The park is nice and kept clean. Just want to point out that I was there on a sunday and inquired about a kayak rental and the white lady working there was very rude and not helpful. I think there was a wedding going on there that day, but that doesn’t justify giving attitude to someone asking about a kayak. I have experienced nothing but love on that island, so getting greeted by someone rude is all the more shocking. And the feral cats are a problem: The cats eat the natural wildlife there, so from a scientific standpoint, the cats should be removed.

Amazing place to snorkel and kayak to various sandbars. The reef is amazing but there aren’t too many fishes. I would have given 5 star if there were more fish. This place is not too far from Kailua and Lanikai. My wife and I saw about 9⁄10 massive turtle here(500 lbs+). We rented a kayak and anchored down to various sand bars to snorkel. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

A must see! We rented kayaks from the State Park. very helpful and informative. Made our way to «Sunken Island». Rental prices we on the lower end of things and the views were great! You can paddle to many different sandbars to drop anchor and snorkel. Can be busy. Go early. Water can get choppy for the little ones to paddle.

We decided to check this beautiful park out after leaving Windward mall in Kaneohe. There is plenty of parking when you pull in and the area is pretty much open to the public. I had such a great time taking pictures. The scenery of the ocean is amazing. You can even walk down a trail to the shore. It’s so peaceful and gorgeous. We only saw one stray cat and heard a rooster, but so what? This is a state park, free to animals and we have the advantage to check this stuff out in Hawaii. Definitely a beautiful park to enjoy the weather, view, even have a picnic and take pictures!

We came here for the first time for a 1st birthday luau over the weekend. Here are the pros and cons: + Easy to find. Located on Kam Hwy. + Lots of parking. + Bathrooms. + Large, covered facility for parties. + Beautiful views. — Hoards of feral cats. I’m not exaggerating. There were at least 20(that we could see) in the parking lot when we arrived. A bit creepy actually.

It’s a pretty run down park near Heeia Boat Harbor. The views to the harbor and sea were pretty but marred by the rusty old bent chain link fences that surround the place. The parking lot is full of feral cats and wild chickens/roosters. There’s a sprinkle of tourists here. How they found the place? I don’t know. I’ve been here twice for parties, as there is a hall to rent out. It’s decent sized with a small kitchen to refrigerate your items(but no stove).

Heeia State Park is beautiful and on the Windward Side of Oahu, although there isn’t a whole lot to see besides views of the ocean and mountains. Basically, there is a large banquet room that can be rented out by groups or for parties, a boat launch area next door, restrooms, and a good-sized parking lot. Probably not the most popular park in the area, but hey, it’s something to check out even if you happen to come across it by accident like I did.

I came here for the first(and only) time for a keiki first birthday. The family rented out the banquet hall there. It was a drizzly and windy kind of day so I didn’t check out the rest of the grounds. I can’t really say much as we were there for about 2 hours because my son got sick, threw up on me and we went home. lol. My recap: Pros: –Lots of parking –Clean and well maintained facilities(interestingly, you rent the facilities from Kamaaina Kids, the preschool.) –Nice view from the community hall –Spacious banquet hall with high, exposed beam ceilings; comes with tables and chairs, and there was kitchen attached to the back of the place Cons: –Far? lol… I’m a townie. Really, I didn’t stay long enough to really notice any«cons».

This is a beautiful state park. When you pull into the parking lot you are greeted with plenty of wild chickens and some feral cats. Their is a nice building that you can rent out for parties. If you walk down there is a place where you could launch a kayak — there are some outdoor showers down there too where you could rinse off your kayak or yourself. There are some nice bathrooms with soap and paper towels at the park too. There is not a whole lot to this park — mostly just a nice parking lot, building, bathrooms and a little boat launch area. Oh and there is a nice outdoor stage area in the grass — where someone could preform. That’s about it. This a a pretty place — and it would be an ideal place to rent out a building and have a party.
