I am so glad I decided to stop here. Yukkejyang was so yummy just the way I like it done. Panchan here is a lot different than what I’m used to, but I liked a couple of things. Great price for amount of food you can get here. I am definitely coming back here for more yukkejyang.

Found this place off Unilocal(thanks!). Lunched here on Sunday and we were the only customers there. That’s usually a bad sign but not so here. Food was very good but my two meat combo at $ 14.50 was kinda small for the price, but very tasty.

This was the worst Korean BBQ place I’ve been to in a while. The meat was rubbery & the veggies had no taste. We were super disappointed… Not a place we would recommend.

I was in the back parking lot of this place. We were parked back there. As we were standing by our car we could see the door to this place. It was cracked open so you could see the kitchen. There is a dumpster right outside and there were RATS running into the door of the kithchen. SOGROSS. I WOULDN’T EATHERE.

I came to have lunch here for the first time, based on a great overall Unilocal rating of 4−½ stars and was quite disappointed. We ordered a kalbi plate, along with a garlic shrimp plate. While the kalbi was decent, the garlic shrimp was nowhere near being anything like the stuff you find at a North Shore shrimp truck as some have mentioned. The shrimp here were bland and, although it had lots of fresh minced garlic over it, it was pretty tasteless and dry. All the banchan(side dishes) we selected were also tasteless. The choy sum needed more sesame oil and salt, the shoyu potatoes were almost white in color — begging for more shoyu, the macaroni salad needed more mayonnaise, and the cold tofu with what should have been some type of shoyu over it tasted strange. You can get tastier banchan selections at even the fast-food, less-expensive type of Korean eateries like Yummy. Overall a disappointment. Really was hoping to jump on the bandwagon and support another mom-and-pop restaurant in Kaneohe, but am unable to give it more than 2 stars.

ehhhhh… was okay. Honestly small portions for the price. The meat jun was yummy and flavorful. The Kim Chee on the other hand, was horrible! Weird… Korean ownder so you would think it would be good. The Chop Chae was junky also, very dry and not too much taste. My hubby got the spicy pork which didn’t look too good either. It didn’t even look like it was grilled. Not sure if it’s what we ordered or if the food went down hill???

Best shrimp, huh? We’ll see about that. I noticed the Kaneohe Best Shrimp &BBQ listing on my Unilocal app while searching on places on what to eat on a day trip to Kaneohe. After having my fill at the Phở Viet Thai restaurant, I waited an hour before deciding on whether or not I wanted to check this place out. The name intrigued me, ever since I have been to Kahuku and dived into Fumi’s and Giovanni’s shrimp truck on separate occasions. Those were pretty good shrimp, but to see that this place has«best shrimp» in its name was more than disconcerning, so I just needed to check this place out and see whether or not this place has some seriously the best shrimp ever. Of course, it may just be in name only, but I just had to try for myself. With that said, I hung out at Windward Mall after my Vietnamese luncheon of Phở and summer rolls and just hung out. After getting sort of hungry again, I headed on over to Kaneohe Best Shrimp to see what was da best about it. The results were surprisingly good and I would like to recommend this place for those who like good shrimp. While not the best, as the name of the restaurant exclaims, it’s measures up pretty well to Giovanni’s and Fumi’s, at least with the taste and deliciousness of the shrimp available. Kaneohe Best Shrimp is a small hole in the wall Korean restaurant located in the heart of Kaneohe town. It’s located across the street from the Kaneohe Bay shopping center, adjacent to the Windward Mall, in the business complex that seems to look like an apartment complex, to be honest. I would not have known this place if it wasn’t for Unilocal.Kaneohe Best Shrimp accepts the major plastic, so that’s always a good thing, especially when you don’t carry enough cash on you. With that in mind, I came here looking for good shrimp. This place is small, but it has plenty of heart. Supporting local has never been this good and tasty, for that matter. The parking here can be grossly under-represented, but if you wanted to, you can park at the Windward Mall or Kaneohe Bay shopping center and pop on over. Of course, if you are like me, TheBus routes #55 and #65 passes through Kaneohe and stops right at Kaneohe Bay shopping Center /Windward Mall, so you’re golden either way. I ultimately decided to make my own combo of the spicy garlic shrimp and the lemon butter shrimp. All around $ 10 with rice. Not a shabby deal right there! You can do 3 choices for $ 12.95, but for me, 2 was enough to spend on shrimp. It was a take out order for me and an early dinner that night, so I didn’t eat it right away. When I got home, I heated it up and it was pretty good. The shrimp was pretty darn tasty, especially the garlicy ones. I kind of had to make rice at home to take in all the savory sauce that they had on there, just to savor the experience. The portions were admittedly normal, but for what it was worth, it was good. Thought $ 10 was a decent price, even for shrimp, so this place is value paid in full. Of course, you would have to skin your own shrimp and savor the goodness, but that’s cool. More fun and more good eating. I would like to return here just to sample more of the Korean fare that I had grown up eating, but since I am trying to do the frugal lifestyle to save for Europe this fall, I may not have that opportunity. Never say never though! The service was quick and expedient. The restaurant itself is clean and fully functional. I think the owner /person at the counter was appreciative that I was there at her nook. Definitely well worth the look, if you are in the area & craving authentic Korean cuisine. Oh they serve breakfast here too. Sweet! Support local! B

