair messed it up so bad! I wanted a nice subtle ombré but what I walked out with was bleached hair that was choppy and murdered. Six months later, I finally had enough and low and behold it was my saving grace.
I had an appointment with Floralyn for 9:00am. I left there at about 2 in the afternoon. She took her time and I was completely fine with it. I’d rather have a high quality color and cut than have a botched job that I would later regret. She was an amazing stylist. She walked me through the process of coloring my hair rather than just doing as she saw fit. She talked me through every step she took and why she did. The salon its self has an overall happy and positive environment, which I can get behind. The chairs were comfy, the music was great, and the room was very tastefully designed. This was just a great experience.
The end product? Amazing! I’ve posted photos of the before and after so you can be the judge of that. However, I’m so happy with how my hair now looks. I now have a balayage/​ombré with a slight trim and styled bangs. I also got a deep conditioning. My hair looks so much better and I’m just overly happy with how this came out.
I definitely recommend Jese Salon and ask for Floralyn.

This place is amazing! Came in to see Jenny last minute and she cut my hair exactly like I showed her (I came in with a picture). They also have hair products straight from japan that you can’t get any where else! I got my new favorite hair wax and it smells like grape hichew .
Do yourself a favor and get your hair done here for a great price!

Ever since my favorite stylist moved back to her hometown, I have been on a search for a new one. I’ve been to a Korean salon, where the cuts were inexpensive and fast. A Japanese salon, where the service is amazing. Regis salon where an older lady used her years of experience to replicate a style from a grainy, instagram selfie. I noticed the salon had popped up where the nail salon use to be, next to the yogurt place (orange tree, orange grove… something like that) and wondered how it would be.
I visited in May… or June for a very last minute haircut on a Saturday afternoon. How last minute? Well, it was about 2pm when I called for their last appointment slot of the day, while I was walking a dog at work.
I spoke to Jenny to make the appointment, and without any hesitation, she booked me an appointment.
Jenny ended up cutting my hair. I showed her the same ulzzang selfie as I should the stylist at Regis. She was able to replicate it PERFECTLY! I can’t believe how great my hair was.
The best part is, she really makes you feel comfortable. I confessed to her that I really don’t maintain my hair and cut it maybe, once a year and I cut my bangs on my own. Its just my own laziness. A lot of times, people get offended about that, but she didn’t and understood.
We spent a lot of the time talking, which I normally don’t care for when something has a scissors or razor in their hand. But, she kept focused even while chatting with me. We even shared pictures of our dogs, and who doesn’t LOVE talking about their furry kids.
Im so glad that Jese salon is in Kaneohe, and a 5 minute walk from my house. I will definitely return, and am planning to cut my hair again… because of the summer heat.

Just got my hair cut for the first time here and I’m totally coming back! Great salon with fun décor and clean and air conditioned! Jenny did my hair and did a great job! She listened to my every question and was very patient! This will be my salon for as long as I live here!

Unprofesional and rude. Jenny has become utterly complacent with disregard to what was a loyal client since opening less than 6 months ago. I arrived for my appointment to find her playing with her dog, and then she tells me she can no longer do my hair, she has no color to do my hair with and she is «leaving, sorry!» She then tells me to go to the mall! I made this appointment 6 weeks ago after my last appointment. I am shaking my head right now because with a business ethic like this, one is set for failure. Especially a new business which should be focused on building a client base.
So, I’ll be sure to let the next salon know Jenny at Jese Salon referred me because she couldn’t handle her job responsibly.

Sometimes I wonder what is worse — going to the dentist or getting a haircut… For me, both «office visits» are of a rather intimate nature. The biggest difference is that people can see the results of a salon…
Being my typical self, I wait until the very last minute — when I am FORCED to get a haircut. I had a really bad hair day at work the night before. I wake up right before I leave the house and hope that my hair is «normal». I do not have any time to fuss with it as I am so sleep deprived from working midnight shift.
Last night was so bad with an uncontrolable area. This chunk of hair had a mind of its own. Desperately, I tried to flatten it down with water and wore my hoodie over it. I really felt like cutting it off myself! I looked to Unilocal for help and looked at the seven 5-​star reviews for Jese Salon and decided that it was time.
When I woke up from my morning nap, I called the salon and was greeted by a pleasant voice — Jenny. The first opening was at 4pm, but I thought I needed to be in town by 4pm, so I made an appointment for the next day. After thinking it over, I called back and took the 4pm slot, hoping that I could be taken earlier if I got there earlier. YES! Jenny was ready for me — she shook my hand and we discussed the attack on the unruly hair.
In addition to her skill as a hairstylist (gentle, quick, and competent with a good scalp massage), Jenny is an excellent conversationalist! Here’s what I found out:
The official opening date was March 10, 2014. Jenny & her mom (Cecily?) own the shop (next to Times Supermarket) that was «built with love». Jenny herself painted the walls. Her boyfriend built the check-​in counter; her friends laid the flooring; and the contractor just did the plumbing and counter that runs the length of the room. It’s a clean, fresh, open feeling with bright lighting and simple décor. There is a cute red airplane for children to sit in while their hair is being cut!
Jese Salon runs mostly on word-​of-​mouth advertising — like a grass roots campaign. They have a great referral program — if you mention my name, you’ll get $ 10 off any service and I will, too. They will keep track of it in the computer system! Isn’t that cool? In no time, you could get a free facial, waxing, cut, or color! For sure I will return — it was convenient (free & plentiful parking) and a pleasant surprise (my new do is great)!! …and no teeth were pulled! ;)

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Absolutely love it here! I got and ombrè highlight look, done by Jenny (the owner). My sister got a medium shoulder length cut done by Tasha. We both love our new cuts.
From the start, it was lovely. Easy and accessible parking, friendly staff, pleasant interior, all around good vibes. As walk-​ins we were surprised that we got settled in so quickly. After talking over what I wanted, I was set to go. It was nice talking story to Jenny and her mother Jese. Both very friendly and inviting.
I didn’t just get the coloring, I got a shampoo treatment, conditioning treatment, and to top it off Jenny curled and styled my hair. All for free! I absolutely love it.
My hair has a golden natural look, as well as the subtle ombrè I wanted. As for my sister, she got the short shoulder length cut she was looking for.
The cost for all this? Not too much, but for what you get there. Absolutely worth it. A professional salon with prices this good is hard to find guys. All of this, and the place is only a couple months old. I’m glad that they’re are getting business and I hope that they continue to expand in the future!
Finally, I found a salon that I will definitely be coming back to!

I came to Jese Salon today to have my two year daughter’s hair cut. What a treat it was for her to play pilot in a airplane shaped chair while getting a very sweet new hair cut. The girl who did my daughters hair (I forget her name sorry!) was so patient and kind even though my little wiggly girl moved the entire hair cut.
The salon is fresh and very inviting. The staff is amazing. We will be back!

Very pleasant and professional! Salon Jese is obviously passionate about what they do and are excited to make you look and feel great. I will most definitely make this my go to place to get my haircut.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any other service done on this day but I’m looking forward to my next visit! :-) A+ for Salon Jese.