Cute little place with tons of options to choose from. Their garlic shrimp is okay… definitely not the best but it’ll satisfy your craving for it if you’re really desperate. Service here was prompt and the lady was very sweet. The best part about this place is that you get to choose what sides you want with your plate. Chive pancake was crispy and the jap chae was well seasoned… just didn’t have a whole lot of vegetables.

Eat at lots of Korean restaurants on Oahu, this one rates right in the middle. I had the spicy shrimp with sides, it was good but not great barbeque chicken had good flavor but the potatoes was bland. In a pinch I would go back for lunch again, but you should at least give them a try!

Clean restaurant, friendly staff, good portions and authentic taste. Kalbi, stone pot bi bum bap, seafood jun, oh Jing goh(spicy squid) are all good here. We live in walking distance and will pick this over most of the local eateries. We will often come here go to the nearby phở restaurant or eat at Boston Pizza. Pah Keh next door disappointed one too many times.

Seriously love this place. Their selection of banchan is awesome. If they’ve got it stocked, make sure to include gobo root as one of your sides(don’t normally see it at most Korean places). My wife usually gets their bi bim kook soo, while I go for their plate lunches. Meat jun, kalbi, spicy garlic shrimp.. . you get the point. But one thing I always have to check out at places is the Chicken Katsu and hands down, this place has one of my favorites! If you’re on the Windward side, definitely check them out. Seriously. Do it. Now.

I little tucked in the corner, this place doesn’t have a whole lot of curb appeal. I only knew of it’s location by word of mouth. When I walked inside, I was a bit surprised. The place was renovated so it wasn’t in bad shape as I had initially thought. The place look pretty clean. There’s a wide range of food choices to select from. They serve b. fast, lunch, and dinner. I got the seaweed soup, combo plate with bbq chicken and mandoo, and bibimbop. Portion size was not bad and the food was tasty. The bbq chicken(no bone) was moist and good. I would order the chicken again. The bibimbop was ok and the soup wasn’t bad. Vegetable portions were a little small and wasn’t anything special. On the menu they did have some unusual items like oyster jun, grilled sea bass, hot spicy chicken, garlic shrimp, and grilled butterfish. I would definitely come back again to try the other items.

This is one of those«hole in the wall» places that you need to try and probably give it a chance since you will need to try a bunch of their plates to find the one you like the best. This isn’t the first time we have been here, nor will it be the last. The menu consists of a mix of Korean food as well as local favorites like NY steak as well as breakfast plates. I haven’t been here for breakfast but according to a friend of mine, the portions are large. I will need to try breakfast out to report back on my take on it. So onto what we have tried in the past. My wife is really into Kal Bi so we always get that for her but she really didn’t care for it the last time so we chose the Pan Fried Shrimp tonight. The picture on the menu & the outside of the restaurant show a bunch of large shrimp that was tempura fried on a bed of vegetables. What we got was actually more like a stir fry with shrimp. I posted a photo of what we got, but I will need to post a photo of their picture and u tell me what you think. My wife liked it nonetheless, so its all good. I got the Chicken Katsu and it was perfectly prepared. The plate was plentiful(see my photo) and delicious. It wasn’t oily nor were any pieces burned or overcooked. Wished I had more katsu sauce though. I am giving this review 3-Stars since I am still not a 100% fan… just yet. I will revisit soon & find the«sweet spot» plates but for now, the katsu and the NY Steak are my personal favorites and will be the go to plates… for now.

I love this hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant! It’s hidden in the corner, right next to Pah Ke’s Chinese Restaurant; if you blink, you’ll miss it. You can eat in or take out. I’ve been here for lunch a couple of times. They are also open for breakfast. Closed on Tuesdays. The food is very tasty and is authentically Korean; average price per regular entrée is about $ 10, which comes with four choices of banchan + two scoops rice(or substitute another banchan for rice). The food and banchan are served on school cafeteria-type plates, which is good, as the compartments keep the sauces separate. Prices are reasonable for generous portions. The kalbi is tender, moist, and delish; the spicy pork is spicy hot and ono; the bibimbap is very flavorful; and the shrimp is huge and delicious. This restaurant is known for their shrimp, which is huge(16⁄20 count per lb), and can be prepared in many different ways, such as tempura, jun, katsu, lemon butter, garlic, teriyaki, grilled, hot and spicy, or pan fried with veggies. I didn’t care too much for their shrimp tempura, as the batter was somewhat oily. They also have a wide selection of meat, chicken, seafood, and veggie entrees, as well as combos, soups, and mixed rice/noodle dishes. Their banchan selections, which vary depending on the day, are very good, as the veggies are fresh and crunchy. I love their gobo when they hve it, as you don’t normally see this in Korean restaurants. Kim, who I think is the owner, is very personable and accommodating. Her attentive service will have your order ready withih a reasonable time, keep your water glasses constantly filled, and ask you periodically if everything okay. It’s a nice place to have lunch.

I had no clue that this is a Korean restaurant! Located next to Pah Ke’s, this place offers basic Korean food, as well as some items that can’t be found at Korean places on the Windward side(oyster jun, stone pot bi bim bap). I ordered a Kalbi plate to go. Regualr plates come with 4 choices of pan chan amd two scoops of rice. The kalbi was really good, as well as the pan chan. They put potato in their macoroni salad, making it velvety and delish! Prices are very reasonable, and they’re open for breakfast! Kalbi and butterfish for breakfast?!? Heck yes!

The spicy garlic shrimp was great. Large shrimps with a very spicy sauce. I had the mini plate and substituted the rice for an extra side. The combination of seaweed(with rice vinegar), Choi Sum(crunchy green veggie) and Kim Chee Jun(not very spicy) was a great combination for the spiciness of the shrimp. My dining companion had the Shrimp Jun with cucumber kimchee and shoyu potato. They were all good although we thought that the shoyu potato would taste more like shoyu. I liked it the way it was because there was already enough salt in the food. We live on the mainland but will probably make sure to eat here the next time we come back to windward Oahu.

THEYREALLYDOHAVETHEBESTSHRIMP&BBQ!!! DROOLFACTOR A MILLION!!! After driving from North Shore to get my shrimp truck fill from Kuhuku’s, Giovanni’s, and getting shut down by Romy’s TWICE(see review), I kept searching«Shrimp» on the Unilocal app on my phone to see if there were anymore«must-try» shrimp spots before driving back to Waikiki. Despite being dressed in a bathing suit wrapped with a sarong and sand still in my hair(we JUST came from the beach), there was just something that told me I HAD to try this place and BOYAM I GLAD I DID. The owner was really nice and welcoming and did not make me feel at all ghetto with my just-from-the-beach, sand-kissed hair, and trail of sand that I would leave behind him. It looks a little hole-in-the-wall-ish but I’m sure it’s clean, and the owner is very accomodating and good at filling your water when she’s not busy watching TV. Oh my goodness, this place was wonderful. I’m not a korean food expert so I was sort of worried during ordering because I didn’t want to order the wrong thing, but everything on their menu was THEBOMBDOTCOM. Mochiko chicken, spicy pork, kalbi, garlic shrimp, all large meat portions with enough to take back to the hotel, but we even placed an additional order to-go. Everything was tender and tasty. LOVELOVELOVETHISPLACE!!! WILLDEFINITELYBEBACK!!!

Ate here again a couple more times, and I just want to give their mochiko chicken some 5-star love. There’s something magical going on with the way they deep fry here; if you’re in the area, seek this place out. Also if someone tries the kim chee jun, please do a review. I would try it myself but the mochiko chicken’s got me on lockdown everytime.

Wow! what more can I say. Huge portions, Great sides, Great price. I could not put my chopsticks down! Wide selection of both local Korean food, and traditional Korean food. They have everything from tofu soup, hot pot Bibimbap, to Kalbi, meat jun. We stuck to the local food. I got a 2 choice combination of Kalbi and Chicken katsu, Kalbi was super soft, Katsu was crispy, tender and the katsu sauce was perfect! You get to choose 4 yes 4 sides, they were all so good. Parents got Meat jun and squid tempura, Meat jun was soft and flavorful, the sauce was perfect! I was a bit of a skeptic when it came to the squid tempura because i thought it might be tough. but it wasn’t at all it was super soft. I was very happily surprised, it was tender and flavorful. Someone else orderd Hot spicy garlic shrimp, it smelled so good I think i was stairing at it for while, I hope they didn’t see me! I’ll HAVE to get this next time. You know something is good when you are full but you don’t want to stop eating! I really wanted to try the traditional Korean dishes like the tofu soup but, that day was too hot. maybe during the winter or something but i’ll be back for sure! maybe for fried rice loco moco, or teriyaki beef musubi, or garlic shrimp, the list goes on. Pros: large portions, really good food, cheap price, friendly owner. Cons: ?? Verdict: My new favorite Plate lunch place! Advice: open from 8am to 8pm everyday. they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as do catering. located next to Pake’s
